C16 Could It be Cured?

Tianxi glanced at the balcony, then back at him, hesitating before letting go, her voice tinged with fear, "You can't leave me alone, okay?"

"Director Lin, what's wrong with her? She wasn't like this before." Yujun glanced back at Tianxi, who was staring intently at him, and asked Director Lin in a hushed tone.

"Based on her symptoms and test results, it seems she has selective mental instability. She seems fine most of the time, but she overreacts to certain things," Director Lin explained calmly. "Did something happen to her before?"

"Her fiancé sacrificed his life for the country," Yujun replied, his voice heavy. "She hasn't been able to accept it."

"No wonder," Director Lin nodded, a hint of sympathy in his voice. "She doesn't want to forget her fiancé, so she's shut herself off. Judging by how much she relies on you, it seems she's mistaken you for him."

"Can she be cured?" Yujun asked, his voice filled with bitterness. For some reason, knowing she saw him as Su Heng left him feeling inexplicably lost.

A wave of guilt followed. If Su Heng hadn't saved him, he wouldn't have lost his life, and she wouldn't be like this.

"It's hard to say," Director Lin shook his head. "It's a matter of the heart, and she needs to work through it herself. When you get home, try to keep her spirits up. Once she's ready to let go of the past, she'll get better."

After thanking Director Lin, Yujun took Tianxi home.

Once home, Yujun poured some water and prepared her medication.

"I don't want to take medicine!" Tianxi glared at the pills in Yujun's palm, her eyes full of disdain. She pouted in protest, "You know I hate taking medicine, Su Heng."

"I’m perfectly fine, so why do I need to take medicine?"

"Tianxi, you caught a cold in the rain and you're still a bit weak. You need to keep taking the medicine for a while to fully recover," Yujun gently coaxed. "Be good and take your medicine so you can get better faster."

"No, I don’t want to!" Tianxi protested, covering her mouth with her hand to show her refusal.

Yujun's expression turned icy as he looked at Tianxi with a cold gaze. His voice, once gentle, now carried a stern edge. "Tianxi, stop being difficult!"

The chill in his demeanor was palpable, and his intense gaze made her relent. She lowered her hand and whispered, "Su Heng, please don’t be mad. I’ll take the medicine, okay?"

Instead of taking the medicine from his hand, she leaned forward and took the pill directly, her soft lips brushing against his palm, causing his heart to skip a beat. He remained composed, offering her a glass of water.

Tianxi swallowed the pill and then cautiously looked at Yujun, speaking softly, "Su Heng, I took the medicine. Can you please not be angry anymore?" She parted her lips slightly, showing her tongue to prove she had swallowed it.

Her eyes, clear and bright, were wide and pleading as she looked up at him.
