C11 Eleven
As soon as the chirping of the birds could be heard by waleed, he woke
Anisah up and they both made their way out of the hotel together and entered into his car.
"Why are you smiling?" Waleed shot at Anisah, he Wondered what was making her eyes glitter with joy.
"Nothing" she said and he hissed and ignited the car.
"Oh my, Jamal" Anisah said the minute she heard her phone ringing in her school bag.
"Hello, Jam jam" she said the minute she picked up the call.
"Hey precious stone, how are you?" He asked, the phone was a little Loud so Waleed could hear what they were both saying.
"I'm fine, how's your mum's health?" She asked. Waleed stared at her through the mirrors and he could see how happy she was talking to Jamal. With his attention completely deviated from driving, he almost came in contact with a tree but instantly dodged it. The screaming of Anisah could be heard by Jamal who felt extremely scared, he tried asking her what had happened but her phone died immediately.
"Shit! This is all your fault!" Waleed banged his hand on the steering wheels roughly.
"How is it my fault?" Anisah was trying very hard to revive her breath while she asked.
"You and that stupid Jamal, tell me, why do you even like him?. He is not even good for you and you know that" Waleed said. All his veins were Popping on his forehead, he was extremely Angry.
"Was it I and Jamal that held your hand while you drove?" Anisah asked. Waleed was getting on her nerves already, what did Jamal ever do to him. Anisah thought.
"Get out of my car" he said, Anisah stared at him in bewilderment. Was he serious.
"Huh?" She wanted to make sure he was joking.
"I said get your fucking ass out of my car bitch!" He said loudly. Anisah immediately flinched at the loud tone of Waleed's voice.
She stared at him one more time before opening the door to the car and stepping out "Are you seriously gonna leave me on a highway?" She said and he hissed and reversed back wards before driving away with great speed. He did leave her on the highway.
"What an arrogant man" Anisah muttered with her hands resting on her waist. She did not know what to do, to make matters worst her phone was in Waleeds car. When the car had pulled over roughly, it fell from her hand.
"Oh my god now it's about to rain" she made a very sad pout when the rain began to fall slowly and the at a very high pace. It was raining heavily and there was no where to get shelter. Anisah felt her heart sink in fear as the whole place became blurry, the rain was making it hard for her to see.
"Oh my God" she sat down on the floor. Her body was shaking, the cold was beginning to penetrate into her skin and into her bone.
"Somebody help me please" she began screaming for help to anybody who passes with his or her vehicle. But it was of no use.
Waleed on the other hand was already on his way home. but when the rain started, he felt a pang of guilt in him and decided to turn around and go save Anisah. He drove towards where he had left her and saw Anisah laying on the floor, lifeless. She had passed out due to the cold. "Anisah" he yelled, fright engulfing His heart.
"What have I done!?. Ya Allah" he picked her up bridal style and ran towards the backseat of his car and placed her there. He felt great guilt in his heart.
He drove in high speed towards the nearest hospital and got her admitted immediately. He cursed the minute he saw her face in the light, it was looking pale and weak. This was all his fault, and he knew perfectly.
After some minute of intense car from The doctor towards Anisah, they were able detect what was wrong and came out to inform Waleed. "Are you her husband?" The doctor said and Waleed rose a brow and nodded in the negative.
"No, what's wrong with her please?" He asked very calmly.
"It's seems she is coming up Pneumonia" the doctor said and Waleed cursed himself beneath his breath.
"But is she okay now?, And is she awake?" He asked and the doctor nodded at both his questions.
"And yes, you may go see her" the doctor said and he nodded and walked into the room in nfront of him. On entering the eyes of Anisah stared back at him in tears. She could remember how the rain had almost rendered her breathless. He huffed and took a seat in front of her. It was like a staring contest with a bit of water works coming from Anisah.
"I'm sorry" he breathed.
She didn't say anything, the silence was strong. She was indeed hurt by the way he cared not about her and had left her under the rain. "I'm sorry Anisah" he placed his right arm on her right hand. "I was a jerk and I shouldn't had left you on the highway" he apologized sincerely while staring dip into her dripping eyes.
"I almost lost my life" she finally spoke. With tears choking her.
"I'm sorry" he said in the most calmest of voice. Anisah felt a bit relaxed knowing he was sincerely apologizing.
"Hello, Anisah dear" the doctor walked in with a file in his left hand.
"Yes" she lifted her eyelids slowly.
"Your heart is normal, but you have to be under bed rest for two days. Which means no going out and under no circumstances should you Receive cold air. That is, no fan, no AC and no cold water please" the doctor said and Waleed nodded and so did Anisah.
"Can I leave?" Anisah Asked, the smell of the hospital was choking her.
"Yeah sure" the doctor said and Anisah nodded.
The hospital bills were cleared by Waleed. After that he took Anisah into his car and decided to drive to his house "I don't want to go to your house, take me to my mum please" she mouthed when Waleed was taking a turn towards the route that led to his house.
"No. I do not want you bothering her please, you do remember she's hypertensive? Don't you?" He asked and Anisah nodded. He took that as a permit to drive her home and that was what he did, he drove her to his house. Immediately they got inside the house, he helped her upstairs despite her plea for him not to bother.
"I'll go make you dinner" he said and Anisah who was seating on the bed in her room made a face that made him giggle. Yeah Waleed giggled at her expression which was so foreign to Anisah.
"I can cook, I'll shock you" he said. He turned around and headed to his room to freshen up before cooking. Anisah on the other hand decided to do the same.
****
Anisah got dressed into her black pajamas with a blue scarf tied to her head. She could smell something burning, she knew very well that it was Waleed. He had certainly created catastrophe.
She walked through her door and headed downstairs. She headed towards the kitchen and she could hear Waleed coughing terribly so she decided to cover her nose Incase she also begins coughing like him.
"What are you co...." she could not complete her speech as a Waleed covered in flour faced her. She laughed hard until she mistakenly slipped and fell. Even in her state, she continued laughing hard which got Waleed laughing as well.
"What were you trying to prepare?" She asked between laughters.
"Dan wake" he said and she chuckled.
"How's that going?" She asked.
"Terrible" he dropped the chefs hat that laid on his head down in a dramatic manner.
"Noddles would have been just perfect, instead of going through this much stress" she said. "You know what, go and clean yourself up while I cook" she added.
"No way, you ain't cooking nothing. You need rest" he said and she chuckled.
"I'm okay!, please go clean up. I reckon you would not love the way in which you look at this moment if you are to see it" she said. He looked at her for a while before Agreeing.
He left for his room while Anisah was left to cook, she used the onions and pepper already grinder by him to mix the sauce for the nodded.
Waleed on the other hand had gotten himself cleaned up and decided to head to the kitchen to lend Anisah a hand. On reaching the kitchen, the beautiful sight of Anisah trying to bring the hot pot down from the fire was what welcomed him.
She was using her scarf which only meant she had no scarf on and her long beautiful hair was opened to his gaze.
