Upon opening the door, he was greeted by a vast courtyard.

A man at the entrance bowed and approached.

"Young Master, did you have a good rest?"

Bai Piao maintained a composed expression, yet his mind raced with deductions.

This man appeared to be a houseboy.

"Yes," Bai Piao responded with a nonchalant nod.

The houseboy's words subtly confirmed that Bai Piao was indeed born into wealth.

"What was I supposed to do? How could I forget after just a nap?"

Bai Piao tapped his forehead, feigning forgetfulness.

"Young Master, you encountered the Third Young Master of the Zhang family at breakfast, and afterward, you said you needed to rest briefly," the servant replied, his voice tinged with confusion but still respectful.

What's wrong with the young master? He was upset earlier, and now he's forgotten?

"It's coming back to me now!" Bai Piao exclaimed, as if struck by sudden recollection.

"From now on, you'll be by my side, regardless of your former name. Starting today, I'll name you. You shall be called Doggie!"

"Yes, Young Master!" Doggie's expression lit up with excitement.

Bai Piao turned to the bewildered faces of the onlookers, sensing that something was off.

Suddenly, the mechanical voice of the system echoed in his mind.

Before Bai Piao could make sense of it, Doggie's voice, laced with panic, reached his ears. Doggie tugged at Bai Piao's sleeve, his voice quivering, "Young Master, that's the Master!"

What? This man was his father?

It had to be a joke.

He looked only a few years older than Bai Piao. How could he possibly be his father?

"Scoundrel, meet me in the study tonight!"

Bai Sheng was shaking with fury. With those harsh words, he stormed off, his sleeve snapping in the air.

His son had the audacity to address him as a brother?

Tonight, he would sternly discipline this unworthy son!

Once the crowd had dispersed, Bai Piao turned to Doggie, whose forehead was now beaded with sweat.

"He's really my dad?"

Doggie dabbed at the sweat on his brow.
