C33 Does That Mean She Is Also Interested

Samantha forced a smile. “Yes. Her name is Monica.” Katie and Nicolas exchanged excited looks. To them, this was wonderful news. The more Samantha became connected to the Wood Family, the stronger their own connections would become.

The Woods were among the most influential families in the city. Having them as allies would greatly benefit the Heaps Family.

“See?” Katie said proudly. “We told you everything would work out.” Nicolas nodded. “You’ll soon become part of one of the most powerful families around.” Samantha listened quietly.

For some reason, those words no longer brought her comfort. But she still told them. “I am getting married, Ben’s parents are deciding on a wedding date.” They were overjoyed seeing that their dream was actually coming true .

After speaking for a while, she ended the call and sat silently beside the window.

The next morning arrived quickly. I woke up unusually early. Perhaps it was because of yesterday’s events. Or perhaps it was because I had slept with a smile on my face.

After taking a shower and getting dressed, I was preparing to leave when my phone suddenly vibrated. A notification appeared.

I casually opened it. The moment I saw the sender’s name, my heart skipped a beat. Laura. Without realizing it, I sat down immediately.

The message was simple. “Good morning, Michael. Thank you again for yesterday. I had a wonderful time.”

For several seconds, I simply stared at the screen. Then I read it again. And again. And again. A smile slowly appeared on my face. My heart felt strangely warm.

A good morning message. From Laura. The shy and beautiful Laura. The daughter of my Team Manager. The same Laura who had occupied my thoughts for days.

I felt as if I had just won another company reward. My excitement grew uncontrollably. I quickly replied “ Good Morning to you too Laura, I hope we can meet again soon."

Without even eating breakfast, I grabbed my bag and rushed out of the house. “Mike!” My mother shouted. “Aren’t you going to eat?” “I’m not hungry!”

Before my parents could say anything else, the door had already closed. Mary and Quinton exchanged glances. Then they both laughed. “I wonder what happened to him,” Mary said. Quinton smiled knowingly. “Our son seems very happy today.”

When I arrived at the company, I immediately spotted a familiar scene. Alicia was chasing Chris around near the entrance.

“You cheated!” Alicia shouted. Chris laughed loudly. “How did I cheat?” “You started walking before I finished counting!” “That’s because your counting takes forever!”

“You are impossible!” The two continued arguing like little children. I couldn’t help laughing. “Good morning, you two.” Both of them immediately turned toward me.

The moment Chris saw my face, he frowned. “Brother.” “What?” “Why are you smiling like that?” I instantly tried to suppress my grin. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Alicia narrowed her eyes suspiciously. “That is the smile of a man hiding secrets.” Chris nodded. “I agree.” I sighed. “Am I that obvious?” “Very.” “Extremely.” “Painfully obvious.” The three of us laughed.

After finding a quiet corner near the company entrance, I finally took out my phone. Chris and Alicia leaned closer. “What is it?” Alicia asked.

I showed them the message. Both of them stared at the screen. Then they stared at me. Then back at the screen. Then back at Me.

Alicia was the first to react. “Brother!” Chris looked equally shocked. “You received a good morning message from Laura?” I nodded.

Alicia immediately grabbed my arm. “This is huge!” Chris crossed his arms thoughtfully. “Maybe.” I looked at him confused. “Maybe?” Chris nodded.

“It could mean she’s interested.” He paused. “Or she’s just being polite.” My excitement instantly dropped. Alicia immediately hit Chris on the shoulder. “Why would you say that?” Chris shrugged.

“Because it’s true.” I sighed. “Then what should I do?” Alicia and Chris exchanged glances. Neither of them answered immediately.

After all… Neither had ever been in a relationship before. Alicia had spent most of her life surrounded by family and bodyguards. Chris was too focused on studying and protecting me to care about romance.

The three sat there awkwardly. Finally, Alicia raised her hand. “I think you should take it slow.” Chris nodded. “For once, I agree with her.” I looked at them surprised. “Really?” Chris shrugged.

“You just escaped heartbreak not long ago. Don’t rush.” Alicia smiled. “Besides, if Laura likes you, she isn’t going anywhere.”

I thought about it for a moment. “But Laura does not know anything about my life. If I take it slow, wouldn’t that cause a misunderstanding?” He paused and said “ Maybe I must just confess to her.” "What should I do?”

Alicia thought carefully before answering. “Talk to her.” Chris nodded. “Get to know her first.” “Don’t confess immediately.” “Be close to her and get to understand her.” “Spend time together.” “Then see where things go.”

I listened quietly. Although neither of them had any relationship experience, their advice felt reasonable. A smile slowly appeared on my face again. “Fine.”

“I will understand her first.” Alicia pointed at him dramatically. “Good.” “No reckless confessions.” Chris nodded seriously. “No running toward love like a suicidal hero.” The three of us burst into laughter.

Unknowingly, another normal workday was about to begin. But somewhere inside the company, certain people would not be happy to see me smiling again. We soon went our separate ways and headed to our respective departments.

The morning had barely started when another piece of news spread throughout the company. Vice Director Ben Wood and Samantha Heaps were officially getting married. The announcement spread like wildfire.

Employees gathered in small groups discussing it. “Did you hear?” “The wedding date has been confirmed.” “I wonder who received invitations.”

“People from the executive floor probably.” “Do you think the company will host a celebration?” Everywhere people were talking about the upcoming marriage.
