C35 Brothers Are Like That

3 pm.....

I stood in front of the wall mirror, admiring myself. I was ready for my date with Lucas. A day in Reben castle and I am already going out with a guy.

I had told Susan about it and she had dismissed me without a word. Her hormones are getting worse by the day.

Earlier today she racked the house with a shout, I don't know what transpired between her and Zain but the scenario she displayed was not pleasant. At some point, I had to pity Zain and all this was happening, Owen never came out of his room to ask what was going on.

I had not crossed paths with him after our encounter this morning.

I prepared rice and sauce earlier for lunch and served Zain his. He had not said a word to me since morning. I was not so happy with it but the happy part was greater.

I returned my focus to the mirror and strengthened my blouse. I was putting on a red blouse and blue high-waist jeans with a black belt and black heels with a red purse. I applied a red gloss and I must say, I like what I see.

I smiled to myself.

"You are beautiful, girlie"

I praised myself.

Lucas is coming here to meet me and has asked me to call him when I am done. I already gave him the address of the place. Susan has managed to give it to me.

I picked up my phone and put a call to him.

He picked at once,

"I will be there in a jiffy"

He said and hung up, I pulled the phone from my ear and stared at the screen.

He did not even bother to ask if I was done and he concluded like that. What if I was calling him to cancel the appointment?

While I was contemplating whether to go outside and wait for him or not, a call came into my phone, Moris was on the line. I felt bad, I promised I was going to get back to him yesterday which I never did.

"Hi Moris"

I said softly and he sighed.

"You never called back yesterday as you promised"

He said frustrated.

"I am really sorry. I didn't mean to keep you hanging. I got caught up with helping my sister that when I was done, it was late in the night and I thought not to disturb you because I was sure you were asleep"

I explained to him. I had to lie to him, I just hope he understands.

"But you know that I needed you most last night. I could not sleep, I was restless throughout the night and when I called you, your phone was not reachable."

He complained bitterly. I was sorry for lying to him but not sorry that he had to go to bed with an erect dick.

"I am sorry darling, hopefully, a thing like that will not happen again. Being here is changing things and I don't even have time for myself. I just can't wait to come back to you"

He sighed for the second time,

"Okay, hope we can do something tonight?"

He asked calmly,

"Sure we can. I will call you later dear"

I briefly told him and hung up instantly. I heaved a sigh and frowned. If Moris continues like this, I would have no choice but to end things with him. I was already bad when I met him but he made me worse which I don't appreciate anymore. I loved that side of me before but not anymore.

A notification popped up on my screen and it was a text from Lucas telling me he is right in the area.

I quickly exited my room and bumped into Zain. He was clutching his car keys which means he is about to go out.

He lingered his stares on me for a while then walked off without a word. I took in a breath and followed him behind, wondering what was running through his mind which I was dying to know.

He entered his car and I walked past his car and headed to the white Sedan packed a few inches away from the house.

Lucas sighted me and stepped down from his car and started walking towards me, he met me halfway and kissed my two cheeks then looked behind.

I smiled at him and followed his stares only to realize Zain was right behind me.

"Good afternoon to you and you are?"

Lucas greeted him and then asked him who he is. My heart started beating so fast, wondering the response Zain would give Lucas.

Zain extended his hand to him and smiled charmingly,

"I am Zain and Jenny's brother, who are you?"

I was speechless. Did he say my brother? I saw the mellow look on Lucas' face when Zain mentioned he is my brother. And for Zain to turn the table around, I had to save the situation.

"I am her…."

"Lucas here is a friend, we just met"

I cut Lucas in and answered. I don't know why I had to care about Luca's response. I was afraid that he would say I am his girlfriend when I am not. Lucas narrowed his eyes at me and I smiled nervously at him. Zain watched me keenly and after a while looked at Lucas.

"She means everything to me, don't mess with her"

Zain said and walked back to his car, entered it, and drove off leaving Lucas and me staring after him.

"Your brother looks rigid, he must be very protective of you"

Lucas stated and offered his hand to me,

I took it and smiled,

"What can I say, brothers, are like that"

I replied and he affirmed.

"Shall we?"

"We shall"

I told him and we walked to his car. When we got there, he opened the door for me and I got in. He went to his side and drove off afterwards.
