Episode 2

My heart skipped a beat as I saw the doctor coming out of the surgery room, but the worst part is I could not determine the right facial expression doctor Bruce was giving since he was good at hiding it.

"Doctor what of my mum" I asked, but the doctor took some time to answer that question, not until I yelled at him again.

"sorry****" he first said as it seems like a knife pierced through my chest not until he continued his statement your mom lost a lot of blood before she got *****.

Immediately I cut him short advicing he went straight to the point. "She is in critical condition for now, but we assure you she will be fine". Doctor Bruce responded right away.

I gave out a huge sigh as I sat on the floor, then I could hear the sound of my heart beat as fast as if I was running a 100 kilometres race.

Not long after the police arrived at the hospital to carry on their investigation on the incident that occurred earlier!

"Are you Mr Leonard son of Miss Jacob '' the detective asked me.o Immediately I replied affirmatively "would you please come with us to the precinct for further questioning"

I followed the officers to the precinct and was taken to the investigation lab for questioning.

"Mr Leonard where were you on the 9 of March 2022"

Detective Samuel asked Leonard to explain what happened and where he was on that day.

I kept silent for some time before I took up the courage to speak up when I started relating where I was and the exact time I retard to my home only to find my mother on the floor.

After much questioning the detective couldn't find any evidence on me so they let me go, assuring me they will track me down once they are able to gather evidence against me.

After much investigation the officers found a lead after discovering the type of gun that was use through the bullets removed from my mom's body

It was a silent pistol. They used it so no one would hear the sound of the gun when it was being fired

I gave a deaf ear to what the officers were discovering since all evidence pointing to me was all cleared. My main concern was that my mom should be alright.

After two months in coma my mom finally was awake "where is my daughter" my mom asked in suspense.

On hearing her voice from my sleep assuming it was just dream could not respond not until my mother tapped me on the shoulder calling my name

"Mom" I called out and proceeded to call the doctor. Suddenly the doctor came in and carried out some check ups on her and concluded she was alright.

"thank you doctor" I complimented the doctor for his work effort.

"A simple task we were asked to do still we couldn't get hold of instead we let that man get pass us" I shouted

"we are sorry boss, we didn't know he was that cautious"

I pulled out my gun and rein bullets into the air as rage and disappointment filled the air.

"Someone tried to take my mother out. I want you Cardo to find whosoever or group that is involved in this."

"Yes Boss," Cardo replied as he stepped out of the camp.

"Get lost all of you just pray the big boss does not hear of our failure if not we are all dead" Diego said as he turned to receive orders from me.

"Hey take this package to the madam"

"Yes Boss" Diego replied after receiving the order from me.

I went in to see what the madam's reaction would be towards Diego after finding out that Mr Patrick was not dead.

"Ma this package was sent to you " Diego uttered while entering into the room where the madam sat on a pouch with a side stool beside her and a gun on the stool.

Suddenly she stood up slowly as she faced backwards

"What package is that Diego" she asked

"Mam it was sent from the Chinese client Mr Choi Jin" Diego replied

The madams eyes were filled with rage as she turned to face Diego

"Well that's not the package I was looking for. What order did I give you people yesterday? The Madam asked

Diego felt like a truck crashing down his face as he thought of what to say or the type of excuse to bring up.

"Well did you suddenly turned deaf Diego" The Madam queried as she also threatened to put bullets through each of his family members head if he should lie to her

"Mam I will tell you what happened ma.

While we chased after him madam he suddenly caught up to him and held him

Suddenly he held Jethro by the neck, so we had no other option but to abort the mission

after we noticed the arrival of the cops mam"

"No this can't be happening, Patrick must not be alive" she said angrily

"Where is Jethro now?" she asked

"He is outside ma" Diego replied as the madam ordered they bring him in.

"Madam you requested my presence ma" Jethro said while walking in.

"Why did Patrick escape" she asked

"He held me hostage, and the cops were clicking close on us. So we had no other choice but to let him go as we tried escaping from the coos"

Jethro muttered with fear.

The big boss turned around to see Jethro as she brought out a revolver and shot a bullet through his chest as blood rushed out and he tried gasping for breath but could not last long as he drew his last breath.

"Fool" she said as she picked up her phone and placed a call to me asking me to assign someone to carry out the task for her. " as you wish madam "

I replied.

I walked out of the camp as I took out my phone and placed a call out to Desmond, one of the Madams henchmen.

"I want you to kill Mr Patrick of the NDA(National Defence Agency) before two days" I requested "Yes sir, I will do as instructed" he replied.

{Stacy's Pov}

"Good morning Ma" the Nanny greeted. So I replied her also inquiring the where about of my father

"His is down stairs having his breakfast ma" the nanny answered

Then I ran down stairs to greet my father, as I approached the dining room I overhead my father having a serious talk on the phone

So I made few steps closer to the dining as I finally got a hearing of the conversation

My heartbeat became faster as I heard my father telling someone on the phone the stake of his hospital's legacy he had built for years now if he'll have to kill someone in his hospital.

"Maybe rather I send my boys to take him out before he gets to the hospital" my dad responded.

"Do whatever is necessary Mr Bruce, just make sure he does not live to see the next day" The unknown caller recommended.

Immediately I moved backwards slowly and ran towards my room feeling nervous about what to do, Then I had no other choice but to leave the house, but didn't know where to go

Suddenly an idea came into my head. I picked up my phone and placed a call across to Becca.

With a huge disappointment in my mind I tiptoed down stairs,and cunningly went past the dining room where my dad was without drawing his attention. I opened the door quietly and ran into the garage and hopped into my car and waited for the right moment to drive out.

My Dad had a panic attack as he revolved around the house thinking of what to do next.

"The thugs gave me only two hours to kill him" he said to himself

Immediately he sent for his driver as he got into the car and told him to drive straight to the hospital.

Few minutes later he arrived at the hospital and hurriedly came down from his car in the same manner walked into the hospital

As he took more steps closer to the patients ward his heart beats became faster and he knew that if he would do this he will have to deal with his conscience everyday

Quietly he opened the door and walked in towards the patient as he recalled what the caller said (the patient's life or your daughters life) he was confused

Immediately he walked out of the room and placed a call to Dickson instructing that security should be kept tight in the area and he should keep an eye on Stacy.

Nanny Esther went up to my room, as she walked up to my room she opened the door and called out to me but there was no response then she walked up to the toilet and found out I was no were to be found.

Meanwhile I was in the Garage as I was already inside my car and drove towards the gate.

"Hey Simon open the gate" I said as I stepped out of the car

Avoiding being spotted by my dad as I refused to blow the horns.

Rather I preferred talking to the gate man. I finally drove out of the premises as Simon opened the gate
