C12 Jealousy 3

"You're Mr. Qin's assistant, right?"

Assistant Liang, expressionless, glanced at the woman with ulterior motives and responded quietly.

Yu Qianqian's smile grew even brighter as she immediately sat next to him. "Are you here to pick up my sister? She's probably not awake yet, so you might have to wait a bit. By the way, I wonder if I could tag along with my sister. We're really close, you know."

Standing on the second-floor hallway, Yu Nuange watched the woman below, who was trying so hard to make an impression, with a sarcastic smile on her lips.

Assistant Liang had already sensed her presence. Seeing her in a white dress, her long hair elegantly pinned up, exuding a graceful and slightly vintage charm, he nodded in greeting.

"Mr. Assistant, I heard my sister's going to pick out a dress. She really loves my taste..."

"Assistant Liang."

Yu Nuange felt her worldview being challenged by Yu Qianqian. The woman's ability to lie with a straight face was truly impressive.

"Sister, you're here! Assistant Liang agreed to let me go with you to pick out a dress. I know your favorite styles."

"Sorry, the young master asked me to take Miss Nuange to the villa. A private designer is coming over."

Assistant Liang said bluntly, without giving Yu Qianqian any chance to react. Instead, he turned to Yu Nuange with a calm demeanor. "Miss Yu, please."

Yu Qianqian's eyes reddened with a look of grievance, as if Nuange had done something unforgivable.

“What’s wrong?” Xia Lan asked, quickly walking over.

“I just wanted to help my sister.”

“Nuange, Qianqian means well. After all, it’s a wedding, and we should help out. Let Qianqian join you,” Xia Lan said nonchalantly, as if the matter was settled.

“Sorry, Mr. Qin didn’t invite Miss Yu. I hope you understand,” Nuange replied apologetically. “Qianqian, I can’t make the decision. How about I show you the dresses I picked out when I get back?”

“Nuange.”

“Stepmom, I have to hurry. If Baihe gets upset, it won’t be good.”

With that, she quickly followed Assistant Liang and left.

Watching her leave, Yu Qianqian’s pretty features twisted with jealousy and resentment, a bitter look in her eyes. “Mom, look at her acting all high and mighty just because she’s cozying up to Qin Baihe!”

“Enough, don’t let your father hear you.”

“But I’m just not happy.”

“I know,” Xia Lan comforted her daughter, while calculating her own plans.

Once Nuange got in the car, she relaxed completely. The shy, troubled look vanished, replaced by indifference. She gazed out the window at the scenery rushing by, her thoughts elsewhere.

Assistant Liang glanced in the rearview mirror, noticing a sudden change in the person's demeanor. He was quietly surprised and a bit puzzled. However, having worked alongside Mr. Qin for so many years, he knew better than to ask questions that weren't his to ask. The young master always had his reasons.

So, he redirected his focus and safely drove the person to the young master's villa.

"Young master, the guest has arrived."

"Alright."

The man's voice was as pleasant as ever. The black casual T-shirt he wore softened his intimidating aura, making him seem more approachable.

"Come, have a seat."

"Okay."

Without hesitation, the guest walked over and sat directly across from him. This action left Assistant Liang even more astonished.
