C18 New Boyfriend
Jiang Nuan felt a chill run down her spine as she slowly pulled back her hand, only to have it caught by a strong grip.
"Don't move around so early in the morning," came the warm breath of Jee Cheng'an by her ear.
She could feel the heat radiating from him behind her, and the more alarming realization hit her—they were both completely unclothed.
Sensing her tension, Jee Cheng'an wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer, and rested his face against her neck, chuckling softly.
It dawned on Jiang Nuan that she was nestled in his embrace, their proximity intensely intimate. Her mind went blank, overwhelmed by the situation.
She wasn't sure how long they stayed like that, but she drifted back to sleep. When she woke again, she instinctively wrapped herself in the blanket and jumped up, only to find the space beside her empty.
Was it all just a dream?
She sat there, bewildered.
"Looking for me?" Jee Cheng'an's voice came from behind her, breaking her daze.
Turning around, she saw him in casual home clothes, just like the previous morning, holding a tray. If she guessed right, it was probably hangover soup.
"A girl drinking that much—you've got some nerve," he remarked, placing the tray on the bedside table with grace. He picked up the bowl of hangover soup and handed it to her coolly. "Drink it, or you'll have a headache."
“...” Nuan took the bowl numbly, drank it down, and then handed the empty bowl back.
“Last night...” Jee Cheng'an's lips curled into a mischievous smile, as if he was about to say something.
As soon as she heard those words, Nuan immediately pulled the blanket over her head, wrapping herself tightly. “Don’t say it, don’t say it, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
She couldn't believe she made the same mistake twice! Twice!!!
“...” Seeing her like this, Jee Cheng'an inexplicably felt quite happy. “I was going to say, last night your phone kept ringing and eventually shut off. I charged it for you, so remember to check your missed calls.” With that, he picked up the empty bowl and tray and left the room.
Hearing the door close, Nuan finally emerged from under the blanket. Once she was sure the room was empty, she reached for her phone on the nightstand, glanced at it, and breathed a sigh of relief.
It wasn’t her dad; it was Big White, along with a few unfamiliar numbers.
After thinking for a moment, she called Big White back.
“Nuan, don’t be upset, damn it, that jerk Lee Xiao!” Big White’s indignant voice came through as soon as the call connected.
“Huh? What did Lee Xiao do this time? I’m not upset,” Nuan replied, utterly confused.
“What were you doing last night? I couldn’t reach you all night, and I thought something happened to you,” Big White asked with concern, while Nuan felt her cheeks heat up. Last night... last night... should she tell Big White that she spent the night with the heir of Shenghua International again?
"I went to bed early last night, and my phone was on silent..." Jiang Nuan thought her lying skills had become quite impressive after these past few incidents.
"You've got some nerve!" exclaimed Dabai incredulously. "But I have to admit, Lee Xiao really knows how to stir things up."
"What happened?" Jiang Nuan asked, puzzled, as she got out of bed. Today, Jee Cheng'an had thoughtfully placed her clothes from yesterday in the bedroom. Jiang Nuan decided to put the call on speaker while she changed.
"Haven't you checked social media? It's blowing up! She said you've got a new boyfriend who drives a Maserati!" Dabai's loud voice came through the phone. Hearing this, Jiang Nuan stumbled and nearly fell.
When Jee Cheng'an walked in, he saw Jiang Nuan standing by the bed, phone in hand, looking completely bewildered, while Dabai's voice continued over the call.
"A new boyfriend with a Maserati, huh? Why didn't Lee Xiao just say you had a one-night stand last night?"
