C5 FIVE

The rest of the day passed briefly and Semiloore was quiet. The bell for break before lesson is rung and Semiloore stood up.

"I'm so hungry" Semiloore muttered to herself.

Tamiloore walked in almost immediately, "Let's go grab something".

Semiloore nodded as she followed her out. They arrived at the cafeteria after several turnings on the walkway.

"The architect is sure talented" Semiloore said as they walked inside the cafeteria attracting attention.

"I'll have gala and orange juice" Tamiloore said.

"Just give me anything that won't makes me faint in the next six hours" Semiloore said and all the food attendants glanced at her.

The attendant put two meatpies and a bottle of water on the tray and gave it to Semiloore.

"Kansamida" Semiloore said with a smile.

( this isn't even my language, it's actually Korean but it means thank you).

The attendant glanced at her as he furrowed his eyebrows.

Tamiloore laughed a little, "My apologies, she meant thank you" Tamiloore said.

Semiloore smiled brightly and nodded in confirmation as they try to look for a table. Semiloore rolled her eyes as she noticed Rolake and her minions glaring at her.

As they approached, one of them stuck out her leg and Semiloore wore an smug smile as she pretended like she didn't see it. Instead as she walked closer, she kicked the leg hard and the girl yelled out in pain.

"Ohh, what happened?" Semiloore asked with a funny smile.

"Just shut up!" Rolake yelled "Didn't you kick her?" Rolake said angrily.

"Why would I do that? I was walking and the next thing is your friend is yelling in pain" Semiloore replied with an innocent face.

"You kicked me, stop lying" the girl growled.

"Why was your leg sprawled out on the road anyways? Even a blind person knows this is road and sprawling your leg carelessly like that, you should expect that your leg should get broken" Semiloore said her smile disappearing.

"You!" Rolake yelled with indignation.

"I kicked her so what? Miss whatsoever is your name, these petty tricks are really hilarious, if you don't like me just stay away from me or I must tell you you'll get disappointed every time unless you improve with your tricks, making me fall ? Those tricks, no one uses them anymore" Semiloore said aloud with a smirk.

The cafeteria roared with laughter.

"I hate you!" Rolake wheezed before storming out.

"You be careful around her" Tamiloore said.

"I'm not scared of her and her petty tricks" Semiloore replied.

"Semiloore, its our first day, okay?" Tamiloore said.

"Right, you are no fun" Semiloore said with a pout.

Joshua munched on his donut as he turned to John and Nathaniel "I must say, she's quite sharp" Joshua said.

They had all seen what had happened and that Semiloore had intentionally kicked Joy's leg.

Nathaniel didn't reply as he sipped his drink.

"They are so different" John commented as he peepped at the two "Tamiloore is so calm and reserved and while Semiloore is, God... I don't even know how to describe her attitude" John added.

The teacher glanced round at the students and his eyes shrunk sightly at the sight of a sleeping Semiloore.

"Wake her up" the teacher instructed.

Peter stretched his hand to smack Semiloore but froze in the air when he heard her voice.

"Don't even think of touching me" Semiloore's drowsy voice came through the silent class stunning everyone.

Semiloore slowly raised her head.

"You shouldn't sleep during afternoon prep" the teacher scolded.

"It was supposed to be a lesson but it suddenly changed to prep" Semiloore said with a frown.

"So?" The teacher asked.

Semiloore shrugged.

"You can't sleep during prep" the teacher said again.

"Why?" Semiloore asked.

"Because you have to read why is it prep then if you sleep?" The teacher aaked clearly irritated.

"I can't read" Semiloore replied.

"Excuse me?" The teacher asked.

"I can't read! My brain shuts down in the afternoon, so I can't do anything than sleep" Semiloore replied honestly.

The entire class burst into laughter.

"Miss Ajayi, am not joking" the teacher said with seriousness.

Semiloore thinned her eyes "I'm not joking too sir" Semiloore replied.

"Mr Alabi, you should leave her alone, she's dumb" Rolake said eyeing Semiloore.

