CHAPTER 2

(Mission 1)

Wolves’ Clan

Power Room~

“What did you find out, Mica…” Bruce asked, walking into the power room, as he stood in front of the projecting screen.

Right beside him is Mica, working on the computer system in front of her, and at the same time popping a gum in her mouth.

She is known as a tech tycoon, in charge of tracking, hacking and also good at flirting. She relaxed her back on the swivel, turning it from side to side, letting out an exhaling sigh

“I have just gotten the location of ‘the mask’ hideout, he seem to be very smart running all the way to Mexico to hide his ugly ass” she smirked

Bruce chuckled

“Well, his ugly ass has been found, he won’t need to hide any longer. The boss needs to hear this; just keep in touch with whatever is going on. Hmm..i think we are going back on the mission of finding the invisible mask” he smirked, tapping her shoulder. She let out a croak smile, as she watched him head out.

She turned to look at her partner whom she caught staring intently at her with a lustful smile

“What are you staring at?” She scoffed

He shrugged

“Just looking at the two thieves beside the poor cross on your chest” He winked

She scoffed again, rolling her eyes. She wouldn’t blame him for staring; she is currently putting on a shirt which barely covers her chest, making her boobs pop out like sweet cherries. She doesn’t care about her dressing; she is the clan slut by the way.

“Just mind your business, Jayden. You can never get a taste of it.”

Jayden drew his chair closer to hers, drawing his face closer to hers

“So if I don’t get a taste of it, who then will…oh…don’t tell me you are doing this to get the boss into your pants” he smirked, referring to Bruce. She rolled her eyes, pushing his face away

“You know Jayden, it’s better you face your damn job than going about pricking into other people’s business. Damn you” She snorted, grabbing her mouse and she began clicking and scrolling, in order not to pay more attention to him.

Kyla’s Office

Knocking on the door, Bruce drew in a quick breath before entering, after hearing a ‘come in’

“Boss” He greeted with a curt bow; he walked closer to where she sat. Her two legs, gently placed on the study table in front of her, with a cup of wine in her right hand; she carefully studied the file she held in her hand.

“Any news from Mica yet” She asked, ignoring his greetings, as she sips from her wine

“We have found the location where ‘The Mask’ is hiding. He is in a small town called Taxco in Mexico. I think it’s time we strike Boss. He won’t be expecting us this time, so he will feel relaxed until we attack.” He stated, watching her, as she paid more attention to the file in her hand, rather than him.

“Why do you think now is the best time to strike?” She asked, this time, looking directly into his eyes. He cleared his throat, thinking of better words to use, as not to piss her; because she doesn’t seem to be in a happy mood.

“The Mask has been on the run for a long time now; and not just that, he derives joy in hunting down our members and getting any contract that is meant to be ours, for his clan. Also remember that he also has some of our Clan properties, lying in his warehouse.

I think now is the best time to hook him; he is in a small town, without many guards, he won’t be expecting any attack, because according to Mica; no one knows about his whereabouts aside from his P.A. She had to hack into his email to get the information” he explained. Kyla sighed, dropping the glass in her hand as she stood to face him.

He was clearly watching her every move, as she seemed not to be interested in what he found out.

“It’s a trap” She voiced out; he was forced to scoff but decided to hold it in.

“What do you mean by trap..boss?”

“The Mask’ won’t be too careless to reveal his location to anybody. As he is being called, he is a ghost in human self. He knows how to catch his prey, and I won’t want us to fall for that” She muttered.

Bruce shrugs, sighing briefly before looking back at her. He seems to be out of words for the first time. He wouldn’t have backed out easily, but with the case of ‘The mask’, he believes Kyla is right with whatever observation she has made.

The mask has been in hiding for ten years now, and not even the ex-boss or Kyla who is currently running the clan has a clue about where he is. Mica is considered smart when it comes to ITech, but he believes she was outsmarted this time.

“But I have a better option. According to my research, ‘The mask’ is having a family who resides in the northern part of the country. The mansion he built is clearly hidden far from the city; which precisely will be in the countryside. If we really wanna get to him, I think we should start from his weak point.” She smirked; taking up the glass, as she gently sips its content

“And that will be his family” Bruce completed her statement with a wicked smile. She nodded

“Fine..so when are we moving? We have been really sick without a mission for a while now”

“We move tomorrow. I have everything planned out, but we need to involve the members, and chip them into the plan. Assemble the senior members in the power room; I will be there in 12 minutes.”

