C7 Chapter 7
Detective Thompson's phone rang, cutting through the tension. He answered, his expression growing grimmer by the second.
"What is it?" Emily asked, her voice tight with concern.
The detective's eyes flicked to Jules before he spoke. "There's been a...incident. At your school, Jules."
Jules's heart skipped a beat. "What happened?"
The detective's voice was measured. "A student was found...Alex. He's dead."
Jules's eyes widened in shock. "Alex?! No way..."
Alex was a friend, a classmate. Jules couldn't process it. "What...what happened?"
The detective's gaze was serious. "Looks like murder. We need to get you two to a safe place. Now."
Emily was already on her feet, pulling Jules with her. "Let's go."
The detective led them out of the station, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Who was behind this? And was Jules next?
The situation is taking a darker turn. Alex was murdered via a typed letter with rat poison smeared on it. He read the letter, unaware of the poison, then ate a sandwich...and died in the bathroom.
The CCTV footage shows Alex holding the letter before entering the school premises, but there's a significant gap in the evidence. There's no CCTV footage showing how Alex got the letter, making it seem like it appeared out of thin air.
Detective Thompson is working on the theory that the murder was premeditated, and is now investigating who had access to the school grounds and who might have had a motive to kill Alex.
Jules is getting increasingly anxious, and is starting to make connections between the events. "Mom, this is connected to Lia, right?" She's worried, and with good reason. The events are escalating, and it's unclear who might be next.
The police are reviewing the CCTV footage again, looking for any clues that might have been missed. They're also interviewing Alex's friends and classmates, trying to find out if he mentioned anything unusual or if anyone saw anything suspicious.
The investigation is ongoing, but one thing is clear: whoever is behind this is ruthless and willing to kill to cover their tracks.
