C6 I Beg You
“Auntie, please, don’t make me leave. I want to be with Heng!”
Inside the house, Lin Qing listened to Yih Tianxi’s cries, tears streaming down her own face. She forced herself to speak coldly, suppressing her sobs. “Tianxi, listen to me. I won’t hold you accountable for Heng’s situation.”
“But from now on, you have no connection to our family. Don’t think you can set foot in our home again!”
She knew very well that Heng’s death wasn’t Tianxi’s fault. Yet, after Heng passed, Tianxi had been a shadow of her former self, looking more and more worn out each day. Lin Qing watched as she lost weight, her spirit seemingly gone.
Having already lost her son, Lin Qing couldn’t bear to lose this dear daughter-in-law too. She had no choice but to force Tianxi out, hoping she would leave this place of sorrow and eventually move on from the shadow of Heng’s death.
“No! Auntie, don’t make me go!” Tianxi sobbed, pounding on the door with her hands. “Auntie, I’ll do anything you ask, just please don’t make me leave!”
This place held too many memories of her and Heng. She had long considered it her home and couldn’t bear to leave.
“Stop trying, it’s no use!” Loong Yujun, who knew everything, stepped forward and gently took Tianxi’s wrist. “Auntie won’t let you back in.”
In just a few days, she had lost so much weight. Her clothes hung loosely, her chin more pointed, and her already delicate face seemed even more fragile, evoking a deep sense of pity.
Her pale face was streaked with tears, her dark eyes still brimming with them. The helplessness and sorrow in her gaze tugged at his heart, stirring an inexplicable ache.
His voice softened instinctively as he tried to comfort her. “Tianxi, come with me. I’ll take good care of you.”
At that moment, he wasn't thinking about Su Heng's advice; he was just instinctively trying to comfort the woman in front of him, not wanting to see her so heartbroken.
"Why should I go with you?" Yih Tianxi snapped, shaking off his hand with disdain. "Loong Yujun, I can't stand you. I don't need your help with my problems!"
She knew she was taking out her anger on him, but she couldn't accept help from the man who brought the news of Su Heng's death.
"Ma'am, I'm not leaving!" Yih Tianxi stopped banging on the door and suddenly dropped to her knees, her back straight and her gaze determined. She shouted, "I'll stay here until you let me in!"
Loong Yujun watched her frail yet fiercely stubborn figure with a complex expression, finally letting out a silent sigh. He had heard about her from Su Heng, knew she was always headstrong, but he hadn't expected her to be this obstinate.
He was surprised that even after Mrs. Lin had gone to such lengths, Tianxi still refused to leave. Since she insisted on waiting there on her knees, he could only stay with her.
Three hours had passed, and Yih Tianxi, already physically drained, began to sway, as if she might collapse at any moment.
Loong Yujun reached out to steady her, his cold voice tinged with concern. "Yih Tianxi, stop being so stubborn. Just give it up."
"Don't even think about it!" Yih Tianxi slapped his hand away defiantly. "I will never give up. No one can make me leave Su Heng!"
The summer weather changed in an instant, and the sky turned dark as a torrential downpour began.
