C5 ANOTHER SLAP
Episode five
“We need to talk and fast, I will send you a location and you will meet me there without announcing it to the media.” Damon was enunciating on the phone
He had talked to his father about the news and it was decided that after they shut Cassandra’s mouth up, they were going to grant an interview and quell the false news going around about his wife and their marriage. He had managed to explain the plan to a distraught Serena who only nodded in agreement and went back to sleep, she was still sleeping when he left the room to make this call to his ex. She knew better than to create problems for him and that is what she was doing by spreading ill news about his wife on the media, the sooner he paid her off, the better for all of them.
He had no intentions of waking his wife up because of the issues of last night and partly because he wanted to wake her up with the good news that he has resolved the whole issue of his ex and the false news in the media. Damon was not someone to be trifled with and he was going to explain that in no certain terms to his ex. He instructed the driver to take Serena shopping immediately she wakes up and make sure she had a guard with her always to avoid being swarmed by people including the ones who meant ill to him and his family.
He dressed up immediately and texted Cassandra the location they were to meet. She arrived minutes after him and immediately threw her arms around him as soon as she entered the lodge.
“Sit down” he said
“Cmon Damon, I meant nothing by yesterday. I was just so pissed that you would get over me that easily and marry that girl, she has no class, just some stunning green eyes and a bunch of dirty red hair.”
“You are talking about my wife Cassandra and I would not tolerate you saying bad words about her and feeding the media lies.”
“Now now, I fed the media nothing. They asked for an interview and my opinion on your wife and I gave them exactly what they asked for.”
“You seem to have forgotten about your dirty little secret which I know about, how you came to be a very famous model. Do not allow me go dirty with you, keep my wife’s name out of your mouth, is that understood?”
“Yes, you don’t need to be all grumpy. I know you do not love her, I know that at least”
“You know nothing, now leave before I do something I will totally regret.”
He watched her huff and puff before attempting to plant a peck on his cheek which he brushed off immediately. How had he fallen in love with this extremely vindictive person, he thought to himself. He was seeing her with fresh eyes and what he was seeing was not good at all.
Damon paid a visit to his father at the office and was ushered in by a blonde, his father had a thing for blonde secretaries which Damon had never understood, he had never been one to check but he discovered he was having a thing for redheads and he did not want to admit it was because of Serena.
“You got yourself a new secretary”
“Yes, the old one tried to blackmail me”
“I already spoke to Cassandra.”
“And?”
“It is solved, she won’t be saying anything about us again.”
“Good, how is your wife? How did she take it?”
“She is distraught but will bounce back.”
“She had better and I would have to ask again, have you briefed her?”
“I will”
“How long is it going to take you to set down a couple of rules.”
“Father, you heard me say I will brief her. Do not pressure me.”
“I just care about you and this company is all.”
“Yes but not enough about your late wife and my mother.”
“Are we going to have this conversation again?”
“No, I am just telling you not to push it with me. I am taking over this company for you against my wishes should be enough, do not push me.”
Damon exited his father’s office building in rage, he was the only son and hence was supposed to take over a company that had cost the life of his mother. As much as he did not want to be involved in anything concerning the family, he had no choice. He called his driver and asked if he had taken Serena out as Instructed and got a yes, they were at the boutique and so he decided to stop by but asked him not to inform Serena he was stopping by.
He walked into the store the minute Serena was receiving a hug from a strange man, he walked over to where she stood smiling up at the man and whispered in her ears
“Hello wife”
She jumped out of her skin as soon as she heard Damon’s voice in her ears and for once she wished the ground could open up and swallow her whole.
“Are you not going to introduce me dear” Damon asked her
She looked at him in misery and then said
“Damon meet Jakes, jakes meet Damon, my husband.”
Damon turned and shook Jakes’s outstretched hand whilst sizing up the man
“I was just telling Serena how lucky she is to have ended up with you, you know we dated for five years when She was just short of being called a boy with her pudgy teeth and red hair she always put in ponytails.” Jakes blabbered
“Is that so?” Damon asked wondering if it would be extra to knock the man’s teeth in.
As they were talking they hardly noticed the blonde approaching them until she hugged Jakes from the back
Serena thought somebody had probably tried to slap her again because standing before her, arms linked to that of her ex boyfriend was her sister, Eloise.
