C9 Accident
Simon POV
“No, Aria!" I yelled as I saw them drive away.
I pushed him away, grabbed my gun, and shot it in the air,
"Don't try to stop me, I'll hurt you," I warned him as I headed to my car.
Everyone came out now, probably because of the loud gunshot.
"What's happening, Simon?" Uncle shouted, walking towards me.
"Don't stop me, Uncle. I'm going to get her," I argued.
Then a loud shriek came out, diverting us from our talk.
"No!"
"Paola, please open your eyes, please," Martina cried.
We all rushed to where she was. Paola sprawled out on the floor, blood coming out from the side of her head.
"Paola!" Aunt Celine wailed, pulling Paola’s little unconscious body into her arms.
I stepped back in shock as I tugged at my hair. What have I done?.
"Call the ambulance!" Uncle shouted, snatching the gun from me.
"What have you done, Simon? Just pray nothing happens to her, pray!"
The ambulance came, and we all rushed to the hospital.
The nurses put her on a stretcher and wheeled her to the operating room immediately.
"Please save my baby girl," Aunt Celine begged the doctors as tears rolled down her cheeks uncontrollably.
"Why did you have to do this, Simon?" Uncle asked angrily.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," I murmured shakily, as I slumped to the floor, holding my head in my hands.
"It's Aria you should blame, Dad. Once again, her bad luck has affected all of us!" Martina hissed.
"This isn't her fault, Martina. Aria had nothing to do with this," I glared at her.
"You still defend her? Enough!, Look at the state your stupid love for her has put little Paola in," Uncle fumed in anger.
Then the doctors came out and all our attentions immediately turned to them,
"How is she, doctor? How is my baby?" Aunt Celine panicked.
"It's a miracle. We saved her life but the bullet went deep, removing it would have killed her," The Doctor informed.
"I am sorry to say, she will have to live with this bullet in her brain. Don’t worry, She will be perfectly healthy, but for now, I would advise she stays away from any stress or pressure, both physically and emotionally.” He explained further.
My heart sank in guilt at the news, this is all happening because of me.
"You can see her now, but one at a time," he added and with that, he left.
"I want to see my baby," Aunt Celine requested and she was taken inside by the nurse.
She didn’t even spare a glance at me and I can’t really expect her to. I can just imagine the pain she’s going through, the pain I’m making everyone go through, especially little Paolita.
"Simon, I will take this as an accident. You're lucky she survived, but I won't take it lightly with you the next time you create a fuss about Aria. Forget about that wrench!.” Uncle warned.
I shook my head as I ran my hands over my head,
“I can't. You don't understand. I'm in love with her," I replied, slouching outside, ignoring his calls.
I sat by the hospital fountain, thinking about losing Aria to him.
"I love her so much. I can't stand to see her with another man.” I whispered to myself in frustration.
"So you think sitting here sulking is going to help you?" Martina approached me.
"I am not really in the mood for company, Martina." I groaned.
"You would be a coward if you let Aria be with another man, knowing you love her. You have to get her back," she insisted.
"What do you want me to do, Martina? I tried. You see how it turned out. Paola got shot!" I lamented in frustration.
She clicked her tongue and sat next to me,
“Yes, that's unfortunate, but that was because you didn't plan well. You just acted like a fool."
"Listen, I'm going to help you," she offered.
"You don't help anyone unless you have something to gain." I squinted my eyes at her in suspicion.
"You are my cousin brother, Simon, and I care about you, believe it or not. I just want to help." She shrugged.
I shook my head as I stood up,
“I'm not in the mood for your games, Martina," I replied and walked away.
I knew better than to trust Martina, she is always up to something, especially when it has something to do with Aria.
Celine's POV
I walked into the room and sighted my little girl on the bed with a bandage wrapped around her head.
Tears fell freely as I sat by her side, holding her small hands in mine.
"I'm sorry, baby. Mommy couldn't protect you,” I cried, kissing her hands.
“Mommy?" She croaked, her voice sounded weak as she fluttered her bright eyes open.
My heart swelled with joy as a small smile stretched out on her cheeks.
"Oh, my Lola, my baby girl," I said, peppering her soft cheeks with kisses.
“I am so sorry baby,” I groaned.
"Why am I here, Mommy?, I don’t remember what happened.” she asked looking around in confusion.
I gulped, blinking back more tears threatening to leave my eyes,
“You got a little sick, my flower," I lied as I forced a smile.
There was no point in telling her the truth and stressing her about what happened.
"Huh, my head hurts," she frowned in a cute way.
I kissed her bandage, “It will hurt less soon, princess."
"Where's my Sorella, Aria?" she asked suddenly.
"She's with her husband," I smiled slightly.
“Oh.” She pouted sadly, then groaned in pain as she held her head.
I jumped to my feet in panic,
“Lola, does it hurt?.” I asked, but she shook her head.
“Not really.”
“Mummy, I remember now.” She started.
"I remember seeing them talk with Uncle Simon. Theo had a gun in his hand, and Uncle Simon had a gun in his hand, and the other man had a gun in his hand.”
“They all pointed it at each other, like a movie, and my Sorella was crying. I wanted to go hug her, but Martina stopped me," she explained and then pouted.
I blinked furiously in shock as I heard what she said.
This means Martina was there the whole time, but she lied they were just returning when the bullet hit Paola.
"I'm thirsty, Mommy." Paola coughed, distracting me from mh thoughts.
I quickly poured water into a little cup and gave it to her.
"Rest now, baby girl." I kissed her cheeks and stroked her hair till she fell asleep.
Then I quietly walked outside. Martina has some serious explaining to do.
Just then, she approached me,
“Mom, I was just..."
I slapped her hard across the face.
"Mom!" She exclaimed in shock, placing her palm on her cheeks.
"Listen here girl! You do your nonsense, but you keep Paola out of it. How could you even do this?" I yelled, eyeing her in disgust.
"What are you talking about, Mom? I don't..." she tried pretending again, but I cut her off.
"You lied! You were there when everything started, yet instead of coming in to alert us, you chose to stay there because of your stupid plans. Did it occur to you to even bring your little sister in? and now because of you, she has a bullet in her head!" I retorted.
"Might I remind you, I wasn't the one who shot her. It was Simon, and it's all because of Aria!" She argued in return, with no evidence sign of remorse.
I shook my head at her stupidity and grabbed her arms,
“Look Martina, he already chose Aria, give up and move on!, how can you be this stupid? I’m surprised you are even my daughter at all.” I hissed at her and walked away in anger.
I sat on the hospital waiting bench with frustration.
This is all still that Aria’s fault. My stupid daughter just doesn't know how to handle a situation.
I wonder when we would be all free from her bad luck.
