C5 Chapter 3

It looked like no one was coming so I decided to head back to the taxi but a brown hair woman was approaching me already. I waited for her to come closer still not letting my guard down.

She smiled when she got closer extending her hand to me when she was in reach.

"Hi Miss Lorena right?"

I nod my head in response.

"Welcome to paris how was your trip?"

"Manageable?" I responded.

"Not quite the answer I was expecting." She looked at me but still controlled her manners.

"It was nice don't get me wrong, just the fear of flying that's all."

"Hmm I see. It's normal to get those butterfly feelings when traveling for the first time, and I see you have brought your materials."

"Yes ma'am." I shook my backpack slunged on my left shoulder to show I was ready to learn.

"Well Miss Price unfortunately you are not resuming today."

"But I brought my stuffs with me."

"Yes I see that, you will only be meeting with your school director and counselor and you will be on your way." She smiled showing off her blinding white teeth

"Why would I be meeting them if I am not resuming today."

"Let's move this way." She suggested.

"Well so they can know you and tell you what you need to know before starting with us."

"That's it?" I asked trying to figure out .y own thoughts.

"That's it." She opened the door for me to get in and I did.

"Who's there?"

"Ivy sir. She is here."

"Ahh, welcome my dear how was your trip?"

"Good sir."

"That's great to hear, I apologise I won't be here for a moment but do take your time and study the guide on this paper." He handed a folded paper to me. "And have a great day."

"That's all?" I asked getting confused with what just happened.

He chuckled. "Were you expecting a huge conference?"

"I don't know maybe."

"Sorry Miss, but I am up for a meeting Ivy here will be your escort. Ivy help her settle down before she resume."

"Yes sir."

"When do I resume?"

Next week monday, it written in the guide and feel free to ask Ivy for any questions."

"Thank you sir."

"You're welcome." Ivy followed me out of the university building and we entered the cab I came with.

"Told you I'd be here." The cab man said

"You said it and you did."

******------******

Who says living abroad was a pain, well not for me this place is heaven, and far off the most beautiful hotel I have seen. It is a place I will always dream of stepping my foot inside and never wish to wake up from this dream.

My hotel room had the best view from the top, it was just a single room with a small kitchen but the best part was the balcony. It gave a great view of the city and fresh breezes, I just wish I could fly out the window and touch the sky, but that's impossible because humans can't fly and we will just die if we jump out a window you know what I am saying. I know I am acting a bit too weird and local, but I am drowned by the beauty of this place, I think I might have fallen in love. I hope this dream never leaves even though in truth I know my stay in this luxurious hotel won't be long, its better I lived the moment.

Yesterday I visited the school I would be studying and they told me I can resume next week which should give me more time to prepare and explore. Miss Devon Ivy I learnt earlier, told me there was prepared free accommodation reserved for me in the school hostel but if I don't want to stay in the hostel I can rent an apartment close to the school but that would be at my own cost.

I am going to use this week to conclude and calculate my other expense, and think about how I was going to cope studying while trying to pay my bills, well my chocie is to On Sunday I will give them my choice so they worked on it and I can resume the following day.

To be honest I don't have money to buy shoes talkless of renting an apartment I rather chose staying at the hostel maybe from there I could gathered some cash and have my own apartment.

For lunch I think I would have some potato chips and rice. Thank God they also sponsored my stay in this hotel and my food for the next few days I would be here.

"How does this work?" I frowned at the telephone on a table, my tour escort told me I could order anything with this line and it was free to use. But I wasn't paying attention to her when she explained everything, instead my attention has been driven by the spectacular decorations of the hotel room. I have to suffer for not putting my ear to listen, and the worst part is I am on the twenty-sixth floor.

"Why didn't I ask questions when she asked me if I had any. I doubt I would find her anywhere in the hotel."

I sat down back on the comfortable bed thinking how I was going to make my way out of the room or order my food. All possibliites seem impossible. "Maybe I can track my way there."

'sounds great but how are you going to get back to your room? Remember this is not a small hotel.' my head told me which was true how do I trace back my room, people might get suspicious when I come up there doors saying 'excuse me is this my room?'

"Why do I have to screw this up?" I stood up from the bed pacing to and fro. After what seem like forever I finally made a choice. I took out an excercise notebook and a pen to scribble down directions and imaginary maps. It would be stupid to draw marking on a beautiful door like this. But a small dot won't hurt right?

After getting my materials I opened the door and took a careless peep outside, no one was present and it was dead silent, I then marked under the golden handle with a black marker and wrote down my room number on my notebook in case I got lost.

I quietly and cautiously left the room memorising every path I took and as many rooms as I could cram that way it would be easier to find my way back if I got lost again. I walked to the elevator but I am having an uneasy feeling about it and decided to find the stairs.

Each step I took I drew a line keeping in mind some room numbers I passed, of course I remembered to seperate them from my room number it will be a total disaster if I mixed them. I looked at my book to examine my terrible map only to feel pain on my left shoulder.

To be continued in the next chapter....
