C119

After the demonic path and the various sects and families of the Central Plains formed a pincer attack on the Western barbarians, the Western barbarians had instead decided to defend the Central Plains with their lives.

Unknowingly, the Western barbarians had already stayed in the Central Lands for an entire season. It was currently June, and the scorching summer's summer heat made the war-torn Central Lands seem especially desolate.

A small section of forest was located near the village entrance of a village.

The village was in ruins. There was a well at the entrance of the village. The well was covered with moss and weeds, and the road in the village was overgrown with weeds.

A few crows stood at the mouth of the well, watching the water.

In the village house, doors and windows hung, and cobwebs hung from doorframes and eaves.

The village was called the Holy Well Village, and it was rumored that the villagers had lived a long life drinking the water from the wells at the entrance of the village. As a result, people called the wells the Holy Well, and the name of the village followed suit.

Before the invasion of the Western barbarians, the sacred well village was home to four generations of families. It was very lively, but now, not a single person could be seen, leaving behind a sacred well for the crows and other animals to enjoy.

The previously quiet Sanjing Village suddenly welcomed a few young men and women. These young men and women were dressed in the attire of the Ocean Viewing Sect. These were the few remaining disciples of the sect.

Little Ye, Yaowu, and Shi Qi were not missing a single one. They arrived at the entrance of the village, where they stood and looked around, as if they were looking for something.

"Junior brother Xu, is there really a teacher here?" Yaowu looked at a tall and thin boy among the disciples of the Ocean Viewing Sect and asked.

"Reporting to Martial Brother Yaowu, Martial Uncle Ye said that it was inconvenient for him to come and find us, so he told us to come and find him. Martial Uncle Ye really did say that." No one knew that his hands were already covered in sweat.

"But where is I, Uncle Ye?" Lil 'Ye frowned and asked Junior Brother Xu.

"This …" Junior brother Xu stammered for a long time without being able to say anything.

"This is Martial Uncle Ye's personal letter. Didn't you, Lil 'Ye, recognize that it was written by him?" Shi Qi looked at Lil 'Ye and asked.

"Uncle-master wrote it himself without a doubt." Ye Zichen thought back to what he said and nodded. Martial Uncle Ye was her uncle by blood, and he took good care of her, so it was impossible for Ye Zichen to recognize him wrongly.

"Then we'll wait." After saying that, Shi Qi went to the well and sat down. The rest of the people also wanted to see their teachers. After all, no one had actually seen his life and death, so they didn't refute him.

"Seniors and juniors, I have a bad feeling about this. How about we go? If our teachers really come to find us, why not go to the encampment of a clan or family?" A female disciple nervously stared at the deserted village road.

"Martial Uncle said it's not convenient for him." Junior brother Xu frowned as he looked towards the female disciple.

"But …" The female disciple wanted to say something, but said: "Wait a moment."

"I also think we should leave this place." Lil 'Ye bit her lips and frowned.

"Why?" Shi Qi frowned at Lil 'Ye.

"I'm the same as junior." Lil 'Ye tugged at her sleeve, then continued, "What's more, Da Shixiong said to tell us not to run around."

"Eldest Brother killed the enemy on the frontline, so we avoided the Western barbarians. If we could find him, we would be very happy." Junior brother Xu began to explain.

"Junior brother Xu is right." Yaowu nodded.

Shi Qi walked up and patted the shoulders of the female disciple and Little Ye. "Don't think too much into it. There aren't any Western barbarians here."

The two young ladies could only nod. The crowd suddenly became silent. After an unknown amount of time had passed, the crows at the village entrance suddenly began to caw. Junior brother Xu stood up and said, "I'll go relieve myself."

"Go on, don't go too far. Be careful." Yaowu looked at Junior Brother Xu and said.

"Alright!" With that, Junior Brother Xu walked into the desolate village.

Not long after Junior Brother Xu had left, Crow was still crowing when he suddenly heard some rustling sounds from all around him. Yao Wu and Shi Qi jumped up at the same time and quickly drew their swords.

Suddenly, a man in black jumped out from the forest, and before long, several other men in black jumped out from the village as well. From the movements of these men in black, it could be seen that their martial arts were not some low-level, perhaps even third-rate martial arts.

"Who is it?" Yaowu questioned while staring at these men in black.

"People who have come to take your lives." The voice of one of the men in black sounded hoarse, but it was obvious that it was an act.

"Why?" Lil 'Ye frowned and asked.

"Hehe, the only one to blame is your senior for offending someone you shouldn't have offended." The black-clothed man said in a somewhat complacent voice.

Shi Qi took two steps forward, stood in front of Yaowu and Lil 'Ye and said softly, "Senior Brother Yao, take Lil' Ye and the female disciple away, I'll hold them back."

"Let the female disciples go, we'll delay them together." Yaowu replied.

"Heh, don't tell me that any of you feel that any of you can leave?" Suddenly, another black-clothed person spoke out. This black-clothed person was even more domineering.

Lil 'Ye and the female disciple looked at each other, turned around and ran. Two of the black-clothed men wanted to catch up, but two disciples from the Ocean Viewing Sect immediately went up to stop the two black-clothed men.

The man in black stared at the fleeing Lil 'Ye and the female disciple, and upon seeing this, Yao Wu immediately swung his sword towards the man in black.

"Hmph, overestimating yourself!" The man in black sneered. He didn't even use his weapon. With just one hand, he managed to knock back Yao Wu who was swinging his sword.

Shi Qi originally wanted to deal with the rest of the black-clothed men, but when he saw that Yao Wu was sent flying, the black-clothed man wanted to chase after the female disciple and Little Ye, so he immediately pounced towards the black-clothed man.

Unexpectedly, he was intercepted by the rest of the black-clothed men.

This group of men in black all had high martial arts capabilities and their attacks were all second-rate. The palm strike that they had used was the Soul Shattering Palm of the Great Jin Sect. The palm strike was close to mastery.

Lying on the ground, he felt as if he was being pulled by the earth, growing on it. However, it was different from when he was on the ground; his nutrients seemed to be taken away by the earth, causing his heart to beat weaker and weaker.

Yao Wu could clearly feel his life draining away. He couldn't stay, nor could he scream. He could only watch helplessly as his vision gradually turned pitch black. Before pitch-black, he saw his fellow sect members fall one after the other in pools of blood.

"Senior Brother Yaowu!" When Shi Qi saw that Yao Wu had been hit, he didn't get up and shouted at him. However, he, who had lost his arm, was also suppressed. He couldn't escape from watching Yao Wu's life and death.

"You still have the leisure to care about others?" A man in black sneered, and then swung his sword at Shi Qi's shoulder.

Shi Qi hurriedly retreated and stepped on a corpse. He looked down and saw a familiar face that had already died.

Schmidt looked up, a sword coming at him, but there was no time to dodge it and pierce his chest.

After being stabbed, Shi Qi walked in and killed the man in black with a single slash. Then, he was stabbed in the chest with another sword. Before he died, the last scene he saw was the man in black carrying his junior sister in front of him.
