C9 NINE

Nathaniel frowned as he walked through the hallways to the physics department. They had submitted their assignment notes and they had been returned.

Surprisingly he had missed number 4 of the assignment. He greeted a few teachers as he passed through the teachers offices. He knocked on Mr Abraham's door.

"Come in"

Nathaniel stepped in "Good afternoon sir" Nathaniel greeted.

"Go and ask Semiloore to explain to to everybody, I'm even surprised you got it wrong" Mr Abraham said.

Nathaniel frown widened as he swallowed his saliva and before walking out.

Nathaniel entered the class just in time to hear the news of what had transpired on SS3 block. Nathaniel gritted his teeth;couldn't she just stay put without causing trouble for a minute?

Semiloore soon walked in with Tamiloore:

"Your wide big mouth is gonna land you some beating one day" Rolake sneered.

"I thought we agreed on you looking for your match to bicker with?" Tamiloore replied as she turned towards Rolake.

"Or tell me; are you that jobless that you have nothing else to do than bicker?" Tamiloore asked with a stern face.

Rolake swallowed her saliva and sat down

"Can't you just stay put without looking for trouble? Even if its for a minute" Nathaniel muttered with a frown but Semiloore ignored him and turned to Tamiloore.

"I saw your government teacher walk in when we were coming, I'm fine" Semiloore said as Tamiloore nodded.

"Okay" Tamiloore said before giving Nathaniel an apologetic smile and left.

"Well Mr Abraham said to explain to the class number 4 physics assignment, everyone missed it except you" Nathaniel said with a sigh.

"Huh?" Semiloore asked.

"You heard me Semiloore" Nathaniel said.

"I'm serious, I didn't" Semiloore said defensively.

"Mr Abraham said explain to the whole class number 4" Nathaniel repeated.

"Why me?" Semiloore asked with a frown.

"Everyone else missed it" Naghniel replied.

"Eheh... " Semiloore replied her playful demeanour coming back.

"Make it snappy" Nathaniel said.

The class captain stretched the marker towards Semiloore who jumped to the front earning a bit of laughter from a few people.

"I'm not going to sit down and let you teach me!" Rolake yelled.

"What do you even know?" Yemi asked.

"She probably copied it from somewhere" Faith added.

"What's your problem bayi?" John asked.

"Can't just you use your sense for once?" John asked again.

"Its not like she has one" Semiloore chipped in.

"Better warn yourself" Faith said with a glint in her eyes.

"Since you guys aren't staying, why don't you leave and let me do what I need to do, my legs are aching me" Semiloore said with a yawn.

"Rolake just likes acting over bearing sometimes even Jerry and Nath is sitting down, what's her problem?" A girl said.

Rolake swallowex her saliva when she heard the girl talking. She sat down quietly and so does Faith and Yemi.

Semiloore explained to everyone and re-explained to them when a few say they don't understand.

"She definitely isn't dumb" John says as he wrote his correction.

"Did she ever look dumb to you?" Nathaniel asked as he flipped his textbook pages.

"Huh?" John asked.

"She's just lousy and a bit uncultured I wouldn't say un-disciplined but she's like an average student trying to make an headway here. She's probably heard X is the toughest in three science classes" Nathaniel replied.

"She doesn't seem like an average student to me" Joshua chipped in.

"Nathaniel!" A girl yelled from the door and walked into the class.

Some sighed and Maria hissed loudly.

"Hi Nath" she said with a big smile.

"How are you?" Nathaniel asked.

"I'm fine, let's have lunch together" she replied.

"We have projects to finish" Joshua retorted somewhat coldly.

"I'll be happy to help" she replied Joshua.

"We don't need spare hands ours is just enough" Joshua replied.

The girl frowned and managed to fake a smile. "Joshua, are you still mad at me? Its been almost two years already" she said her voice taking an higher pitch.

"Mad? No" Joshua denied.

"Then let me help" she said.

"I'm sure you have your projects" Joshua said.

"Done" she quickly replied.

"You are the spokesperson right?" Joshua asked.

"Of course, am the only one fit" she replied with a proud expression.

"You should pratice more" Joshua said.

