C8 Does It Feel Good?
"Priya, what should I do now?"
I gazed out the window, feeling lost and empty.
For so many years, Anatol was my everything. My whole life revolved around him. Without him, I had lost all sense of purpose, not knowing the meaning of my own life.
"Now that you've seen his true face, it's for the best. It would have been worse if you had discovered it after getting married."
Priya sat beside me, giving me a comforting hug. Her eyes reflected genuine compassion.
"But it still hurts so much!"
I held onto Priya tightly, desperately wanting to cry but finding no tears left. My heartache remained, refusing to dissipate.
"You will forget about that scumbag, and you will find a man who is a thousand times better than him. Make him regret it when the time comes!"
Priya's voice brimmed with determination as she looked into my eyes.
I felt grateful to have such a supportive friend by my side. Without her comforting presence and encouraging words, I doubted I would have made it this far.
"Get up, change clothes, put on makeup. Today, we're going on a wild shopping spree to let it all out. After today, let that scumbag vanish completely from your life!"
Priya urged, pulling me off the bed.
We went to a nearby department store, browsing through the women's clothing section.
I had heard that this department store belonged to the company Anatol worked for. The mere thought of him triggered resistance within me, and I longed to escape. However, Priya held onto me firmly.
I knew Priya was doing this to help me move on as quickly as possible, so despite my reluctance, I didn't leave.
We aimlessly wandered through the women's clothing section, and soon Priya had a bag full of items while I hadn't purchased anything.
Suddenly, not far away, I spotted Anatol and Skylynn—an instant pang of pain shot through my heart.
Disheveled and distressed, I quickly turned around, attempting to leave while pulling Priya along.
"Anna, why are you pulling me? I haven't finished looking yet." Priya said, oblivious to the presence of the two individuals nearby and perplexed by my sudden change in behavior.
"Let's go somewhere else. I don't want to be here."
I kept my back turned to avoid being noticed by them.
Frowning, Priya looked at me with confusion, likely wondering why I had suddenly acted so differently.
Just as she was about to say something, the approaching duo noticed my presence.
"What a coincidence to run into you here. Didn't expect you to bounce back from your breakup so quickly. It's only been a few days, and you're already in the mood for shopping."
Skylynn's voice rang out, dripping with scorn and arrogance.
Though her words struck me with pain, I refused to show any signs of sadness or weakness in front of these despicable individuals!
Finally understanding why I had pulled her away earlier, Priya stepped forward, positioning herself in front of me as a shield.
"Well, well. Look who we have here.
The meddling bitch who ruins other people's relationships! How do you have the audacity to show up?"
