C3 CHAPTER 2

I just got my schedule and locker number from the old admin lady. How come she’s more cranky than I was. All she had to do was give the students their schedule and locker number. It was much easier than studying algorithms, right? What a weird lady.

FREAK DUDE! I got science, math, literature, and history on Monday. As for Tuesday, I had math, history, art, and literature. Wednesday, I had social, math, free period, and PE. For Thursday, I got music, english, science, and IT. Last but least, on Friday I had history, free period, english, and social. I didn’t know which day was worst and which day was better. For now, let’s just go to room 9.07.

Apparently, I arrived too early so the class was still empty. I liked to sit in the middle of the classroom. So, that’s what I’m doing now. While waiting for the teacher to come and the class already half full, there's someone approaching me. That person was Lulani.

“Hi, sorry to bother you. Is this seat empty?” Lulani asked me politely.

OH MY GOD! That's the first time someone talked to me. I was so shocked and stared at her dumbfounded. “Hi, y-yeah you can sit there.” I answered nervously.

“Heck, Azura, why were you answering her like that? Stop stuttering in front of a stranger. Pleaseee, you’re so uncool. No wonder no one wants to be your friend.” “Oh, shut up, you inner Azura. I know what I’m doing.” Was it only me who often fought with my inner self? I didn’t think so, no. Well, sometimes I realized that I like to self talk or fight with my inner self when I was nervous. The more I was nervous the more it got worse, so yeah bear with me, people. Pretty please.

“I thought I’m gonna be late on my first day of school.” Lulani said while panting. “Oh, my name is Lulani White. It’s nice to meet you.” She smiled at me. All I saw was how genuine her smile was.

“I’m Azura. Hey, you’re not from here are you? Your accent is different. OH MY GOD, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean anything bad.” I said panicking. OMG, Azura! Why did you comment on her accent? It’s not very nice, you know. I wanted to facepalm myself. I was so ashamed of myself, probably Terra too.

Lulani looked at me like I was the funniest person she ever met. She laughed and said, “Ahahaha, it’s okay Azura. I know you didn’t mean anything bad. I got that a lot you know, so I just ignored them. I’m from England, so yeah my British accent is thick. I just moved here a month ago because of my papa’s job. He’s an architect.”

Oh, sweet baby Jesus. I nearly had a heart attack. I thought I was going to make an enemy on my first day of school. Lulani looked like a nice girl. Maybe she wanted to be friends with me. “Ah, I see. No wonder your accent is different. I think your accent is cool. Hey, I know you're new here, maybe I can show you around the city.” I said excitedly and hopeful.

“Really? Thank you so much, my friend. Wait, can I call you friend? I don’t have any friends yet.” Lulani said carefully.

“Yes, you can. In fact, you’re my first friend too.” I said happily. Since our first encounter, we’ve become really close and unseparated.