"Ohh, as a new student you should read hard, you are in a very competitive class and Oxford is no normal private school, we do repeat students" Mr Alabi said with pride.

"That's nice" Semiloore replied.

"You can come to me if you need extra classes or teachings, you can also talk to Rolake, Nathaniel, Joshua and co, they are very good tutors" Mr Alabi added.

"What does that have to do with me?" Semiloore asked nonchalantly.

Mr Alabi jaw clenched at the nonchalant reply "I'm just trying to help you" Mr Alabi replied.

"Well I do not need it sir, thank you" Semiloore replied.

"I understand that children who are not smart don't like been made fun of and they tend to reject any help offered towards them but its okay. I will help alright? " Mr Alabi said.

"Sir you teach what?" Semiloore asked.

"Physics" Mr Alabi said.

"Whoa! That's really nice. I feel for your students" Semiloore said as the class erupted in laughter.

"You... " Mr Alabi started.

"Prep's over" Semiloore interrupted as the bell was heard.

Semiloore strutted towards the bus sluggishly.

"You didn't sleep?" Tamiloore asked with concern as Peter glanced at her in surprise.

"Sleep? She was supposed to read nah, is it not prep?" Peter countered.

"Semiloore's brain can't function from around 3-5" Tamiloore replied.

"Eh? Is that even normal?" Peter asked in surprise.

"Stop blabbering" Semiloore said she kicked him.

"Yeh! Semiloore, your kick is so hard, are you even a girl?" Peter cried as he stepped in after her.

Tamiloore pushed Semiloore's head to her shoulder, "Sleep for a while" Tamiloore said.

Nathaniel and his friends who were just entering the bus didn't miss her the act.

Joshua gave Tamiloore a small smile as soon as she raised her head.

The bus moved slowly through the light traffic as Tamiloore stared at the window.

"There's no traffic as well" Tamiloore said and Fisayo smiled.

"We have traffic once in a while but it was way more less than Lag traffic" Prisca said.

"Yeah, way more less" Tamiloore replied agreeing.

The bus soon pulled at a house painted in white. The walls were very tall and one couldn't really see the house but the trees and flowers couldn't be hidden. Tamiloore didn't even notice who got down since she was busy adjusting Semiloore's head on her shoulder.

"Bye Prisca" Prisca said and waved as the latter got down.

The bus soon stopped in front of their house and they got down.

Semiloore trotted into the kitchen and sat down.

"School? "Mrs Ajayi asked.

"It was unbelievably interesting" Semiloore replied.

"Made some good friends already?" Mrs Ajayi asked.

"Yeah, one" Semiloore replied.

"What's her name?" Mrs Ajayi asked.

"His name is Lousy" Semiloore replied as Tamiloore laughed "His name is Peter mom, don't mind her, I've made few friends too" Tamiloore said.

"That's nice" Mrs Ajayi said with a small smile.

"You've submitted your application?" Semiloore asked.

"Hmm,your uncle recommended an hospital for me but when I got there, I was told only the space of a children's doctor was available, so I left and checked with two others. I was given an appointment immediately in one" Mrs Ajayi replied.

"Whoa, that's good" Tamiloore said.

Mrs Ajayi smiled as she dropped their plates of food in front of them.

Semiloore bounced on her bed as she stared at her ceiling. She didn't exactly like quiet places but the found the serenity of this new place comfortable, she felt like she was actually home.

Semiloore stood up and sat on her reading table. She opened her bag and brought out few of her notes. She had borrowed a few from Peter to write. Sticking her ear piece in her ear, she began writing.

In the room next to hers, the other was also scribbling down notes except that her ears weren't ringing with Jennifer Lopez Ain't Your Mama.

Semiloore's didn't notice the door creak open until a ear of her earpiece was removed from her ear.

"Tamiloore, what...... " Semiloore's remaining words were hung in the air as she saw her mom with a weary smile.

"Mom?" Semiloore called out in surprise.

"Its half past 1,you have school tomorrow get some sleep" Mrs Ajayi said and Semiloore smiled before putting off her music and closing her notes.

She climbed into her bed and closed her eyes. Some minutes later, her breathing became shallow.
