C12 I Am Your Girlfriend
Sunlight streamed through the living room's floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a halo around him. A gentle smile graced his handsome face, making him even more captivating. His deep eyes locked onto hers, causing her heart to race.
"Okay." She felt her cheeks flush, responding awkwardly. As she descended the stairs, her limbs seemed to have a mind of their own. She had always known he was strikingly handsome, but seeing him now left her momentarily dazed.
When Lu Jiameng entered the living room, Loong Yujun was pulling out a chair for Yih Tianxi, inviting her to sit with gentlemanly grace.
Seeing this, Lu Jiameng felt a surge of anger flare up inside her. She shouted, "Loong Yujun, what are you doing!"
Yih Tianxi jumped at Lu Jiameng's sharp voice, glancing between her and Loong Yujun with confusion in her eyes.
"Jiameng, what are you doing here?" Loong Yujun's eyebrows knitted slightly as he looked at Lu Jiameng with a cold gaze, surprised by her arrival.
"What, you didn't want me to come? Afraid I'd see something?" Lu Jiameng sneered, striding over to them, her voice full of anger. "Loong Yujun, don't forget, I'm your girlfriend!"
"You've been back from the military for so long and haven't come to see me. I thought you were busy, but here you are with this little vixen!"
Her anger grew as she spoke, raising her hand to strike Yih Tianxi.
"Enough! We'll discuss this outside. Don't lay a hand on her!" Seeing Lu Jiameng's actions, Loong Yujun's expression turned dark. He grabbed Lu Jiameng's wrist, his voice icy.
Ignoring Jiameng's struggles, Yujun dragged her out. As soon as he let go, she pinched his arm hard and demanded angrily, "Yujun, you need to explain what's going on here! Otherwise, I'm not letting this go today!"
Yujun briefly explained how Su Heng, his best friend who had died saving him, had entrusted him with taking care of Tianxi. Hearing this, Jiameng's expression softened a bit.
"Yujun, do you really have to take care of her yourself? Why not let her stay in your small apartment and hire a nanny to look after her?" Jiameng suggested, still uneasy despite Yujun's explanation.
For some reason, the moment she saw Tianxi, Jiameng felt an inexplicable sense of threat and instinctively wanted her as far away from Yujun as possible.
"Jiameng, stop being unreasonable," Yujun replied, frowning and looking at her with a cold gaze, his voice tinged with impatience. "I've told you everything. Su Heng was my best friend, and he died saving me."
"His last wish was for me to take care of Tianxi, and since I promised him, I will do it."
She's already got him wrapped around her finger, Jiameng thought bitterly, biting her lip. Though reluctant, she knew from Yujun's indifferent expression that he wouldn't change his mind.
She put on a charming smile, shook Yujun's hand, and said in a soft voice, "Yujun, don't be mad. It's not that I don't want you to take care of her; I'm just worried you might be too busy."
