“The lecture series is almost over,” Geraldine said to Silvia. They were walking together to the cafeteria after another of Silvia’s lectures. Geraldine had invited Silvia for coffee, and Silvia hadn’t said no.

“Good thing,” sighed Silvia. “I’m starting to get hoarse.”

“I think it’s too bad,” replied Geraldine with a glance in Silvia’s direction
