C136 She Is Your Child

Tracy noticed immediately. She walked over and glared at him. “If I see you making that face in front of my granddaughter again, you’ll answer to me.”

Ben forced a smile. “I’m happy.” “You look constipated, not happy.” Even Kelvin frowned. “Whether she is a boy or girl, she is your child.” Ben remained silent.

Seeing the atmosphere becoming awkward, Samantha lowered her head and focused on her daughter. The little girl was sleeping peacefully, completely unaware of the emotions surrounding her arrival.

The next morning news spread quickly at the company. Vice Director Ben’s fiancée had safely delivered a baby girl.

Employees chatted excitedly throughout the building. When I arrived, Chris was already waiting for me outside. “Brother.” “Morning.”

Chris lowered his voice. “Did you hear the news About Samantha?” I nodded. “Apparently she gave birth last night.” I remained calm. “Then that’s good.”

Chris looked at me carefully. “That’s all?” I smiled. “What else do you want me to say?” Chris shrugged. “Nothing.”

The past was the past, I genuinely hoped the child would grow up healthy. That was all. Soon Alicia arrived. She was carrying coffee and looked unusually energetic.

“Good morning, brothers.” “Morning.” “You two heard the news?” Chris nodded. “Everyone heard.” Alicia sighed. “The internet is already discussing it.”

The three of us exchanged a few words before heading inside. The workday passed quickly. By the time everyone clocked out, I had already made plans.

My laptop had carried me through countless projects, assignments, and security investigations. Now it was time for an upgrade.
