C11 Chapter 11
It had been two years since Alex's tragic death, and the pain still lingered. But life had moved on, albeit slowly. Jules, who had once been a shell of herself, had found a new purpose. She had thrown herself into her studies, and her determination had paid off. She had graduated with top honors and was now a lecturer at a prestigious university.
Emily couldn't be prouder of her. Jules had taken the tragedy and turned it into something positive. She was inspiring a new generation of students, and her story was a testament to her strength.
As Jules stood in front of her class, lecturing on psychology, she seemed confident and in control. But Emily knew that the pain still lingered. It was a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there was always hope.
Jules's eyes scanned the room, still lecturing on psychology, when her phone buzzed discreetly in her bag. She ignored it, thinking it was just a student messaging her. But then, her phone buzzed again, and this time, she felt a jolt of unease.
She quickly glanced at the screen, and her heart skipped a beat. A notification from her bank. She swiped to read it, trying to keep her composure.
"Huge amount credited to your account... 50 million... transferred from..."
Jules's mind reeled. 10 million? What was going on? She didn't recognize the transfer, and she certainly hadn't made it.
The room started to spin, and Jules's voice faltered. Her students looked up, noticing the change in her demeanor. "Ah, sorry...let's...let's take a short break," she stammered, rushing out of the room.
She stepped into the corridor, phone in hand, and dialed her bank's emergency number. "Hello? This is Jules...I think there's been a mistake..."
The bank representative's voice was calm, but Jules could sense the seriousness. "Ma'am, I'll look into it. But first, can you confirm if you know the source of the transfer?"
Jules's mind was racing. Who could have done this? And why?