"Stop it already Joshua. I'm sorry that I don't love you okay? I love Nathaniel and that he's your best friend, I'm sorry about that and seeing us together might hurt you but I've no choice" the girl suddenly blurted out.

"Tara, you should go back to your class" John said with a frown.

"You are with him? You know this isn't my fault right?" Tara asked.

"We'll talk about this some other time, you should leave first" John said.

"Why can't you just let it go!" Tara yelled.

"Hey there lover girl, this is a class not a pub where you can yell your lungs out but nobody hears you because the music is very loud and no one pays attention to you" Semiloore interrupted and the class erupted into laughter.

"Ohh, you are Semiloore, I've heard a lot about you and I'm sure the reason why you still have confidence to open your mouth is because you haven't met your match" Tara replied.

Semiloore laughed lightly "Then?" She asked.

"You've met one" Tara replied confidently.

Semiloore laughed wryly and suddenly stopped "No, you aren't my match" Semiloore said in a firm tone.

"You don't know me" Tara said.

"Of course I don't my brain doesnt keep record of people like you" Semiloore said with a shrug.

"Whatever dumb head" Tara said and Semiloore chuckled.

"Find some more curse words,dunder head" Semiloore shot back.

Tara's nose flared up as she walked towards a relaxed Semiloore.

"If I were you i'll be careful what I say" Tara said and Semiloore nodded.

"Solves the problem, you are not me" Semiloore replied.

"Is it nice having a bad reputation of being foul mouthed?" Tara asked with a sinister smile.

"I was asked the same question few hours ago but I guess I'll answer differently this time around, frankly am just looking for trouble. Joshua is a good friend of mine and I've never seen him in his state before, all he does is laugh at my jokes or the silly names I call him, he really does laugh a lot and smile and seeing him like this with just with your presence is enough to tell me that you are nothing near good. I have no intentions in butting or knowing whatever happened in between you guys but when he says leave, you should give him his personal space"Semiloore said.

"I didn't come to see him" Tara scoffed.

"Nathaniel, i know we don't roll that much but seeing your friend's face all scrunched, you good?" Semiloore asked eyeing Nathaniel.

"Tara, you should leave now" Jerry said not glancing at her.

"Excuse me, I've not dealt with this idiot and the nonsense she's spewing" Tara replied.

"Like she said you are not her match" Jerry said and the whole class is left stunned.

"Chasing me out like this, do you know you are declaring war on O1?" Tara asked.

"So if we are declaring war? Just because none of us is in kungfu classes doesn't mean we can't fight" Maria hissed out.

"Hey short rat, you can still open that mouth of yours huh?" Tara bellowed.

"She's short yet everything in your foamy brain isn't nothing compared to hers"Semiloore replied.

"You!"Tara yelled.

"I thought I told you this place isn't a pub" Semiloore said with a yawn.

"You don't know who you are messing with" Tara said angrily.

"I know you've gat no brains" Semiloore replied as everyone burst into laughter.

"I'll deal with you" Tara says before walking out of the class.

"Satisfied? You just messed with the deadliest class on block" Rolake said with quaver in her voice.

"Anyone who messes with my friends should expect something like this" Semiloore said as Joshua walked up to her.

"Let's take a walk" Joshua said.

Semiloore is dumbfounded by the time Joshua is done. Sometimes she couldn't really understand girls sometimes. Joshua had asked Tara out and the latter didn't reject or accept him. They became friends until one day, Tara says she doesn't have any feelings for him and her feelings are for Nathaniel.

So she practically used him to get to Nathaniel. Nobody could just become Nathaniel's friend;he selected his friends and didn't talk to a lot of people, there were people that had been in Nathaniel's class since JSS1 and he hadn't spoken his then till now.

"Still hurts?" Semiloore asked quietly.

"A lot" Joshua replied.

"You should let go" Semiloore said with pursed lips.

"You think so? You also think she and Nathaniel is a good match?" Joshua asked.

"No, you are too good for her" Semiloore replied.

Joshua turns to the girl sitting beside him. Her eyes screamed nothing but honesty and his lips curved into a smile.

"Thank you"Joshua said gratefully.

Semiloore smiled "Always welcome prick" Semiloore said as Joshua bursts into laughter lifting up his face instantly.
