C2 In Another Time

As they stood at the bottom of the mountain facing a strange town with lights almost everywhere even though it was night. They stood dumbfounded at the bottom of the mountain asking themselves where they were and how they got there. As they stood there, Bryce noticed that his arm was no longer broken but completely healed, like it was never there.

Daniel asked, "but how".

Bryce replied, "I don't know".

They walked into the town, admiring the buildings and other things they saw. Even how the people were dressed was different. Bryce being the oldest went over to lady nearby to ask where they were.

"You're in Beacon Hill, Boston, where else would you be", the lady replied.

Bryce thought to himself, "same town but why is so different". Then a thought struck his mind. He ask the lady the date and time.

she replied, "it's 12:43am, 2nd September, 2020" and walked away.

Bryce was dumbfounded as he was shook to hear what the lady told him. The others rushed to his side, they walked over to a nearby bench to sit and Bryce told them what the lady told him.

"Where have we been for two centuries, in that creepy forest", Wesley asked.

Daniel quickly opened the guide book flipping through then he stopped and started reading, "The forest us very tricky with time. Time spent in there is different from the time in the real world. For example, two hours spent in there could be two minutes,two years or even two centuries in the real world".

"If we were in there for two centuries then what about grandma", Jack asked.

"She could be dead, you expect her to wait for us for two centuries", Kevin said.

How can even say that", Wesley shouted as they started to argue. Bryce stopped them and said,

"Kevin could be right. Let's go to the mountain, we'll find out house if only it's still there".

They went to the mountain and walked up to find their house. A few minutes later they across a big mansion where their house used to be. They went closer to the mansion and they heard footsteps coming closer to the front door. A man who seems to be in his late twenties came out the front door and smiled at them.

"I've been waiting for you, come inside", the man said.

They went to mansion in to a dark foyer. The man said, "Lumière" and all the lights in the foyer lit up.

"You're a warlock", Bryce asked the man. The man replied yes. "My name is Charles Clinton and I'm a descendant of your grandma, and as you can see I'm also a warlock just like you, and I'll be teaching and training you how to do magic to protect the gems".

Bryce asked "wait, you know about the gems"?

"I'll answer all your questions tomorrow, right now it's too late and I'm tired. Go upstairs, you'll find your names on your designated bedrooms".

Charles climbs the stair to go to his bedroom but Kevin stops him and asked why they should trust him.

Charles answers, " you don't have to but you will with time. Now to sleep it's almost dawn.

The boys went upstairs to find their rooms. Bryce went into his room and his jaw dropped. The bed in the room was so big he went into the big bathroom and look around then went into the closet. His jaw drop again when he opened the closet door. It was bigger than his old room and fill with so many clothes and accessories. After looking around, he laid on the bed and immediately fell asleep.

Next day, it was almost noon when Bryce woke up. He went into the bathroom to freshen up but the modern items confused him a bit. He struggled a bit with what to do with what to do but eventually he was able to get it right. He brushed his teeth and showered. He went went into the closet and wore casual clothes.

He went downstairs to join Charles for lunch.

" So about the gems", Bryce said.

Charles answered, "well the amplifies the power of the of any supernatural creature it merges with. It doesn't merge with just any supernatural creature, you have to be special, like the five of you. If you're able to tap into the power of the gems the effects of you spell at least triples, but there are other abilities the they have that we don't know yet".

"And how are you going to teach us to tap into the power of the gems?" , Bryce asked.

"I'm not going to, you have to find to tap into it yourself", Charles replied.

"How special do you have to be for the gems to merge with you", Daniel asked.

"I don't know that either", Charles replied.

"Do you even know anything", Kevin asked and

Charles replied "you'd be surprised".

Kevin rolls his eyes and continues to eat.

Charles finishes his food. "I'm heading out, I'll be back before dark. And Incase any of you go to town be back before dark", as he heads out.

A few minutes later, Bryce decides to head out to have a look around the town.

"Can I come with you", Daniel asked.

"Of course", Bryce replied.

So the two went down to the town. Modern vehicles going about on the roads, people dressed and going about their lives.

"This is amazing", Daniel said.

Bryce couldn't help but nod.

They continued to explore whatever there came across. While walking they heard a voice calling for help. They followed the voice to an alley. They saw three middle aged men assaulting a girl around Bryce's age.

"Hey, let her go", Bryce shouted.

"Mind your own business", one of the men said.

"I'm saying this one more time let her go", Bryce shouted.

One of the men came over to Bryce and raise his arm to hit him, but Bryce punched the man in the stomach before he could hit him. The man bent down in pain and Bryce kicked him in the face and the man fell. Bryce kicked him again In the stomach until the man couldn't get up. The other two got came rushing over to the one on the ground. They came at Bryce both holding up a punch. Bryce punch one and dodged the other and kick him in the back pushing him towards Daniel. Daniel gave him a high kick to the face sending him to hit a wall. The other man came from behind and held Bryce firmly to himself squeezing him . Bryce hit the man in the face with the back of his head until he let go of him. Bryce punched the man for the last time in the face and the man fell. The men got up and ran away.

The two rush over to the girl to see if she was okay.

"My name is Emily", she said.

They also introduced themselves to her.

"I'm so thankful to you guy for helping me out, how could I repay you", she said.

"Well we're new in town, would you mind showing us around".

Emily agreed and three of them went around the town having fun. It was about to get dark so they parted ways. Bryce and Daniel went home.
