C3 Deal!

Alice almost fell from her seat after she heard what the man said. Her eyebrows were in one line while she was looking intently at the man. Did he just ask her to be his girlfriend? She didn't know whether to laugh or get mad at him because of how conceited he was.

"And, what on earth did enter your mind to think that I am going to say yes to you?" She asked him directly. She didn't want what this man said. Did she look like a woman who would easily agree to such an offer?

"Because you just got dumped, and I know that you wanted to get even with your ex-boyfriend," he said, looking at her with confidence.

Alice scoffed and then grinned. She couldn't believe that a handsome and muscular man like him was an eavesdropper. She raised her eyebrows and looked at him. He met her gaze, and it was as if he was not affected at all with the expression she had on her face.

"So, what do you think?" He asked again.

"And, what is it in you?" She asked instead of answering his question. She wouldn't believe that he was doing it because he felt pity for her because of being dumped by her boyfriend without acceptable explanation.

The man smiled at her smugly. "Smart," he uttered. She didn't know if that's a compliment or what, but she was not born yesterday not to think that he was also up to something. This man wouldn't be in front of her if he wouldn't get something out of his offer. That's one thing she was sure of.

"So, tell me, what would you get if I accept your offer?" She asked directly to him.

He shrugged his shoulders. "Just be my girlfriend. Act a real one, and that's all," he said.

"Why do you need me to do that?" She asked while her eyebrows were knitted together. She couldn't believe with his face he didn't have a girlfriend, not unless he was gay.

"No need for you to know," he said in a firm tone.

"Then, there's no need for this deal," she said quickly with a serious face. She didn't have any plan of making this man take control of their conversation. He was the one who went near her and approached her, so it means that he needed her more than she needed him. If he didn't want to do it in her way, then they better just forget that they have talked about it. She'll find another way to prove to Paul that it was his lost to leave her alone in the coffee shop.

The man smiled again while nodding his head. It was as if he couldn't believe that she just turned him down. One of his eyebrows rose while looking at her full of amusement.

"I couldn't believe this," he uttered. "I just need one to show my family, is that enough?"

"No, why don't you have one? Are you gay?" Alice couldn't hold herself from asking the man.

She saw how the man tried to stop himself from laughing but burst out a loud laugh after he heard what she said. "Y— you are amazing," he said in the middle of his laughter.

Alice felt more irritated because of the man's gesture. "Is that all you are going to say? I don't want to waste time, so if you wouldn't be saying anything, I will go ahead and leave," she said and stood up.

But for the second time around, the man held her hand and then made her sit down.

"I am Kendrick Villarama," he said and then he extended his hands for a handshake.

She just raised her eyebrow as a response. "So, what Mr. Villarama? I am waiting for your answer, or just think this conversation never happened," she said in an irritated voice.

"Woah, you sounded like a tigress. You couldn't be touched," he said and then his face turned serious. "I need a girlfriend because my grandmother might not give me my inheritance," he said in a low voice and then looked around the coffee shop, making sure that no one was listening to their conversation.

Alice couldn't help but wonder if he was even telling the truth, but she looked at him again. Well, with his looks and his clothes, she could say that he could be telling the truth.

"Okay, that's easy, but you have to pay me," she said out of the blue. She was even surprised that she said those words.

"Well," he said and then looked at her intently.

She shrugged her shoulders. "I want to have a share of the inheritance that you are talking about," she said, looking straight into his eyes. Since she already said it better just negotiate with him so she could hit two birds with one stone. "I am sure that it would be a huge amount for you to act so desperate like this," she added.

Kendrick laughed again. "Come on, I am running out of time, or probably, this is just a prank that's why you couldn't agree with what I am saying," she said while measuring the man by looking at him.

"Oh, I didn't know that there was such a woman who could talk to me like this. First, you told me that I could be gay, and now you are asking for a share of my inheritance. Seriously?" He said full of wonder. It was obvious in his face that he couldn't believe what she said.

"I am pretty serious. I should be taking everything that I could get from this deal," she uttered. "So, Mr. Villarama, if you refuse with my terms, then I will go ahead and leave. You can just wait for the next woman you can present your offer to and agree with it," she said and then stood up.

This time, she swayed her hands that the man held to stop her. "Hold on, let's talk about this," Kendrick said with a smirk, realizing that Alice was not the type to be easily persuaded.

She hesitated for a moment but decided to sit back down. "So, are we clear with the terms?" Alice asked, crossing her arms over her chest.

Kendrick leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Alright, a share of the inheritance it is. But there's one condition," he said, raising a finger.

Alice raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to continue.

"You have to convince my grandmother that we're madly in love and planning to get married," Kendrick stated, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Alice couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. "Madly in love and planning to get married? That's a bit much, don't you think?"

"It's the only way she'll believe it and agree to release my inheritance. Grandmother is quite traditional, you see," Kendrick explained.

Alice sighed, realizing that this plan would involve more than she initially thought. "Fine, I'll play along, but you better make it worth my while. And remember, this is strictly a business arrangement. No actual romance involved."

Kendrick smirked, "Deal."

As they shook hands, Alice couldn't shake off the feeling that this bizarre agreement was about to change her life in ways she never anticipated.
