C3 This Is Impossible!
The old steward cleared his throat and suggested, "Perhaps we should call the young master first to clarify the situation. He's not one to act rashly. It's possible there's a case of mistaken identity..."
Old Master Gu felt like he had been doused with cold water and grumbled, "It has to be my grandson!"
He had been longing for a grandson for what seemed like an eternity.
But his good-for-nothing son hadn't even managed to find a girlfriend, let alone father a child. Old Master Gu was practically seeing green from waiting!
Enough was enough.
He decided to call his son.
If his son denied it, a paternity test would be necessary to convince him.
Otherwise, he would be certain that he had found his beloved grandsons!
And not just one, but two!
Old Master Gu's eyes shone with excitement as he dialed Gu Shimu's number.
As another day went by, the afternoon arrived.
At the Rainy Coffeehouse in Night Capital.
Tang Yexi fought back the impulse to punch the man sitting across from her and offered, "One million yuan to ensure your girlfriend, who absconded with your money, is found within three days."
The man opposite her, Yuen Hongkuo, was a client of her firm, and quite the unfortunate one. After a three-month romance, he had been swindled out of five million yuan and various pieces of jewelry. Now, he was asking her firm to track down the woman responsible.
Yuen Hongkuo gazed at Tang Yexi's stunning face, his own face, neck, and the tips of his ears flushing red. "Forget about that woman! I'll give you one million yuan, no, five million, to be my girlfriend!"
Tang Yexi remained silent, simply picking up the silver spoon from her plate and bending it effortlessly between her hands. She then nonchalantly molded it into a ball. The once delicate silver spoon was now a crumpled sphere.
Tang Yexi looked at Yuen Hongkuo with a sweet smile, "Mr. Yuen, could you repeat that? The wind was so loud, I didn't quite catch it."
Yuen Hongkuo's face paled.
He glanced at the silver ball Tang Yexi was toying with in her hand, then back at her face. Swallowing hard, he stammered with a resigned determination, "To die beneath the peony, a ghost I'd rather be, whisked away by the wind, the wind, the wind, the wind!"
Tang Yexi, "…"
"Hahahahaha…" Tang Chengque and Tang Chengjue burst into laughter from their table, showing no restraint.
Tang Yexi shot them a sharp look.
Tang Chengjue playfully stuck out his tongue, hopped off the red leather sofa, and scampered over to Tang Yexi's side, cuddling into her embrace. With his large, sparkling eyes, he addressed Yuen Hongkuo, "Uncle, thank you for your affection towards my mom, but we have a dad, you know!"
It was just that they had no idea where their father was, nor had they ever met him.
"Mom, Mom?" Yuen Hongkuo stared at Tang Chengjue, dumbfounded as if struck by lightning.
"Yes, that's right!" Tang Chengjue clambered onto Tang Yexi, wrapped his arms around her neck, and planted a big kiss on her: "I also have an older brother. We're twins! My mom is incredibly amazing!"
Tang Chengque stepped forward, his little face set in seriousness as he introduced himself, "I'm the older brother!"
"No... this can't be true... this can't be true..." Yuen Hongkuo struggled to come to terms with such a devastating revelation.
The woman he had instantly adored was already the mother of two kids!
It couldn't be possible!
The young woman sitting across from him appeared to be barely in her twenties. How could she possibly have children that old?
