C7 You'll Know after You Fight!
Tears streamed down Gu Wanfeng's face.
Is it really okay for someone so young to be gambling?
And to speak about it so eloquently!
There was no need for a paternity test. This child was 99.99999% his Young Master's offspring!
Realizing the boy was likely their Young Master, he crouched down, kneeling on one knee before Tang Xiaoci, meeting his gaze at eye level. "Young Master, what would you like to bet on?"
Tang Xiaoci replied, "On who wins and who loses!"
"Oh, oh..."
Gu Wanfeng was about to place his bet on their Young Master's win when he heard Tang Xiaoci continue, "I bet my mom loses."
Gu Wanfeng was at a loss for words.
He must be sleep-deprived; his hearing couldn't be trusted. He must be hearing things.
He said, "Oh, Young Master, you mean you're betting on your mom to win, right?"
Tang Xiaoci blinked. "Nope, I'm betting on Uncle Handsome to win. My mom loses!"
Gu Wanfeng gave him a bewildered look and managed to ask, "May I ask why?"
Didn't he always enjoy watching his mother fight?
Plus, his mother was formidable, having taken down Mr. Qiuyu, the second strongest in their household, in a single move.
Of course, Mr. Qiuyu might have been caught off guard, and knowing that Tang Yexi could very well be the biological mother of their Young Master, he might have pulled his punches.
But Tang Yexi was undeniably skilled in combat, which was evident from just one move.
So why would the little guy bet on his mother losing?
Tang Xiaoci's eyes narrowed into a smile, and he leaned in close to Gu Wanfeng's ear, whispering, "...I won't tell you!"
Gu Wanfeng's face was streaked with tears once more.
Why whisper in his ear if he wasn't going to spill the beans?
Was it really fair to tease him like that?
Watching the little guy's adorable antics, Gu Shimu felt a peculiar sensation stirring within him.
He had no interest in women and didn't care much for children.
Yet, inexplicably, he felt an extraordinary sense of closeness to these twins.
Especially when he saw the little one, half a head shorter than his brother, smiling with pure, carefree joy. His heart couldn't help but soften at the sight.
He was overcome by an inexplicable urge to touch, hug, and pamper him.
Kneeling before Tang Xiaoci, he asked with a light chuckle, "May I inquire about the wager?"
"Sure," Tang Xiaoci replied, pointing at Gu Wanfeng's head. "Let's bet ten strands of his hair!"
Gu Wanfeng could only respond with silence.
It seemed the Young Master was intent on avenging the hair-pulling incident on behalf of his brother.
Gu Shimu grinned, glancing at Gu Wanfeng. "Agreed."
Gu Wanfeng remained speechless. What more could he say?
He nodded in acquiescence, "Alright, Young Master, as you wish."
Tang Xiaoci's eyes twinkled. "You're betting on my mom to win, right?"
Gu Wanfeng confirmed, "...Yes!"
With the young master's heart set firmly, how could he possibly disagree?
"Yay!" Tang Xiaoci was ecstatic, laughing joyfully as he dashed back to his brother. "Brother, wait for me to avenge you! Pulling hair really hurts!"
Gu Shimu chuckled, unable to contain his amusement. "You're that confident I'll win?"
Tang Xiaoci stuck out his tongue playfully. "I'm not telling!"
Gu Shimu laughed softly. "No worries, I'll find out the outcome soon enough."
After all, the winner would be clear after the match!
He turned to Tang Yexi. "Miss Tang, would you like to choose the location, or shall I?"
