C2 Please Feel Sorry for Her

At that moment, her face was pale, making her look especially fragile and endearing.

Lin Qing looked at the letter in his hand, and tears began to fall like rain, a choked sob escaping his throat.

Yih Tianxi hurriedly ran down the stairs, almost twisting her ankle as she rushed to Loong Yujun. She didn't care, though. Grabbing him tightly, her voice trembled, "What you said isn't true, right? Su Heng is okay, right?!"

Tianxi's grip on Yujun's arm was so strong it hurt, but he seemed not to notice, only looking at her with a complex expression.

The woman before him was frighteningly pale, her dark eyes stubbornly fixed on him, filled with despair and a hint of pleading. Her hands clutched him as if he were her last lifeline, utterly helpless.

He felt as if something was lodged in his throat, making it hard to breathe. Seeing his reflection in her eyes, he could only manage to utter a few difficult words, "Please, take care."

His voice was dry and offered no comfort, and he had no idea what else to say. He wished it had been him instead of Su Heng, so he wouldn't have to face her despair.

From the first glance, he knew she was Su Heng's fiancée, the woman Su Heng loved deeply, even entrusting her to his care in his final moments—Yih Tianxi.

Lin Qing, having weathered many storms, managed to suppress his tears and spoke to Tianxi, "Xi, listen to me, don't be like this. If Heng were here, he wouldn't want to see you this way."

Her expression was calm, but her swollen eyes and tear-streaked face revealed the sorrow she felt inside.

"I won't listen, I won't listen!" Tianxi covered her ears with both hands, shaking her head frantically, her expression a mix of desperation. "Heng promised he'd be back today. He will come back to see me!"

"We're not even married yet. How could he just leave me like this? I refuse to believe it!"

"Calm down," Yujun said, stepping forward to gently hold her hands, his voice cool but with a hint of concern.

Lin Qing looked at Tianxi with worry. "Xi, Heng's letter is right here. Whether you believe it or not, it's the truth."

Tianxi suddenly pulled away from Yujun, grabbed Heng's letter, and ran upstairs, locking herself in her room.

"Xi, please open the door. Don't do anything rash!" Lin Qing pleaded, pounding on the door, her voice filled with anxiety. "If anything happens to you, how will I ever face Heng?"

Tianxi, her hands trembling, held the letter, reading each word in the familiar handwriting. Her composure shattered, and she broke down, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Let it out, let it all out," Lin Qing whispered to herself outside the door, relieved to hear Tianxi's cries.

Yujun watched Lin Qing's weary face and listened to Tianxi's heart-wrenching sobs, feeling uneasy. He knew they needed time to process everything, so he quietly excused himself.

The next day.

"Xi, please open the door. You haven't eaten or drunk anything all day. You can't keep this up. It's not good for your health," Lin Qing called out, knocking on the door with urgency.
