C305 Is It Worth It

Kelvin slowly looked around the living room before letting out a long sigh. His expression had become unusually serious. "It's exactly what all of you are thinking," he said quietly. "I don't even have to say it aloud." His words sent another wave of silence through the room. No one dared to respond. Everyone already understood what he meant. If the Harris family discovered that Ben had spoken to the police... ...the Wood family could become their next target.

After several moments, Kelvin finally spoke again. "The only advice I can give you, Ben..." "...is to go to the police and make it clear that you weren't involved in Natalie's death." Ben immediately shook his head. "Father, that's no different from reporting the Harris family." He stood up and paced back and forth. "The moment they find out I walked into a police station, they won't bother investigating why." "They'll simply assume I betrayed them." Sarah looked at her brother with disappointment. "So..." "Now you finally understand the consequences of your actions?" Ben lowered his head without answering.

For the first time, he genuinely felt trapped. No matter which choice he made... someone would come after him. Before anyone could continue the discussion, another Breaking News banner suddenly appeared on the television. Everyone instinctively turned toward the screen. The news presenter spoke in a grave tone. "Breaking News." "Police have officially identified the three victims whose bodies were discovered outside Celtic Mall earlier today." "The deceased have been confirmed as members of the Maguire family."

A photograph of Natalie and her family appeared on the screen. The presenter continued, "Authorities have also confirmed that the family left Scotland several days ago." "Earlier this morning, a hospital in Morocco reported a missing patient." "That patient was Penelope Maguire, the elderly woman whose body was later discovered in Scotland." Everyone in the living room stared at the television in disbelief. The report continued. "According to hospital staff, two unidentified men dressed as nurses entered the hospital." "Witnesses stated that both men spoke with Moroccan accents." "They asked hospital staff for Penelope Maguire's room before she mysteriously disappeared."

The room fell completely silent. Kelvin slowly muttered, "So..." "The Harris family's influence reaches as far as Morocco..." His expression became even heavier. "They're far more organized than I imagined." Surprisingly... A faint smile appeared on Ben's face. "Well..." "At least the police will now focus on Morocco." "They won't suspect me anymore." Sarah immediately looked at him. "And what if they discover Natalie took money from you?" "It won't take them any tome to.come straight to you." Ben's smile slowly disappeared.

He thought carefully before replying. "I never opened a fraud case." "It was a joint account." "I'll simply tell them she withdrew money that legally belonged to her." Tracy stared at her son. There wasn't anger in her eyes anymore. Only disappointment. "Ben..." "You've changed." "You've become ruthless." She slowly shook her head. "Please change." "Not because of your father..." "Not because of me..." "But because I don't want to watch my own son become someone without compassion." Ben forced a small smile. "I understand, Mom." "I'll change." He paused before adding quietly, "But... at least now I won't be the main suspect." No one responded. Instead... The silence became even heavier.

At the same time... Inside the Mooney residence... Alicia and I had just walked downstairs when the same news report appeared on the television. Peter immediately frowned. "A whole family..." "Murdered just like that." Georgia slowly shook her head. "No wonder Mark rushed out so early this morning." "He didn't even finish breakfast." Everyone's attention remained fixed on the television. As another photograph appeared on the screen, I suddenly frowned. "I know that woman."

Everyone turned toward me. Quinton Asked "Where do you know her from." "She used to work at Wood IT Company." "She was Ben's secretary." Mary's face immediately turned pale. "They even killed the old woman..." "She looked completely innocent." The room became quiet once more. Then... The hospital security footage from Morocco appeared on the screen. Two fake nurses walked calmly through the corridor before entering Penelope Maguire's hospital room. The moment I saw them... My expression changed. Alicia's eyes widened as well. She slowly looked at me. "Mike..." "Don't those two men look familiar?"

I nodded immediately. "They're the same men." "The ones who surrounded our old house." Quinton nearly jumped from his seat. "What?" Peter's face instantly darkened. "If that's true..." "...then there's no doubt." "This was the Harris family." Again, Alicia and I exchanged a silent glance. The evidence was becoming clearer with every passing day. Quinton leaned back heavily. "My God..." "They're not human." "They're animals." "How can anyone wipe out an entire family..." "...and then dump their bodies in public as though their lives meant nothing?"

Mary looked anxiously at Alicia and me. "Mike..." "Alicia..." "Is there truly no way to stop chasing this family before they come after us?" Her voice trembled with fear. "I don't want anyone else in this family getting hurt." Alicia remained silent for several seconds. Then she slowly looked at her mother. "It's already too late, Mom." "They've crossed a line." "They believe no one can touch them." She glanced back at the television, where the images of the victims were still being shown.

Her eyes gradually filled with determination. "If anything..." "This only gives me more reason to stop them." She looked at me. "Mike we have to make sure that this family is arrested." She paused, "If worse comes we will fight them heads on." I looked at her worried "That means the training Hall has to start operating as soon as possible we need to train harder." Alicia nodded. "They are probably done by now." "..We will start next week." She looked at Peter. "Grandpa please find the coaches as quick as you can." Peter nodded.

Quinton couldn't help asking, "But if they attack us..." "They won't come just to scare us." "They'll come intending to kill." He looked directly at Alicia and then at me. "They'll target both of you first." He hesitated before asking the question everyone had been avoiding. "Tell me honestly..." "Is all of this really worth risking your lives?"
