C45 Worst Mistake
Writer's Point of view…..
Zain and Susan ate their meal, while he could not stop thinking about Jenny. The little scenario in the kitchen has shown she missed him, and it was a good start for her not to deny it.
He knows she refused to stay in the living for a while because of him, which is the truth.
Susan and Owen occasionally glance at themselves, with the hope that Zain's mind was not there with them. He actually saw them at some point but pretended not to see them.
He finished eating and excused himself with the dirty dishes and headed to the kitchen.
He came out of the kitchen and walked towards Jenny's room. He knows his wife will not miss him much because Owen will keep her busy.
He got to the room and gently opened the door. Her light was, he flipped the switch and her room light came on.
He walked to the bed and found her asleep with her lips parted a little.
He caressed her chin and she stirred in her sleep but still did not open her eyes.
She looks so vulnerable and adorable. There is nothing he wants right now but to kiss her right there. It would not be bad if he does.
He bent to kiss her, but a message came into her phone. The phone was beside her pillow.
Reading her message was wrong, yet then he picked up the phone and opened it.
It was a message from Tasha, and he thought of dropping it, but then something urged him to read the text.
“I know Zain is the reason you don't want to accept my proposal. Even after he broke your heart and dumped you still yawn for his love and crave for his touch. You can't accept the fact that he is married, not just married but married to your sister, yet you are lusting after him day and night.
Zain can never be yours, baby, give me a chance, let me show you the world of bliss, let me take you on this journey of pure love. You know I can't do you wrong, I love you, Jenny”
Zain knows he can't be mistaken about the gender of the sender, it's a lady which he is trying to understand if this lady is hitting on Jenny. It's actually clear that she is and from what she said in her text, Jenny still loves him.
Was he supposed to be happy that his ex has not stopped loving him? The truth is, he has not stopped loving her either, and that's the reason he is in her room right now.
He dropped the phone and pecked her lips instead.
“Good night Jenny"
He said and left after putting off the light.
Zain did not go back to the living room, he headed into his room instead.
It was obvious his wife was still in the living room doing whatever he didn't know.
He picked up his towel and headed into the bathroom.
Zain ran a bath for himself, but instead of going into the bath, he sat on the tub Ray.
He used to be so happy as of two years back before he got married to his wife.
Jenny was the only woman he ever loved who loved him back. Zain can't tell why he even left her for Susan. The worst decision of his life.
He can still change the mistakes of the past, but one among three of them will be hurt.
He took in some breath and stood up to have his shower.
Ten minutes later, he came out of the bathroom and saw Susan on the bed, frowning.
“Did you actually leave me out there to come and have your shower?”
Susan angrily spitefully.
Zain watched her for a while, then turned his back on her.
“Were you expecting me to drag you to the room when you were obviously having a good time”
He retorted and Susan felt shocked. She was not sure whether he had seen anything or could it be the reason he never returned to the living because he saw her making out with Owen.
But come to think of it, who in her right senses would make out with another man when the husband is within reach?
Zain did not see anything, he was just assuming, and the lingering of Owen's fragrance in the air could not make him wrong.
“What do you mean by that?”
She asked with her voice shaking. Zain smiled to himself.
“It could mean anything wifey. It is unclear to me why you are getting yourself worked up. I came here to take a shower, probably come back to pick you up later and you are back in the room by yourself, then you are picking a fight already."
Susan felt relieved when all he said had nothing to do with him catching her with Owen. But they need to be cautious if not one day Zain will catch them and that will be the end of the marriage which she wants, but it will not end in a good way, and that she doesn't want.
“Sorry, you know, pregnancy and hormones.”
She apologized to him, blaming her actions on pregnancy.
Zain shrugged off his shoulders,
“You are forgiven, darling.” He knows that both of them are guilty as charged.
He got himself in his pajamas and told Susan to go take her bath while he waited for her.
She agreed and went into the bathroom to have her shower.
Susan took twenty minutes inside the bathroom. She came out and dressed up as well then climbed the bed ready to sleep.
Zain helped her into the bed and made to spoon her but perceived Owen's fragrance, instead of being angry, he smiled and laid on his space.
Susan knew he was going to snuggle her to him and was surprised when he laid down. She tried to understand what had made him stop.
She could not tell, so she gloomily closed her eyes and went to sleep.
Zain was fast asleep before she could decide to sleep.
