C11 He Married Her
He married her.
Liang Jia froze when she heard the name.
Before she could react, she heard Zhou Xingchen's angry voice, "What? Young Master Ning doesn't want his other leg anymore?"
In a flash, Liang Jia thought of many things.
Xia Qiner's name was naturally known to her. Back then, Zhou Xingchen broke one of the legs of the eldest son of the Ning family for that woman. It caused a huge commotion and caused all the media in K City to rush to report.
No wonder she found this man familiar. Now that she thought about it, the newspaper had previously published a picture of Ning Lihan in the hospital.
Although he was not as pale and weak as before, his overall outline did not change much.
Ning Lihan heard Zhou Xingchen mention his broken leg. The hatred in his eyes could not be concealed. But after all, the power of the Ning Family was not as strong as the Zhou family. Now that they were in the banquet hall, there was nothing he could do. He could only glare at Zhou Xingchen fiercely.
Before he left, he even pointed at his temple to her, "Think about it carefully. Do you want to follow him?"
Zhou Xingchen's Qi became stronger. Ning Lihan had no choice but to speed up and get away from them.
Liang Jia helplessly watched Ning Lihan's figure disappear at the end of the corridor. She gently held his hand. "Have you settled your business? Let's go."
Zhou Xingchen looked at her carefully and did not follow her footsteps.
Liang Jia pulled him two steps but could not move him. She looked up in confusion, "What's wrong?"
Zhou Xingchen's gaze went straight into her eyes as if he wanted to dig out some emotion. "You don't mind at all?"
Liang Jia's face was full of smiles. She did not seem unhappy at all, "Didn't that pass long ago? If I still insist and don't let go, I will make things difficult for you. What's the meaning of that?"
What she did not say was that even if she did not go over, she did not say it. She didn't care.
Her duty was to be good to Mrs. Zhou. Everything else was not something she should care about.
Zhou Xingchen's deep eyes were clearly hidden. His lips moved as if he wanted to say something, but he finally gave up.
After the ball ended, the two of them returned to the Zhou family. As expected, Liang Wenrui was still sitting on the sofa in the living room, knitting the scarf that seemed like it would never be completed.
She heard the sound of the password lock being unlocked in the hall. She looked up from between the threads and stared at Zhou Xingchen and Liang Jia who had entered together.
After a long while, Liang Wenrui finally spoke with a deeper meaning, "Did you guys attend the ball together today?"
Zhou Xingchen changed his shoes at the entrance, took off his coat and hung it on the hanger. He replied lightly, "Yes."
Liang Wenrui's eyes flashed. She looked at her son, and then at her future daughter-in-law. She said word by word, "Then can you tell me what you mean by letting Xiao Jia appear in front of the media today?"
"What else can it mean? We're getting married."
Zhou Xingchen shook his head.
Not only did Liang Jia change her shoes, even Liang Wenrui did not expect him to be so direct. She could not help being stunned on the spot.
"We will get married sooner or later anyway. Why don't we get married earlier?" Zhou Xingchen did not care too much. He casually looked at the ball of thread in his mother's hand. "I'm going to sleep."
His shiny shoes knocked on the stairs and then disappeared from the bedroom. Liang Jia deliberately slowed down to change her shoes. When she got up, she indeed saw Mother Zhou looking at her with a gratified expression.
Her gaze was as if she was a gift that had finally been sent out.
"Little Jia, that brat can be considered enlightened." Liang Wenrui put the scarf in her hand to the side. She sat up straight and acted like she wanted to talk, "This first step is completed. In the future, you have to carefully study how to keep your husband's heart."
Liang Jia was very uncomfortable being looked at by that gaze. She said lightly, "Okay," "Mom, then I'll go first."
Before she could say the word "Lou," Mother Zhou interrupted. She was clearly in high spirits. She sat a little to the side and made room for Liang Jia. She waved to Liang Jia, "It is only nine o'clock now. What are you resting for? Come over here. Let's have a good look at how to organize a grand wedding."
She put her hands on her knees and muttered to herself, "You can't lose the face of the Zhou family."
Liang Jia had no choice but to rub her stiff face that had been smiling for the whole day and obediently sat over.
In the following month, the news of the Zhou family's family head getting married spread throughout the streets and alleys. A few media outlets who had taken photos of them at the ball published their photos one after another to show that they had predicted that something good was going to happen.
Liang Jia and Mother Zhou were busy preparing for the wedding, but the prospective groom, Zhou Xingchen, was busy with work and almost never showed himself, let alone getting involved in the wedding.
At night, the day's work was finally completed. Liang Jia sat in front of the computer and browsed the web page, quietly sighing.
Almost all of the major economic entertainment websites' pages were occupied by her and Zhou Xingchen's photos. The media's interest in their gossip far exceeded the wedding itself.
It seemed that the wedding of the century that Mother Zhou hoped for was just around the corner.
Liang Jia looked away and opened the curtains to stare blankly at the lights of the houses downstairs. The phone on her desk rang unexpectedly.
She turned around and glanced at the screen. Li Yin's name was flashing on the screen.
The news of the wedding had been released for a long time. It was only now that the wedding was approaching that the child called. He must have endured it for a long time.
Liang Jia helplessly shook her head. Her fingertips slipped and she picked up the phone, "Hello?"
Li Yin's voice was obviously angry. He did not have the usual sunny air. "Are you really going to marry Zhou Xingchen?"
Liang Jia was stunned for a moment. She did not understand why he was so angry.
She tapped the windowsill lightly with her fingertips. Her voice was deliberately relaxed. "The news has already spread. How could it be fake?"
"I thought." He thought that this was just another whim of Zhou Xingchen's. He did not expect it to be true. Li Yin suppressed the anger in his heart. He did not want to get angry at her. "Have you thought it through?"
"Yes." Liang Jia's hands stopped moving but the rhythm of her words did not change, "After all, the Zhou family has raised me for more than ten years. This is what I should do."
"They are just using you!" Li Yin was a little excited and his words became fierce. "What's more, Zhou Xingchen loves someone else. " Don't you know that? "
"Xiao Yin." Liang Jia touched her earlobe, trying to comfort him. "I have my own problems."
Every time she called his name like this, it meant that he was making trouble for no reason.
Li Yin's hand beside him clenched into a fist. It took him a lot of effort to calm down. "What if I don't agree to you marrying him?"
There was no response on the phone. A few seconds later, there was a beep.
Li Yin took off his phone and looked at it. Liang Jia had already hung up the phone. He called her again because it was switched off.
