C13 Chapter 12 – The First Farmland
The first rays of sunlight spread across the island.
Aiden stepped out of his wooden hut and stretched his arms.
The cool morning breeze carried the smell of wet soil.
His eyes immediately fell on the bundle of Wild Golden Wheat and Wheat Seeds lying beside the hut.
Today had only one goal.
Build his first farmland.
---
After eating a piece of roasted Fang Rabbit meat, Aiden picked up his Stone Axe and walked around the camp.
He wanted to choose the perfect place.
"The farmland should be close to water..."
"But not so close that it floods."
After several minutes of searching, he found a flat patch of land about twenty meters from the freshwater pond.
It received plenty of sunlight.
The soil looked soft.
"This should work."
He placed a stick into the ground to mark the area.
Then he opened the Blueprint Menu.
Nothing.
"No farmland blueprint?"
Aiden frowned.
"So not everything needs a blueprint."
He picked up a sturdy branch and began loosening the soil by hand.
It was slow.
Very slow.
After only ten minutes, his shoulders started aching.
"There has to be a better way."
He remembered the sharp edge of his Stone Axe.
Instead of chopping, he used it to break the hard ground.
The work became much easier.
By noon, he had cleared a small square of land.
It wasn't beautiful.
But it was enough for his first crop.

Aiden smiled.
"So experience comes from effort..."
Not from pressing a button.
He liked that.
---
He carefully planted six Wheat Seeds into the soft soil.
After covering them with earth, he carried water from the pond using two large leaves folded into makeshift bowls.
It took several trips.
By the time he finished watering the field, his clothes were soaked.

Congratulations!

A warm feeling spread through Aiden's chest.
"This is the first thing I've grown in my life."
He wasn't just gathering food anymore.
He was producing it.
That single change made him feel closer to building a real home.
---
As he rested beside the pond, a familiar figure appeared.
The small Forest Hopper quietly hopped toward him.
Its long ears twitched.
Instead of keeping its distance, it stopped beside the wheat field.
The little creature sniffed the fresh soil.
Then it looked at Aiden.
Aiden slowly reached into his pouch and took out one Sweet Berry.
He gently placed it on the ground before stepping back.
"If you're hungry..."
"You can have it."
The Forest Hopper remained still for several seconds.
Finally...
It picked up the berry.
It didn't run away immediately.
Instead, it let out a soft chirping sound.
"Chi... Chi..."
Then it disappeared into the bushes.

Hidden Relationship Progress Updated
Forest Hopper Trust

Aiden blinked.
"So..."
"I can build trust with creatures?"
No further explanation appeared.
The System simply left him to figure it out.
---
The afternoon passed peacefully.
Aiden collected more stones near the rocky hill.
While searching, he noticed several pieces of dark brown rock sticking out of the ground.
Unlike ordinary stones, these felt much heavier.
He struck one with his Stone Axe.
Clang!
A metallic sound echoed through the hill.
His eyes widened.
"This isn't ordinary rock..."
The System appeared.
---

Aiden smiled.
"So this is iron."
He couldn't use it yet.
But now he knew where to find it.
He marked the location by stacking three stones nearby.
"I'll come back when I'm ready."
---
As the sun began to set, Aiden returned to camp.
The small wheat field looked peaceful under the orange light.
The freshly watered soil reflected the evening sky.
He sat beside the campfire and opened his Survival Journal.
---
Survival Journal – Day 8
- Good farmland needs water and sunlight.
- Farming takes patience.
- Not every System feature is explained.
- Friendly creatures may become allies.
- Iron exists on this island, but I still need a furnace.
---
He closed the journal and looked toward the stars.
Eight days ago...
He had arrived with nothing.
Now he had:
- A wooden hut.
- A campfire.
- A Stone Axe.
- A Woodcutter profession.
- A growing wheat field.
- The trust of his first peaceful creature.
It wasn't much.
But it was a beginning.
Just as Aiden prepared to sleep...
A loud System announcement echoed across every island.
[Global Announcement]
The first player has successfully unlocked a Rare Talent.
Reward Granted.
The World Age Progress has increased slightly.
The message disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.
Aiden looked toward the dark horizon.
"A Rare Talent..."
"So some people are growing much faster than me."
He wasn't jealous.
If anything...
It reminded him of one simple truth.
The world would never wait for anyone.
And tomorrow...
He would have to keep moving forward.
