C8 Bill

The bill.

Li Yin?

When this name came out of his mouth, Liang Jia's body slightly trembled.

How did he know of Li Yin's existence? Where did he know this name?

For the first time, she did not dare to look into his eyes because she felt guilty. She quietly turned her eyes to the side. "Don't always listen to those rumors that came out of nowhere."

"Rumors?" Zhou Xingchen looked down at her with a deep gaze.

Liang Jia calmed herself down and slowly looked up. Finally, her eyes met his.

"I won't talk about anything else. But Li Yin is the only person in the world that you care about." Zhou Xingchen's voice sounded bewitched. He slowly narrated each word, as if he was deliberately trying to make people tense up. "I don't know if I'm right or not."

From the first sentence he said, Liang Jia knew that he knew almost everything about her and Li Yin.

No matter how much she struggled, it was useless. She closed her eyes slightly. When she opened them again, there was no emotion in her eyes. "Are you investigating me?"

Zhou Xingchen raised his head and looked out the window. There was an endless stream of cars downstairs. His tone was as calm as if he was talking about the weather. "You are a member of the Zhou family to begin with. What is wrong with investigating you?"

"You are the patriarch of the Zhou family, of course you can do this." He shifted his gaze away and the pressure on her head disappeared. Liang Jia knew that she was asking for trouble by arguing with him, so she agreed to it.

She did not show the panic he imagined at all.

On the contrary, she displayed a calmness and indifference that ordinary people could not reach.

But the more it was like this, the more he wanted to see what she would do when he completely tore off her mask.

"So, I think you need to take a look at this." Zhou Xingchen looked into her amber eyes with a faint smile, not letting go of the slightest change in her face.

He put one hand in his pocket. He walked to the side of his drawer in an extremely casual manner, took out a piece of paper from the cabinet, and gently placed it in front of her.

Liang Jia's intuition told her that it was not a good thing, but she still forced herself to reach for it.

The thin A4 paper did not seem to have any weight.

It was a bill.

Ever since Liang Jia became an adult, she had contacted Li Yin without telling anyone from the Zhou family. She had secretly sold her jewelry and bag to support her only brother. She regularly went to the bank to transfer money to him every month.

And this bill was all the bank transfer records she had given Li Yin over the years.

Zhou Xingchen's tone was clearly sighing. But his voice inadvertently rose. He said, "I don't know what my mom will think when she sees these bills."

Liang Jia's palm was cold. She clenched her fingers and broke out in cold sweat.

Seeing her silence, the nameless fire in Zhou Xingchen's heart finally subsided a little. He leaned close to her sparkling and smooth earlobe and deliberately used a slightly torturous tone to slowly finish his sentence, "She still doesn't know, right? Her daughter-in-law, whom she had painstakingly nurtured for more than ten years, was actually raising another man outside. She is an ingrate."

"When the two of them are confronting each other, Liang Jia has always been the one who easily succeeds.

It was not easy for him to find something that she cared about. But this matter was still related to another man. The joy of his victory was mixed with another kind of anger. Complicated emotions rose from Zhou Xingchen's back, and he could not suppress it.

Liang Jia's nails sank deep into her palm. Soon, her fair skin was branded with a crescent shaped red mark. "What do you mean by doing this? What do you have in mind?"

The details of the bill shocked her. She had been very secretive when she transferred money to Li Yin. In other words, she had no idea where Zhou Xingchen found these bills.

"Of course I have a purpose." Zhou Xingchen obviously liked seeing her being controlled by others. He looked at her appreciatively for a long time before he casually pointed at the bill in Liang Jia's hand. "I am a businessman. I never do business that loses money."

Liang Jia really wanted to tear the paper apart and throw it away, but she knew that with his level of caution, he must have backup.

This matter definitely could not be let Mother Zhou know.

Regardless of whether it was for her or for Li Yin, she could not let this kind of thing happen.

Liang Jia took a deep breath. Other than giving in, she had no other choice. "Then let's make a deal. What kind of deal do you want?"

His actions actually forced her to reveal her original emotions.

Zhou Xingchen looked at her cold expression. For some reason, he found her more pleasing to the eye than her usual obedient appearance.

"It's very simple." He snapped his fingers and leaned his slender body against the mahogany desk. He tilted his head to face her. "You'll cooperate with me in the future. If I'm happy, my mom will never find out about these bills. But if I'm not happy..."

Speaking up to this point, he deliberately paused for a moment. His index finger moved to her side. "You will bear the consequences."

This man always seemed very confident.

Liang Jia bit her lip and held her temper. Her long eyelashes fluttered, "Then what do I need to do to make you happy?"

"It's very simple." Zhou Xingchen turned his head. His eyes were deep like a bottomless pond. "What you need to do now is to please me."
