C4 Chapter 4
Jules sat in the interrogation room, facing Lia. Lia's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, Jules felt a chill run down her spine. Lia's gaze was pure hatred.
"Lia, why did you attack me?" Jules asked, her voice steady.
Lia didn't flinch. She just glared at Jules, her eyes burning with a silent fury. She didn't say a word.
The detective tried to intervene. "Lia, it's better if you cooperate. Tell us why you did it."
Lia's gaze didn't waver from Jules. Her lips were pressed tight, like she was holding back a storm of words. But she didn't say anything.
Jules felt a shiver run down her spine. What was Lia hiding? What had Jules done to deserve this kind of hatred?
The silence stretched, uncomfortable. Finally, the detective stood up. "Alright, Lia. You can go back to your cell. We'll talk later."
Lia didn't move. She kept staring at Jules, her eyes full of venom. Then, without a word, she turned and walked out with the officers.
Jules let out a breath. "What just happened?"
The detective shook his head. "Looks like Lia's not talking. We'll keep investigating."
Just as everyone thought Lia was walking out, she suddenly broke free from the officers and lunged at Jules with a small fruit knife she'd hidden in her clothes. The detective reacted fast, throwing himself in front of Jules to block the attack - and the knife sliced into his arm instead.
Lia screamed, her face twisted in rage. "I HATE YOU JULES! JUST DIE!" She tried to stab again, but the other officers tackled her to the ground, wrestling the knife away.
Chaos erupted in the room. "CODE RED!" someone shouted. The wounded detective stumbled back, his arm bleeding.
Jules was frozen in shock. "Lia...what..."
Lia was dragged away, still screaming "I HATE YOU JULES!" as she kicked and struggled against the officers.
The detective winced, gritting his teeth as medics rushed to help him. "Get...get Jules safe..."
