C3 Fancy Dinner

"I had pegged this anchor as a nobody, but who knew he'd turn out to be such a powerhouse!"

"He's loaded! I want to be your girlfriend!"

"Hey handsome, are you in the market for a male companion?"

"You're truly exceptional."

Soong Yang's inadvertent display of wealth during the live stream clued in his audience to his affluence. With such a strong background, it was no wonder he wasn't intimidated by thugs.

Following that incident, Soong Yang's live stream popularity skyrocketed, quickly amassing over fifty thousand new fans.

Soong Yang then tucked his phone away, preferring not to draw too much attention to himself.

He was about to give that punk another piece of his mind, but when he looked back, the punk had vanished.

At that moment, the young girl approached Soong Yang to express her heartfelt thanks. Her cheeks flushed, the image of Soong Yang's heroism etched in her memory.

The girl was a vision of innocence at eighteen, her pure features complemented by her school uniform. Her white calves were reminiscent of lotus stems, and her long hair was neatly plaited into two braids resting on her shoulders.

She initiated a chat, and Soong Yang responded with courteous conversation. Once he learned her name was Xia Yumeng, he made his exit.

"Can you believe it? That girl was so forward, and he didn't even offer to buy her dinner?"

"Girl, I'm smitten with you!"

"He should have sparked something with that girl."

"With his wealth, he's probably over the whole schoolgirl charm."

Soong Yang wasn't uninterested; it was just that his mother had been texting him repeatedly to get to the restaurant quickly.

He had lingered too long and now had no choice but to hail a cab.

Previously, Soong Yang's modest savings meant he would have walked, but with two billion in his account, the cab fare was inconsequential. Besides, if he didn't take a taxi, he'd surely be late.

Watching Soong Yang depart in a taxi, Xia Yumeng couldn't help but feel a twinge of pity that a taxi was his only option. She decided then and there to have her father gift him a BMW the next day!

She realized she'd forgotten to get his phone number, but at least she knew his name—Soong Yang.

Xia Yumeng was resolute in her thoughts.

At that moment, several men in suits hurried over from a freshly parked Rolls-Royce at the curb. The leader, a middle-aged man drenched in sweat, exclaimed, "Miss, why are you out here all by yourself? What would you do if you ran into trouble?"

Xia Yumeng nodded and replied, "I'm alright, Uncle Wang. Let's head out. Actually, you can help me look into someone right now."

Meanwhile, the live stream showed Soong Yang hopping into a cab and pulling up to a nondescript diner.

"What's he up to? Is he going to grab a bite?"

"He was supposed to have lunch with that pretty girl earlier!"

The audience in the live stream was utterly baffled.

Soong Yang entered the restaurant lobby and had barely taken a few steps when his mother's call came through. "Yang, where are you?"

After he informed her that he was in the lobby, she instructed, "Good, hurry up to private room 203 on the second floor."

"Why is Soong Yang dragging his feet? Do you realize how crucial today's meal is? My daughter has been waiting for him for five minutes already, and he's still not here. All the other kids have been seated for ages. Cousin, I think you should take a page out of Manager Zhao's book!"

Before his mother could finish her sentence, a haughty voice chimed in, chastising him for his five-minute delay.

At first, Soong Yang wasn't bothered, but hearing his mother get reprimanded stirred up his anger.

He ended the call and made his way upstairs.
