C253 Ruthless Enemy
In an undisclosed location, the atmosphere inside the heavily guarded estate remained calm. The large office doors opened quietly as the Guard, dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, stepped inside. He walked forward before respectfully bowing. "Good morning, Sir." Willy Harris looked up from the report he had been reading. A faint smile appeared on his face. "Morning, Brian."
He placed the document on the desk. "What is it?" Brian straightened his posture. "Boss... we've managed to trace the location of the person who attempted to track you yesterday." The smile on Willy's face widened. "Oh?" "And where exactly is this person?" Brian replied immediately. "Sir... the signal originated from Scotland." For a brief moment, silence filled the office. Then Willy burst into laughter. "Hahaha..." "So they're from Scotland."
He slowly stood up and walked toward the window overlooking the estate. "I only have one real enemy in Scotland." He folded his hands behind his back. "Tell me..." "Was it Peter Mooney?" Brian shook his head. "No, Sir." "Our technicians narrowed the signal down to another part of the city. It wasn't traced to the Mooney Residence." The smile on Willy's face slowly disappeared. "If it isn't Peter..." "Then who would dare investigate me?" His eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "Someone brave..." "...or someone foolish."
Brian remained silent, waiting for further instructions. After thinking for a few moments, Willy spoke again. "Go to that location." "I want to know exactly who that person is." "I want their name..." "Their occupation..." "Their family...""And every person they're connected to." Brian nodded. "Yes, Boss." Willy's expression suddenly turned cold. "If they're simply curious..." "Torture them as a warning ." "But if they become a threat to our organisation..."
He paused for a moment before finishing calmly, "Eliminate them." Brian bowed deeply. "It will be done." Without another word, he turned and left the office. Within minutes, several black SUVs drove out of the estate, carrying Brian and his team toward Scotland. Willy sat on his chair and thought to himself, "People say i am ruthless yet they are the one's who are always provoking me." "Whoever you are don't blame me for being ruthless."
Meanwhile, at Lucia Goods... The company grounds had already become busy as employees arrived for another day of work. Luxury vehicles slowly entered the executive parking area one after another. Alicia's car had already been parked in the Director's reserved space long before most employees arrived. A few moments later, I drove into the parking lot. After parking my car, I grabbed my laptop bag and headed straight toward the administration building.
Instead of going to my own office, I instinctively walked toward the Director's Office. Just like every morning. After knocking gently, I opened the door. "Good morning, my wife." Alicia looked up from the files spread across her desk. Unlike yesterday, she looked energetic and refreshed. A bright smile appeared on her face. "Good morning, Husband." She stood up immediately. "Are you alright?" "I saw the message you sent me yesterday."
Her expression became serious. "What happened?" "I'm sorry I didn't reply last night." "I finished cleaning and somehow fell asleep." I blinked in confusion. "Cleaning?" "What exactly were you cleaning?" A mischievous smile appeared on her face. "You'll see when you come home." "It's a surprise." I laughed softly. "Now you've made me curious." She walked closer before looking directly into my eyes. "Forget the surprise for now." "What happened yesterday?" "You sounded worried in your message."
I nodded. "Yesterday, after getting home, I started investigating Charlie Kinlore like you asked." "And?" Alicia asked patiently. "What did you find?" I scratched the back of my head. "Well..." "I didn't exactly find what I was looking for." "What do you mean?" "I couldn't connect Charlie to the Harris Family." "No matter how much I searched, everything kept disappearing." She frowned. "So what did you do?" I sighed. "I changed my target." Her eyebrows rose slightly. "You changed your target?" "To who?" I answered honestly. "Willy Harris."
The moment those words left my mouth... My phone suddenly began vibrating violently. Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! The loud emergency alarm echoed throughout the office. Both of us froze. "What's that?" Alicia asked immediately. I quickly took out my phone. At first, I thought it was just another system notification. But when I looked at the screen... My face instantly changed. "No..." I whispered. "I completely forgot." Alicia noticed my expression immediately. "Husband?" "What is it?"
Without answering, I quickly opened the notification. It was an alert from one of my hidden security cameras. Specifically... The one installed outside our old family house. I immediately opened the live feed. Alicia walked over and stood beside me. "What happened?" The moment the video started playing... Both of us froze. Three black SUVs had parked directly outside my parents' former residence.
One after another, armed men dressed entirely in black stepped out of the vehicles. Each of them wore black masks. Each carried a rifle. Neither of us spoke. We simply stared at the screen. One man pointed toward the house. Immediately, the group split into smaller teams. Some forced their way inside the house. Others surrounded the property. A few remained outside, watching the street as if ensuring no witnesses came close. Alicia unconsciously grabbed my arm. "What..." "...is this?" I slowly shook my head. "I don't know."
The two of us continued watching silently. Inside the camera feed, several men entered the house. Others searched every corner of the yard. Even the garage wasn't spared. Minutes passed. Finally, they all returned outside. The man who appeared to be their leader took out his phone and made a call. He spoke briefly before nodding. Then he waved his hand. Immediately, every man returned to their vehicle. Within seconds, all three SUVs drove away.
Only after they disappeared from view did I finally release the breath I had been holding. I slowly lowered the phone. "Thank goodness..." "My parents had already moved out." Alicia turned toward me. Her face had become pale. "Husband..." "What does this mean?" "Who were those people?" I remained silent for a few moments before answering. "I think..." "...they belong to Willy Harris." The words left Alicia completely stunned. "W-What?"
She looked back at the phone before looking at me again. "I don't understand." "What does you searching for Willy Harris yesterday have to do with those armed men showing up at your old house?" I took a deep breath before beginning to explain. "When someone is skilled in cyber security..." "...or hacking..." "You don't only search for information." "You can also attempt to locate someone's digital footprint." "The moment I started tracking Willy Harris..." "...his own cyber-security team most likely detected the intrusion."
I paused before continuing. "They immediately tried tracing my location using my IP address." Alicia listened carefully. I continued, "I realised what was happening almost immediately." "So I shut down my computer before completing the search." "But..." I sighed. "I think they had already traced enough information to locate our house." Alicia slowly looked back at the frozen camera image on my phone. A worried expression spread across her face as the reality of the situation finally began to sink in.
