C18 A Web of Secrets and Shadows

Third POV:

Laura clutched at Alex's arm, the tension in her body a trifle overwhelming. The racing of her heart was not wholly an effect of the annoyance of every shared breath with him but from the ominous rustle of the leaves.

"Who's there?" Alex's voice cut through the woods, harsh and commanding. "Come out, or you'll regret it."

Suddenly, Sonia stepped out from behind a tree
