C30 I Have A Granddaughter

For the first time in many years, all three families went to sleep with smiles on their faces.

Days passed peacefully. The friendship between Chris, Alicia and I grew stronger. Work became busier. The rumors targeting me slowly disappeared. Life seemed to be moving in a better direction.

Until one evening. At the Wood Family estate, Samantha suddenly froze. A sharp pain shot through her stomach. The glass in her hand slipped and shattered against the floor.

Ben immediately stood up. “Samantha!” Another wave of pain came. Her face turned pale. Tracy rushed over. “What happened?” Samantha grabbed her stomach.

The answer was obvious. Kelvin’s eyes widened. “Take her to hospital” The mansion instantly erupted into chaos.

Within minutes, Samantha was rushed into a luxury vehicle. Ben sat beside her, panic written all over his face. Tracy held Samantha’s hand while Kelvin contacted the hospital in advance.

The entire Wood family hurried toward the hospital. Hours later, everyone waited anxiously outside the delivery room. No one spoke.

Even Ben, who usually acted arrogant and confident, could only pace back and forth.

Finally, the doors opened. A doctor stepped out with a smile. “Congratulations.” Everyone immediately stood up. “The mother is safe.”

The doctor smiled warmly. “And she has given birth to a beautiful baby girl.”

For a moment, complete silence filled the corridor. A daughter. Samantha had given birth to a daughter.

The Wood family’s newest member had arrived. And with her arrival, many futures were about to change. The atmosphere at the hospital was completely different from what everyone had expected.

The moment the doctor announced that Samantha had given birth to a healthy baby girl, Kelvin Wood burst into joy. “A granddaughter! I have a granddaughter!” His voice echoed throughout the corridor.

Tracy laughed as tears formed in her eyes. “I told you a girl would be wonderful.” The couple immediately went to see Samantha and the baby.

The tiny child was wrapped in a pink blanket, sleeping peacefully in her mother’s arms. The moment Kelvin saw her, his heart melted. “She looks just like her mother.”

Tracy smiled. “Of course she does.” Kelvin carefully touched the baby’s tiny hand. The little girl immediately grabbed one of his fingers.

That simple action nearly made him emotional. “My granddaughter is so smart already.” Tracy rolled her eyes. “She’s only a few minutes old.” “She’s still smart.”

The old couple laughed happily. Samantha watched the scene quietly. A warm feeling rose in her heart. At least one thing was certain. Her daughter would never lack love from her grandparents.

Unfortunately, not everyone shared the same happiness. Standing in the corner of the room, Ben’s expression remained gloomy. A daughter. Not a son. A daughter.

Everything he had imagined about his future heir running the company one day seemed to disappear. The more he looked at the baby, the more complicated his emotions became.

Tracy noticed immediately. She walked over and glared at him. “If I see you making that face in front of my granddaughter again, you’ll answer to me.”

Ben forced a smile. “I’m happy.” “You look constipated, not happy.” Even Kelvin frowned. “Whether she is a boy or girl, she is your child.” Ben remained silent.

Seeing the atmosphere becoming awkward, Samantha lowered her head and focused on her daughter. The little girl was sleeping peacefully, completely unaware of the emotions surrounding her arrival.

The next morning news spread quickly at the company. Vice Director Ben’s fiancée had safely delivered a baby girl.

Employees chatted excitedly throughout the building. When I arrived, Chris was already waiting for me outside. “Brother.” “Morning.”

Chris lowered his voice. “Did you hear the news About Samantha?” I nodded. “Apparently she gave birth last night.” I remained calm. “Then that’s good.”

Chris looked at me carefully. “That’s all?” I smiled. “What else do you want me to say?” Chris shrugged. “Nothing.”

The past was the past, I genuinely hoped the child would grow up healthy. That was all. Soon Alicia arrived. She was carrying coffee and looked unusually energetic.

“Good morning, brothers.” “Morning.” “You two heard the news?” Chris nodded. “Everyone heard.” Alicia sighed. “The internet is already discussing it.”

The three of us exchanged a few words before heading inside. The workday passed quickly. By the time everyone clocked out, I had already made plans.

My laptop had carried me through countless projects, assignments, and security investigations. Now it was time for an upgrade.

Before leaving, I sent messages to Chris. “Brother I am Going to the mall after work. And to Alicia as well. “Younger sister I am going to the mall after work.” They Both Asked “ To do what?” “I want to buy some tech equipment’s, I need to upgrade some things on my laptop."

Alicia immediately replied. “ Good luck” Chris replied seconds later. “Buy something decent this time. Don’t come back with ancient technology.” I laughed and put my phone away.

After arriving at the mall, I headed directly toward the electronics section. My eyes immediately lit up. Rows of computer components filled the store. Memory upgrades. Solid-state drives. Cooling systems. High-performance processors. This place felt like paradise.

While comparing prices, I carefully selected the parts I needed. After nearly twenty minutes, I finally decided on several upgrades.

Just as I was about to leave, someone bumped into me. The impact was light. “Sorry.” A soft voice sounded. I turned around.

For a moment, We both froze. Standing in front of me was a familiar face. Long dark hair. Beautiful almond-shaped eyes. A gentle and slightly shy appearance.

Laura Tryon. Josh Tryon’s daughter. The same young woman he had first noticed during the team lunch weeks ago. Laura seemed equally surprised. “Oh.” I quickly nodded. “Hello.”

For some reason, we both became awkward. This was the first time we were truly speaking to one another. Laura looked at the items in my basket. “You like computers?”
