C1 Preface

"You're here?" At the edge of the lake, the old man quietly went fishing. He never turned his head back, but he knew who it was. It was as if he had eyes on the back of his head.

"Three years." He was about sixteen years old, and when he walked here, he raised his head, looking at the old man's back: "Three years ago, I was thirteen, and I had no memory at all. You brought me back to Red Star Academy and told me to work hard at cultivating, and at the age of fifteen, I was formed from a Qi Sea.

The old man opened his eyes slightly. "Did you succeed?"

The youth shook his head, his eyes dim. "I failed. Every time I tried to break through the technique, a mysterious power would appear on the black mark on my left arm. It would either stop me or make me lose consciousness."

The old man paused, then asked, "And then?"

"I saw a nightmare, a black fire, corpses floating all over the place, blood flowing like rivers." The youth opened his eyes as he spoke in a heavy tone. Subconsciously, he clenched his hands and asked, "Is that my hometown?"

The old man didn't say anything. He silently raised his head, but his muddy eyes had a change.

The youth's breathing quickened as he stared at the old man's back. With a heavy voice, he asked, "Is it Mount Daliang?"

Three years ago, Mount Daliang, which was known as the home of Devil God, had experienced a large black flame which had burned for an entire three months.

At that time, this matter had nearly shocked the entire Gods and Devils Continent.

However, for some reason, the incident began to fade two years ago. It was as if a pair of hands had imperceptibly held down all of this.

The youngster was depressed and silently turned around. "I understand."

Three years ago, he had already come to a conjecture from the Mount Daliang three years ago and he was only here today to seek confirmation.

The Red Star Academy was very big, enough to accommodate tens of thousands of people, and there were less than a thousand students in the academy.

In this academy, where only a small number of people lived in, almost every teacher had a small courtyard.

Although Li Yi wasn't a teacher, he was a rarity. There were clear rules in the academy stating that a charm magician could own a small courtyard.

Li Yi's courtyard was located on the furthest left side of the academy. Here, with the broken mountain at his back, there was a river behind the broken mountain.

When Li Yi returned, he saw a group of people gathered there. They were not very old, about seven or eight of them.

"Li Yi is back." It was unknown who shouted, but everyone turned around.

"You are Li Yi?" A young man with beautiful clothes, with an ordinary appearance and a sword on his back, walked in front of Li Yi and asked indifferently.

"You are?" Li Yi frowned, he did not know this person, but he could sense that he was hostile towards him.

"My name is Lin Wufeng. Lin Xiaofeng of the Second Department is my elder brother. I've come here today to find you for a matter." His tone was calm, his gaze swept across Li Yi, looking at his ordinary clothes, and his faded boots, he felt disdain in his heart, thinking, maybe this is a commoner mentioned by his brother?

Li Yi paused, "What is it?"

Lin Wu Feng took out five thick bags, casually threw them at Li Yi's feet and said: "My brother just opened his mind, and needs a peaceful place to stabilize his cultivation, your place is not too bad, these five hundred crystals are the money I bought."

Five hundred crystals.

This was a huge amount of wealth!

An ordinary person might not even have one for most of their life. Honestly speaking, Li Yi was very tempted, but he did not say anything.

He came to the Red Star Academy at the age of thirteen, and became a half-dead Talisman Master at the age of fourteen. In the end, the academy planned this courtyard for him.

Over the years, countless people had coveted this courtyard, but up until now, no one had been able to snatch it away.

It was not to say how strong Li Yi was, but the person "Principal" standing behind him.

"The courtyard is mine, I'm not selling it." Li Yi muttered to himself for a long time, raised his head and spat out these words, which signified his determination.

"Oh?" Lin Wu Feng was startled, he narrowed his eyes, as though he did not expect Li Yi to actually reject him, could it be that he was not clear about his own situation?

