C19 I Am Unconscious
Lu Jiameng scoffed, "Tianxi, stop pretending. You know Su Heng is long gone. You're just faking illness to get Yujun's attention."
"Shut up!" Tianxi snapped, her emotions flaring. She reached out to cover Jiameng's mouth. "Su Heng is fine! Stop cursing him!"
"Keep pretending, Tianxi!" Jiameng pushed Tianxi away, her voice icy. "If Su Heng hadn't died saving Yujun and entrusted you to him, why else would Yujun treat you so well?"
Su Heng... dead... entrusted... Jiameng's words pierced through Tianxi's locked memories like a sharp dagger, flooding her mind with chaotic images she couldn't piece together.
"Ah!" Overwhelmed by a splitting headache, Tianxi let out a piercing scream before collapsing to the floor, unconscious.
Jiameng looked down at Tianxi with disdain. "Tianxi, what's the point? Yujun's not even here. Who are you putting on this show for?"
After a while, seeing no movement from Tianxi, Jiameng started to panic. She knelt down, shaking Tianxi and calling out, "Tianxi, Tianxi, wake up!"
When Tianxi didn't respond, Jiameng's face turned pale with fear. She quickly dialed 911.
At the hospital, Jiameng sat in the hallway, still in shock. She had only wanted to teach Tianxi a lesson, to make her leave Yujun alone. She never expected Tianxi was truly ill and that her words would trigger an episode.
"Jiameng, what on earth happened here?" Yujun's face was stormy as he hurried over, his dark eyes cold as they fixed on Jiameng. His voice was filled with a chilling intensity.
"I don't know," Jiameng replied, her voice a bit shaky. Under Yujun's icy gaze, she added quietly, "I just mentioned that Su Heng was dead. How was I supposed to know she'd react like that?"
"Jiameng, you've really outdone yourself!" Yujun's anger turned into a bitter laugh as he gripped her wrist tightly. His handsome face was even more striking with that smile, but there was no warmth in it, making Jiameng shiver.
His voice was even colder, "I told you Tianxi is unwell and can't handle stress, yet you went out of your way to upset her. How did I not see before how cruel you could be?"
"That's not true, Yujun, how can you say that about me?" Tears streamed down Jiameng's face as she looked at Yujun, feeling wronged. "I didn't mean to upset her."
Tianxi, Tianxi, it was always about her. What was so special about this woman that Yujun would scold her for her sake, even using her full name in anger?
"Enough, I don't want to hear your excuses!" Yujun's voice was cold and threatening. "Jiameng, I'm warning you, if anything happens to Tianxi, I won't let you off the hook!"
"Yujun, I know I was wrong. I'll take good care of Tianxi from now on, please forgive me," Jiameng pleaded, panic rising in her heart as she saw the undisguised disdain in Yujun's eyes.
Even though their relationship was a business arrangement set up by their families, she truly liked Yujun. This handsome man had long been etched in her heart, impossible to forget.
"No need!" Yujun snapped, pulling away from Jiameng, his gaze icy. "Stay away from Tianxi from now on. I can't risk you hurting her again."
With that, he turned and walked into Tianxi's hospital room.
Looking at Tianxi lying on the bed, Yujun felt a sharp pain in his heart. Her face was pale, and even in her unconscious state, she seemed to be in agony.
He gently took her hand in his, whispering softly in her ear, "Tianxi, don't be afraid. I'm here. I've always been here. Please wake up soon, okay?"
Outside the room, Jiameng watched Yujun's tender expression, and her heart seethed with jealousy. Her gaze turned to Tianxi, filled with resentment, her once pretty face now twisted with anger.
"Tianxi, just you wait. I won't let you get away with this!"
