C310 Did You Use Maguire Family
Sarah laughed. “They treated me like I was a three-year-old child. Aunt Valeria even fed me herself.” Tracy and Kelvin exchanged a glance, both listening carefully as Sarah continued. “First, she skipped work simply because I was visiting them. Then, during breakfast, she kept feeding me as if I couldn't feed myself. She even woke us up early in the morning because she said we had to eat breakfast while it was still fresh.”
Sarah smiled as she remembered the morning. Despite everything that had happened that day, the memory brought warmth to her heart. “I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or feel embarrassed,” she admitted. “But she was so happy to have me there that I couldn't bring myself to stop her.” Tracy finally relaxed. “See? That's exactly how they are supposed to treat you,” she said with a smile. “You are their daughter-in-law now. They should make you feel loved and welcome.”
She then glanced at Samantha. “Unfortunately, it is a little sad that we cannot give our daughter-in-law the same kind of treatment.” Samantha immediately smiled. “Mother, please don't say that. You have given me more than enough.” Tracy looked at her. “You really mean that?” Samantha nodded. “You welcomed me into this family from the very beginning. You never made me feel like an outsider. I never had a reason to complain because there was nothing to complain about.”
Tracy smiled warmly. Kelvin also smiled as he listened to the two women. For a moment, the atmosphere in the room became peaceful. After everything they had discussed, the Harris family, Jack, Ben, the murders, and the danger that seemed to be approaching, the simple conversation reminded them that they were still a family. After talking for another minutes. Eventually, everyone returned to their respective rooms.
Meanwhile, Alicia and I finally arrived home late that evening. The moment we entered the house, we immediately noticed that something was wrong. Everyone was still awake. Even Mark had returned and was standing with the others, his expression filled with concern. The moment they saw us, several voices came at once. “Where have you two been?” “Why are you coming home this late?” “Is everything okay?”
Alicia looked around at everyone and smiled. “We went to the company.” Georgia frowned. “The company?” She looked at the time. “Alicia, it couldn't possibly have taken you this long just to visit the company.” "You said it will only take you an hour." Alicia didn't answer immediately. Instead, she slowly reached into her pocket and took out her phone. “We didn't just visit.” She unlocked the phone and began scrolling through the pictures. “The Training Hall has been completed.”
Everyone immediately became interested. Alicia turned the screen toward them. “I took some pictures before we left.” The moment she showed them the first picture, everyone moved closer. Mary's eyes widened. “This looks professional.” Quinton nodded as he studied the pictures. “They really did a good job. The boxing ring looks impressive, and the entire hall is much bigger than I expected.” Peter leaned closer to the phone. “How did they manage to finish all of this in only two days?”
I laughed. “Apparently, the renovation company doesn't like wasting time.” Alicia smiled. “They worked almost nonstop.” She continued showing them the pictures. The boxing area was clearly separated from the martial arts section. On the opposite side was the area that would eventually become the shooting range. The walls had also been reinforced and soundproofed according to Alicia's instructions. Mark looked impressed. “This isn't just a training room.” He looked at Alicia. “You've practically built a private training facility.”
Alicia shrugged. “That was the idea.” Mary shook her head. “Child, you really don't do things halfway.” Everyone laughed. Alicia continued scrolling until she reached the last few pictures. Then her expression changed slightly. She looked at Mark. “Speaking of the training facility, I need to ask you something.” Mark raised an eyebrow. “What is it?” Alicia hesitated before asking. “Do you have enough money in the budget for the weapons?” The room became quieter.
Alicia sighed. “I don't know how much everything will cost once we start buying the equipment. I don't want to use all the money I have on this facility.” Peter immediately burst into laughter. “Finally!” Alicia looked at him. “Finally what?” Peter grinned. “Finally, your pride has disappeared.” Everyone laughed. Peter continued teasing her. “Don't tell me you actually spent every single cent you had.” Alicia rolled her eyes. “Of course not.”
She paused before smiling. “I'm not even close to spending everything.” Peter nodded. “Then what's the problem?” Alicia looked at Mark. “I've simply changed my mind.” Mark raised an eyebrow. “You changed your mind?” “Yes.” Alicia pointed toward him. “I want you and Grandpa to handle the weapons.” Mark stared at her for a moment before laughing. “So that's why you're suddenly concerned about the budget.” Alicia smiled innocently. “Exactly.”
Mark shook his head. Peter laughed. “So you build an entire training facility and then decide that we should buy the expensive part?” Alicia nodded. “That's exactly what I'm saying.” Peter looked at Mark. “Why don't you pay for them?” Mark immediately shook his head. “Why me?” Peter pointed at him. “Because this is your case.” Mark smiled. “But I've already done more than enough.” Peter narrowed his eyes. “What have you done?” Mark's smile widened. “My team hijacked one of the Harris shipments.”
The laughter in the room immediately disappeared. Peter's expression changed. “You did what?” Mark remained calm. “We intercepted one of their shipments.” Peter stared at him. “You never told me.” “There wasn't much to report,” Mark replied. “We managed to stop the shipment, and although we didn't capture Willy himself, we arrested several of his subordinates.” Peter shook his head slowly. “You really did that?”
Mark's expression became more serious. “My team has been monitoring their movements for some time. We knew something was happening, but we didn't know exactly how far their network extended.” Georgia who was silent listened carefully. Then a thought suddenly crossed her mind. “Wait.” Everyone looked at her. Even Peter turned toward Georgia. “Did you use the Maguire family as bait?” Mark's expression changed slightly. “What makes you ask that?”
As if Peter remembered something. He leaned forward and added. “Mike said the men who appeared in the footage were the same men who had visited their old house.” He looked directly at Mark. “And now you are telling me that your team intercepted a Harris shipment.” Mark didn't immediately answer. Peter continued. “Then did you somehow get the Maguire family involved?” The room became completely silent.
