Lia met Tin's gaze. " You don't mean that... right? " She wanted to say she didn't, but he had caused too much pain already.

" I'm sorry, I was -" she cut him off before he could continue. "I didn't want to hear your excuses then and I don't need them now." she walked past him and left the cabin. She stared into the cold sky *sigh* '𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘪'𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦'. She hated that expression Tin made.

She ran back to the abandoned cabin. As she approached the cabin she noticed smoke coming from the chimney. She slowed down and saw Tin sitting at the table with two plates of food. He looked drained out as if he hadn't slept in days. Her pride told her to walk away and let him wait. She gritted her teeth and walked toward the cabin. Tin spotted her and ran out with a blanket in hand. Once he reached her, he put the blanket around her. "Lia... please... please stop running from me. I went back. I didn't abandon you, you were sick so I went to find a spot where we can stay until you recovered but when I returned you weren't there. I was told you were beaten to death." he choked on the last word and a tear rolled down his cheek. Hadn't she been abandoned? " I blamed myself every day. If I had been there you wouldn't have taken the punishment. Then I saw you at the market, I ran after you but lost sight of you. I turned around to search in another direction and saw you across the street. I called your name and you turned around and saw me. I ran towards you but a carriage got in the way, I went around it but you were gone. Since then I searched endlessly for you. Hoping that what I saw that day wasn't just a hallucination." she looked up at him only to see tears streaming down his face.

"Tin-" Before she could say anything he collapsed. She caught him, she half dragged, half carried him inside. He was burning up, she was about to walk away when suddenly he reached out and caught her hand. "Please... don't leave me... don't go." she put her hand over his and sat down " Don't worry, I'm right here." he slowly opened his eyes and looked at her. "Promise you won't disappear again?" she chuckled "What are you? a child?' he tightened his grip on her hand. " Lia promise me." "I promise" his hand went limp and he fell asleep.

She went outside and took some snow from the trees and put them in a pot. Good thing Tin turned on the chimney. She set the pot on top of the chimney's oven and let the snow heat up. She step outside and looked at the sky. She knew what he said was the truth. She had seen him several times while she was in disguise, he would always be asking if anyone had seen a girl with long silver hair and silver eyes with flecks of gold. She should stalk up on bread again in a few weeks.

The girl and the man stood there facing each other, each of them waiting for the other to attack. The girl reached into her coat and took out a very familiar-looking dagger. Wait a second...
