C13 Another Problem

I mastered courage and faced him after doing a breathing contest for a while.

"Sorry to bother you but please can you kindly show the way to Susan's bedroom?"

"What made you think I know her bedroom?"

He asked instead of answering me. It was good for a start, at least he didn't snub me.

"I don't know, just have the feeling you might know. After all, you live here in the same house with her?"

I replied to him. He chuckled and looked away after crossing his legs

"Well, find her. I am not here to aid anybody."

He said dismissively I rolled my eyes at the level of his arrogance, his rudeness is top notch.

"I don't blame him, if I'm not here, will I see him to ask for anything, talk more of tolerating his excesses."

I muttered and walked out in search of the bedroom. After going through a series of doors, I found the one I felt was hers and made to knock when I heard someone moan. I brought my ears closed to the door and it was Susan moaning. She is making out with Zain. I felt this knowing anger with me and before I knew it I was clutching the handle of the door with all my might. I heard a bang and I did not realize I fell. I had opened the door with force but how I fell was how I could not tell.

I stood up immediately and found two pairs of eyes looking at me. Susan was on top of Zain with her gown raised down. I sheepishly smiled at them and scratched my neck.

"Sorry I didn't know the door was not locked. Pardon me please"

I apologize to them.

Susan rolled her eyes and got down from Zain.

"Jenny, what do you want?"

"I am hungry and I want to prepare some but found nothing to prepare. I am just here to ask if there is anything to cook"

"Nothing, that's why you are here. Zain will give you some money and Owen will take you to the mall to get things you think we would need. Please use the door"

I opened and closed my mouth. Did she just dismiss me like that? For crying out loud, who does that?

Zain had his back on us the whole thing, I was not sure what he was doing but I do know he was engrossed in something, probably feel bad that I barged in on them. There was something I didn't miss from his reaction when I stood up after falling, the grateful look on his face. It was like he was thanking me for something I didn't know.

No need asking her who Owen is. I turned and left after closing the door behind me. I went into my room to nurse my hungry stomach which would not stop growling. I had lost track of the time which is unusual for me.

I will just wait till Zain gets the money across to me.

I rambled through my bag in search of my phone and when I saw it, I had missed calls from mom and Tasha. I was supposed to get across to them when we arrived.

I called Tasha first and she picked it up.

"I thought maybe Zain had sold you out"

She said the moment she picked the call. I chuckled at her silly words.

"Why would you think that,Tasha?"

"Why would I not think that? I called you severally and you did not pick and the fact that you were traveling with your ex, got me worried. Those exes would do anything, I don't trust them one bit"

"You don't have to worry. Zain literally did not give a shit about me. I am literally Invisible to him. I guess his niceness towards me was because of mom. I am not bothered about, just got another problem here"

"No way baby girl, what is the problem?"

She asked anxiously. I bet she was eager to hear what the problem is.

"There is an arrogant dude here whom I believe is a younger brother to Zain"

I replied and yawned.

"Hope he is not going to be a problem to you."

"I don't think he would be but he is just rude and you know I am allergic to rude people. I felt like slapping him earlier on"

I said pissed off and she chuckled at her end.

"I trust you to kick his butt if he misbehaves."

She said and I smiled.

"Thanks baby, I won't forget that. I just pray for grace to come because it seems it's not only Zain I have to be careful of but also the Owen guy."

"Sweet pie, I trust you to take care of yourself. Just know that no dude has the right to make you feel less of yourself. You have got to protect yourself and don't fall in love, for the sake of you"

I couldn't stop laughing hearing all that from her Tasha. Sometimes she behaves like my mom. She is very protective of me. If not that I don't like girls, I tell you we might have kicked up a relationship because she's bisexual. Sometimes I feel she takes me as a girlfriend but she knows what I feel about this whole lesbian stuff so she wouldn't go inch closer to me knowing that I will bite her ear off if she does.

"I won't fall in love, girlfriend. I have got to keep my love for you and you are alone and maybe if I return, we can consider a relationship"

Her end went silent and I knew right away that my word hit her and she might be considering it. She knows I am just joking but being the Tasha she is, she wishes I won't be joking.

"Tasha, you know I'm joking, so don't overthink yourself. I have got to go now, bye"

I said and hung the call immediately.
