Morning arrived under a sky filled with dark gray clouds.
Aiden had barely slept.
The howls from the previous night still echoed in his mind.

He climbed down from his hut and began his usual routine.
First, he checked the wheat field.
The stalks swayed gently in the morning breeze.
Golden grains were beginning to form.
A smile appeared on his face.
"My first harvest is close."
Next, he inspected the spike traps.
One of them had been triggered.
The sharpened wooden stakes were stained with dark red blood.
Aiden crouched beside the trap.

The rocky hill stood to the west.

His camp looked tiny from above.