Inside the Red Star Academy, there was a rule: Anyone who entered the school for three years and didn't have a cultivation realm of seven chakras would be forced to withdraw from the school, and not be allowed to cultivate within the Red Star Academy.

And if you counted the time that Li Yi had spent in the academy, it seemed to be three years, right? It was precisely because of this that his elder brother had allowed him to come here so that the courtyard wouldn't be taken away by others.

In other words, Lin Wu Feng was giving money to Li Yi! After all, if he was ordered to leave school, this courtyard would no longer belong to him.

But why did he refuse?

"When you came to the Red Star Academy at the age of thirteen, you had never opened your eyes even at the age of sixteen, so you were transferred to a Talisman Dao in the end. Lin Wu Feng said, he thought that Li Yi did not know, so he gave him a reminder.

"I know." Li Yi looked at him with a stubborn expression: "But there's still a few months until three years of time. So, this courtyard is still mine."

Lin Wufeng did not say anything, but his expression turned cold.

If Li Yi agreed to transfer the rights of ownership to them now, when Li Yi was ordered to quit school, they could still use their own names and spend some money to extend the rights of ownership in this courtyard.

But if Li Yi disagreed, once he was ordered to withdraw, the right to own the courtyard would return to the academy, and at that time, it would be very difficult for them to obtain this courtyard.

Li Yi remained calm: "Is there anything else?"

Lin Wu Feng smirked, his tone cold as he said: "You are no longer capable of enlightenment, you are no longer capable of becoming a cultivator, and you are being ordered to withdraw from school. Why don't you take these 500 crystals and lead a good life?"

Li Yi looked at him, and subconsciously clenched his hands tightly: "I still have time, why should I give up?"

"Five months? Three months? " Lin Wu Feng smiled coldly, with ridicule and disdain: "You want to breakthrough to seven innately in a few short months? You think you're a genius? "

Breaking through to the seventh chakra in three to five months was a myth that only a few people in the history of Red Star Academy could achieve.

Lin Wu Feng did not think that Li Yi could do that. He just thought that Li Yi was too stupid, if it was him, he would definitely take the five hundred crystals and silently leave the Academy.

It would not only be embarrassing to wait for the day when he was ordered to withdraw from school.

"How about this! Leave five hundred crystals here for now. I will give you one day to think it over. " Lin Wu Feng coldly swept his gaze across him, his eyes full of ridicule, as though he was ridiculing Li Yi for overestimating his strength and foolishness.

"Think about it carefully."

"Senior-apprentice Brother Lin is doing this for your own good."

"500 crystals is a huge amount of money!" Enough for you to live a long time. "

"Hehe!" The few of them said as they walked past Li Yi one by one, stepping on the five bags that were filled with crystals without restraint.

Li Yi remained indifferent, swept through the five bags of crystals on the ground and turned to leave.

If he really picked it up, it would be a matter of dignity. Someone once told him that a man's dignity was priceless.

"Senior apprentice-brother." The voice of a woman came from behind him. It was clear and pleasant, but it carried an indescribable helplessness: "You have already broken through from the First Stage to become a true Talisman Master. According to the academy's rules, the Talisman Dao branch only needs to step into the First Stage.

Li Yi paused in his steps, turned his face to the side, and looked at the delicate and pretty girl.

"Actually, the Talisman Dao branch is also very powerful. It's just that they're a bit expensive." Wen Yuqing sighed softly, her eyes rippled with a faint sense of worry.

The meaning behind his words was very clear. Even though Li Yi was unable to enlighten himself, relying on his status as a Talisman Master of the first step, he could still stay in the academy to cultivate.

What she was worried about was that Li Yi would not register, so no one would know about his identity as a Talisman Master of the first step.

Wen Yuqing didn't understand why. One must know that the identity as a Talisman Master of the first step was not only capable of allowing him to stay in the academy to cultivate.

Li Yi laughed: "Have you eaten?"

Wen Yuqing obediently nodded her head: "I'll eat it."
