C292 Do You Really Want To Meet Them

At the Gomez residence, Laura had completely forgotten to tell Bright about the invitation. By the time she woke up, it was already nine o'clock. She glanced at the time on her phone before suddenly remembering the message. "Eleven o'clock..." After taking a quick shower, she hurried downstairs. Prince, Godness, and Bright were already seated at the dining table. Laura joined them, took a few bites of breakfast, then looked at Bright. "Husband, we have somewhere to go today."

Bright looked at her curiously. "Where? Have you planned something for us?" Laura blushed slightly. "Well... my friends invited me, and they specifically said I should come with you." The atmosphere around the table immediately became strange. Prince, Godness, and Bright all looked at her with curiosity. Laura smiled awkwardly before taking out her phone. Prince asked, "The same friends who bought those watches for double the price?" Laura nodded. She opened the message and handed the phone to Bright.

He read aloud, "Hello, Mrs. Gomez. This is Mrs. Chambers. I'd like to invite you and your husband to join us for a Saturday outing. We'll be meeting at Celtic Mall at 11:00 a.m. Please make sure you come together with your husband." The moment he finished reading, he smiled. "They called you Mrs. Gomez." Godness frowned thoughtfully. "Who is Mrs. Chambers?" Bright looked at Laura just as seriously. Even Prince waited quietly for the answer. Since the payment had come from Lucia Goods, he already knew Laura's friend was Alicia Mooney, the Police Minister's daughter. But who exactly was Mrs. Chambers?

Laura looked embarrassed. "I... don't know." Bright blinked. "What do you mean you don't know?" Laura tried to explain. "Well... I think she's Christopher Chambers' wife. I didn't even know Chris was married." Bright coughed in surprise. "What? My Vice Director? Mike's best friend?" "You want us to go meet his wife?" Laura nodded innocently. "Mmm." "What's wrong with that? They're married, we're married. Can't we just be normal friends?" Bright rubbed his forehead before asking another question. "Will Mike be there?"

Laura shrugged. "I don't know." "What exactly did you do to receive this invitation?" She laughed softly. "How would I know? You read the same message I did. Does it say anything else?" She stood up. "Father, Mother, I'll go get dressed." Prince and Godness simply nodded. Laura walked upstairs toward their bedroom. Bright immediately followed behind her. "You really want us to go?" "Do you know how arrogant Chris can be? What if this is his way of getting revenge? What if he humiliates you?"

Laura simply smiled as she continued choosing her clothes. "Keep talking and we'll end up arriving late." Bright refused to give up. "I didn't even know Chris was married. Nobody did. So why does his wife suddenly want to meet you?" "Are you sure this isn't some kind of trap?" "Should we take a few security guards with us?" Laura stopped what she was doing and turned toward him. "Husband..." "I really don't understand how you can think of ten things in one breath and expect me to answer all of them."

Bright immediately covered his mouth. "Did I say something wrong?" "But I'm serious. You never think about the risks." "You're my wife. Of course I'm worried." Laura smiled warmly. "I'm ready." She picked up her handbag. "We'll use your car since you're so worried." She winked at him. Bright sighed helplessly. "You never take me seriously, do you?" Laura laughed. "I do." "That's why you'll be driving and making sure we arrive safely." A few moments later, the two of them left the Gomez residence.

At the Chambers residence, Chris had just stepped outside, intending to take a taxi to the mall, when he noticed a familiar car parked outside the gate. Without hesitation, he walked over and climbed inside. To his surprise, Sarah was sitting comfortably in the passenger seat. She smiled brightly. "Good morning, Husband." "Excited about today's outing?" Chris looked at her suspiciously as he settled into the back seat. "Wife... why are you so excited when all you've planned is window shopping?"

Sarah grinned proudly. "I'm excited because today you'll be giving me the full princess treatment." "You'll be driving me to the mall." Chris's eyes widened. "So that's why you're sitting in the passenger seat?" Sarah nodded honestly. "Exactly." "Now come to the front and drive." Chris laughed. "If you think I don't know how to drive, then you're mistaken." "My father taught me when I was fifteen." Sarah laughed. "We'll see." Without another word, Chris moved to the driver's seat. To Sarah's surprise, he drove confidently and smoothly the entire way.

Watching him handle the car with ease, she quietly thought, "So he really wasn't lying..." Then another thought crossed her mind. "Just how deep is the bond between these brothers? Chris willingly delayed buying his own car simply because Mike couldn't afford one." A faint smile appeared on her face. Alicia and I arrived at Celtic Mall first. We waited outside for several minutes before Sarah's Mercedes pulled into the parking lot. The moment we saw Chris behind the steering wheel, both Alicia and I burst into laughter.

After greeting one another, Alicia smiled mischievously. "Brother, how was your first time driving?" Chris grinned. "Who said it was my first time?" I pointed at him. "Look at your hands, Brother." "They're sweating." Chris immediately hid them behind his back before looking at Sarah. "Wife, tell them." "I'm the most experienced driver you know." Caught completely off guard, Sarah nearly choked.

Alicia couldn't stop laughing. "Come on, everyone." "Let's head inside before we spend the whole day standing here." Sarah shook her head. "Not yet." "We're still one couple short." Chris frowned. "What do you mean?" "Yesterday you said you invited one more person, not another couple." Just then, another luxury car slowly pulled into the parking area. A few metres away, Bright brought the vehicle to a stop.

He immediately noticed the group waiting together near the entrance. From where he was sitting, he could only see their back. His expression instantly became serious. He gently held Laura's hand. "Do you really want us to go over there?" "Why don't we just turn around and go back?"
