C218 You Are Too Scary

Mary stood up immediately. "Oh dear..." "You two bought far too much." "You shouldn't have spent all your money." Chris shrugged helplessly. "I tried telling her that." "But she wouldn't listen." He looked over his shoulder. "Should I tell them?" Sarah's eyes widened. "No!" She shook her head so quickly that everyone laughed again.

Chris grinned mischievously. Too late. "She said she wants her niece or nephew to grow up healthy." "So she bought everything she thought the baby's mother might need." Sarah covered her face with both hands. "Chris!" "I told you not to say that!" The room instantly filled with cheerful laughter. Peter chuckled heartily. "What a thoughtful child." Georgia smiled warmly before walking toward Sarah. "Thank you." "On behalf of our future great-grandchild..." "We appreciate your kindness."

Sarah blushed until even her ears turned red. "Grandma..." "It's really nothing." "I was only buying a few things." Chris immediately interrupted. "A few things?" He pointed dramatically at the mountain of shopping bags. "If this is 'a few things,' then I don't want to know what 'many things' looks like." Even Mark laughed. Sarah pouted. "You weren't supposed to expose me." Chris shrugged. "I only told the truth."

Finally gathering enough courage, Sarah carried the bags toward Alicia's bed. One after another... She carefully unpacked everything. Everyone watched curiously. "This is body lotion..." She placed it neatly on the bedside table. "This one is pregnancy-safe." She picked up another bag. "These are healthy oats." "They're easier to digest." Another bag. "Fresh fruits." Another. "Vitamins." Another. "Soft towels." Mary nodded approvingly. "You really thought of everything."

Sarah smiled shyly. "I only bought what have helped me so far with my pregnancy." "I wasn't sure what she would need." Alicia looked at the growing pile of supplies before laughing helplessly. "Sarah..." "I'm not staying in the hospital anymore." "I'm going home." "You really didn't have to buy all this." Sarah shook her head firmly. "No." "Whether you're in hospital or at home..." "You still need these."

She folded her arms. "And from today..." "You have to eat healthy." "No skipping meals." "No junk food." "No greasy food." "And definitely no spicy food." Before Alicia could answer... Georgia immediately joined in. "Exactly." "Now do you understand why we refused to let you eat that roasted chicken this morning?" The room erupted with laughter again. Alicia sighed dramatically. "So everyone has joined forces against me."

Mary nodded proudly. "Of course." "You lost your voting rights the moment you became pregnant." Even Mark and Quinton couldn't hold back their laughter. Alicia looked around dramatically. "This family bullies patients." I chuckled. "Wife..." "They're bullying you because they love you." She pretended to think for a moment before nodding. "...Fine." "I'll forgive everyone."

She looked toward her father. "Dad..." "What am I supposed to do with all these supplies?" Mark smiled. "Take them home." "You'll need every single one sooner or later." Alicia nodded before turning toward Georgia. "Grandma..." "Please call the maids." "Tell them to prepare a bigger dinner tonight." Georgia smiled knowingly. "Why?" Alicia grinned. "Because everyone is coming to our house." "I want all the families to have dinner together."

Peter laughed. "Now that's my granddaughter." "I like that idea." Georgia had already taken out her phone. "I'll call them immediately." Then Alicia turned toward Chris. "You protector..."

"Invite Uncle David and Aunt Valeria." "Tell them to go straight to our residence." Chris folded his arms dramatically. "Why do you always order people around?" Alicia raised her chin proudly. "Because my IQ is one thousand percent." Everyone burst into uncontrollable laughter. Chris pretended to sigh. "See?" "This is exactly why Mike spoils you." She smiled triumphantly. "Because he's smart."

Chris looked at me. "Brother..." "Are you hearing this?" I simply laughed. "I learned a long time ago not to argue with her." Another wave of laughter spread through the room. Alicia then turned towards sarah. Before she could speak... Sarah quickly raised both hands. "No." "Absolutely not." Everyone looked at her. She smiled awkwardly. "My parents have already had dinner." "And besides..." She glanced sideways at Chris. "He lied."

Chris blinked innocently. "How did I did?" Sarah nodded repeatedly. "You told everyone we were coming for my pregnancy check-up." "You even winked at me." Mary covered her mouth while laughing. Peter shook his head. "You youngsters..." Chris rubbed the back of his head. "I had to think of something." Sarah folded her arms. "You nearly got me into trouble." The room echoed with laughter once again.

Feeling embarrassed, Chris quickly stepped toward the door. "I'll call my mother before everyone blames me again." He escaped outside while everyone laughed behind him. A short while later, everyone gathered their belongings. The nurses completed Alicia's discharge paperwork, and after thanking them once again, the entire family made their way downstairs to the hospital parking area.

Outside... Three vehicles waited. Peter smiled. "Alright." "Let's decide who rides with whom." Without hesitation, Quinton and Mary climbed into Peter and Georgia's black sedan. "We'll ride together." Peter laughed. "Looks like our car is full." Meanwhile, Alicia walked confidently toward the blue Hyundai. She held out her hand. "Keys." I stared at her. "Alicia..." "I thought I was driving."

She smiled mischievously. "I'm healthier than you." "You've been working all day." "I'm driving." Everyone laughed. I surrendered the keys. "As you command, Director." Sarah and Chris climbed into the back seat. Mark looked around only to realise no one was walking toward his Range Rover. He sighed dramatically. "So..." "Nobody wants to ride with me?" Alicia laughed. "Dad..." "You're too scary." "Everyone would feels nervous in your car." Even Peter laughed loudly. "Looks like the Minister of Police has been abandoned."

Mark pretended to look heartbroken. "I see how it is." "I raised you for this." The parking lot filled with laughter one last time. One after another... The engines started. Peter's black sedan pulled away first. The blue Hyundai followed closely behind. Finally, Mark's Range Rover joined them. Together... The three vehicles left the hospital and headed toward the Mooney family residence...Where, for the first time in many years... Both families would gather beneath one roof.
