C6 Chapter 5

Star woke up in a whole new surrounding, it was actually an exquisite bedroom and she couldn't look around because of the ache in her neck and all over her body. She layed down back to sleep but then a single tear fell off, she had recalled the sinister look on Darlington's face as he had searched for anything to hit her with as he wasn't putting on a belt. He had found a club behind her door, why was there a club?

When he came close, the look on his face matched his dark brown shirt and grey jogger pants. "Look at me, Slave" he looked mad and crazy. He was going to end her and she had braced her self expecting the impact to her skull. It landed on her neck and she was sure she'd die because her bones breaking could be heard.

'that explains it'

"What explains what?"

"We are with the goddess"

"Why do you say so?"

"The room"

Star couldn't help but believe it to be true, she had never been in such luxury in her life and she felt at peace.

I'm dead.

With this in mind, she started to cry, the pain in her head sent her back to a state of Darkness.

Philip was outside the door the second he felt another stirring from inside him, she had woken up and he couldn't be happier.

"Alpha Philip" Samuel his Beta bowed to him, he turned his full attention to him

"Sam"

"How's our Luna? Has she regained conciousness?"

"I don't know, she's currently still sleeping when I came out from the room just now"

"Don't worry, I'm sure she'll be fine. So what are your plans now sir?" Sam's tone had changed slightly

"I'll wait for her to be conscious again. I haven't spoken to her yet and from the looks of everything, it hasn't been that long she shifted so her body is taking time to adjust, at least that's what the doctor says"

"Not about that, sir"

Philip then looked at Sam, his Beta didn't call him sir unless it was important and currently he couldn't think of anything more important than his sick mate whom he had yet to know her name.

"Then what is it about?" He questioned

Sam stared at his Alpha like he has grown two heads, he never knew that Philip could be this concerned about a girl, he knew Lunas were important but Pack wars should be avoided.

"Its about Darlington" Philip gave an 'oh' look of realization but seeing as that was his only reaction, Sam continued

"Philip, you took a person from him"

"He said she wasn't important to him and he kept calling her Slave" Philip said with disdain

"But you fought with him and injured him, he's an Alpha you know and that act of yours will not end well" Sam retorted

Oh but it will, Philip thought. He didn't regret it one bit, he had ran hard to that basement hoping to save his Mate and no one would ever imagine the horror or the pain he felt as that club landed twice on her head and neck. She had looked at the door, looked at him with those tears in her eyes her pain evident, her anguish rippling through him in waves.

He remembered Darlington's sinister smile as he turned to the doorway and on seeing him, the smile had changed to panic.

Philip could still feel the Older Alpha's jaw on his knuckle as he repeatedly punched him that day. His parents and Beta along with Darlington's wife and Beta had already made their way to the basement and his father pulled him off his target with a warning look, he understood and had picked his mate before walking across the room avoiding Darlington on the floor. They had only made it up the stairs and out the door before loud gasps could be heard and he turned just to see a large wolf staring back at him

He quickly gave her to his mother instructing her to take care of his mate and drive her back home to the pack doctor while crouched down and shifted, ripping his clothes in the process.

The fight lasted a good 20 minutes before Darlington was exhausted lying on the floor and too tired to stand. The people invited to the ceremony just looked at them because they knew better than to interfere in the fight between two Alphas.

A small stirring inside him was enough to bring him out of his mini flashback, he turned and walked into the room. Sam sighed following his Alpha in.

Star looked at her surroundings with amusement, the moon goddess had really taken time to prepare room for a lowly wolf like herself, she thought about her previous room and concluded that it couldn't come close to this beautiful haven.

The door to the room opened and Philip walked in.

Wasn't I supposed to be dead? She thought.

She quickly sat up and regretted it as the quick pain shot from her neck to her head leaving her with a headache.

"Take it easy kitten, we don't want you losing conciousness again now, do we?"

She hesitated and slowly shook her head, something about the man made her want to submit to him completely but that's what everyone in the pack wanted and she couldn't risk another beating.

"Good, let me see how you are doing" He said taking quick steps across the room and only stopping to realize that she was trembling, she was scared of him. He didn't want her to be scared of him.

"Please don't be scared, I won't let any harm come to you, I promise. I just want to protect you. Trust me" he said in a very audible whisper.

She looked at him, slowly nodding. He took that as invitation and completed the walk to her and very gently, he lifted her and placed her in front of him as he positioned himself on the bed. He was overwhelmed when he felt her slowly lean into him.

"Who is he?" She whispered for his ears only, Philip followed the quick darting of her eyes to his Beta who looked stunned to say the least.

Seeing that she couldn't talk much around others, he mindlinked his Beta while calling his name audibly with authority.

"Sam"

Seeming to understand, Sam bowed slightly before exiting the room.

Star bowed back ignoring half of the pain she felt. "He is my beta" , Philip's voice jolting her back to reality and only then did she realize that he was only replying her earlier question.

"His name is Sam"

"Oh" she nodded slowly again

"I never got to hear your name kitten" she blushed at the nickname, no one ever wanted to hear her name, no body wanted to know her, they only called her

"Slave" that name that diminished every value she held of herself, that name that meant she was lower than dirt

"Your real name, kitten" he growled very low making her panic a bit. She knew better than to annoy an Alpha and the Omega traits from her mother's side wasn't helping her. She realized that she had said the word out.

"I'm waiting" he touched her chin, turning her to face him

She relaxed in his touch, her trembling only evident in her voice. Star

"I can't hear you, darling" he cooed.

She felt heat crawl up her neck and her ear felt hot, she probably looked like a ripe tomato "Star. . ., My name is Starlight"

"your name sounds beautiful, just like you". No one had ever complimented her after her mom and that was ten years ago. She felt tears sting her eyes, she couldn't cry in front of the handsome stranger so she lifted her arm and wiped her eyes.

"Am I not dead?" She wanted to know that she was because she had stayed too long in this room and hadn't done a single chore, Chrystal would have none of it.

"You can't die yet, I just found my Mate and I'm going to protect her not let her die" Philip said quite amused that she wanted to die quite easily and nobody wanted to die. well until her.

Shaking, she tried to stand while muttering apologies under her breath. She needed to make lunch since she might have already missed breakfast, those Omegas would definitely see to it that she never got lazy again.

Philip was stunned and held her by the arms, "where are you going?"

"I'm sorry sir, I won't be lazy again, I thought I had died and I didn't go to make breakfast, I will go to make lunch" she said breathlessly while bowing her head and trembling as if she had seen a ghost.

Philip stared at her,did she not hear him say they were mates?, his heart was aching as she continued to plead for him not to hit her. Why would he ever...

"This is not the Soul lifting pack, I brought you to my Pack where you will be safe as my mate,and this is our room. You don't need to be scared at all, I will protect you and care for you" she relaxed a bit and then he pulled her to him, wrapping her in his arms, she felt safe a little.

"I'll keep you safe, Star I promise, just trust me" he sounded like he was hurt and her heart wanted to comfort him but she couldn't trust him completely.

Her thoughts eventually led her to sleep in his arms as she inhaled his sweet scent.