“Ok boss” Bruce responded, taking the exit door.

Power Room~

“Do you think it’s right that we attack now, I mean, we haven’t even gotten enough time to rest after our last mission” Autumn whined, as the other gang members glared at her. She is considered lazy, but crazy in bow and arrows

“You are such a baby, our last mission was just last two weeks, I mean, that’s a long time to have enough rest” Jayden smirked, nudging her shoulder with his fist. She hissed

“Just mind your business Mr. Clown, I ain’t talking to you” Autumn resorted

He smirked

“Gosh..I was thinking I’m late, but boss isn’t here yet” Kelvin, another clan member stated as he rushed in; followed by Moonlight, the white hair lady.

“Hey guy” Kelvin jeered as he exchanged a fist shake with Jayden, who winked at him when his gaze fell on Moonlight. He smirked

Kelvin laughed, as they exchanged weird eye contact

“What’s funny, what are you eye discussing, without wanting us to know about” Autumn asked, as they both gave her that funny face, before bursting into laughter

“Huhn….I don’t know why I spend my time with losers” she mumbled, walking towards Mica’s seat

“Any problem with the boys” Mica asked, seeing her expression

“They suck…always getting on my nerves” She frowned, folding her arms. Mica shrugged

In the next five seconds, Wizard came in, hanging a large back on his shoulder. He dropped it right on the table, before taking a seat. He picked out a cigarette from his pocket and placed it in his mouth, bringing out a lighter towards it. He was about to light it when he felt a hand removing the cigarette.It was Bruce

“The last time I checked, it is prohibited to smoke in the power room.” He snapped in a harsh voice. Wizard scoffed, not paying attention to him. Instead, he dipped his hand into his already ruffled hair, breathing out softly as he sent silent curses towards Bruce, though the latter didn’t hear.

“Gosh he looks so cute doing that” Autumn bit her lips staring dreamily at Wizard, before hearing Mica’s scoff

“Don’t tell me you are still crushing on that guy” She said it out loud, but Autumn was quick to shush her, covering her mouth with her palm

“Did I really say that out loud, I mean…”

“Yea..you did..so tell me…are you still crushing on him” Mica whispered this time. Autumn rolled her eyes. She was about replying when the boss entered; everyone stood up.

Kyla sent them a croaky stare, checking everyone of them out, before finally stepping in. According to her quick calculation, they are supposed to be eight in number, but she is seeing just seven of them. And just when it clicked in her brain that one of them isn’t present, Jade walked in, sweating profusely

“You are late, Jade” Kyla muttered in a cold, but less harsh voice, without turning to look at her. She had felt her entrance even though Jade’s steps were as silent as that of a rat.

“The message came late to me…I hurried down here immediately I saw it” Jade resorted in a defending manner

“That’s not a better excuse” Kyla cuts in, but she shrugs it off, facing the others, while Jade joins them.

“As we all know, our next target now is ‘The Mask’ who has been in hiding ever since I joined this clan. But the fact is that he won’t remain hiding for too long.

Mica managed to get a fake location of where he made us think he resides; but that kind of prank doesn’t work on me any longer.” She stated, as Mica was forced to frown, wondering where she had missed it

She casted a squinting look at Bruce, trying to give him that look of ‘what the hell is she talking about’. But he kept a straight face, not paying attention to her.

“Surprised, Mica?”

“Erm…boss….”

“Yes you have been played” Kyla cuts in

“So I have devised a new plan. We are all gonna be heading to the countryside, the northern part precisely. According to my research, ‘The Mask’ has a family there. His mother-in-law, alongside his wife, resides in a well built mansion, in the inner part of the town, fully guarded.

But his guards are not compared to us, we will make sure we take them down, and get on with what we are there for. Is that clear by me” She asked in a commanding tone, as they all chorus a ‘yes boss’ in unison

“That’s the spirit. So here is the plan…Jayden” She called, throwing him a flash drive which he caught in the air. She gave a curt nod, which he fully understood. He drew the swivel backward, slumping into the chair, as he pulled the system placed on the table, closer to him. He plunged in the drive into its port hole, waiting for it to read. Afterward, he clicked on the file displayed before projecting in on the large screen pasted before them in the room. They all faced the projecting screen, which displayed a map; the map of the mansion precisely.
