C348 Get Rid Of Your Identities

Samantha nodded. “Yes. I noticed a car following us. It started when we left home, and it disappeared when we got close to the company.” Alicia slowly shook her head. “So my father was right.” Chris looked confused. “What was he right about?” Alicia answered honestly. “He warned me that once that photograph was published online, it would attract attention. It seems some people are already becoming interested in what we are doing.”

She looked at everyone on the call. “Guys, you need to be careful. After work, come and collect your guns.” Everyone nodded. Chris then asked, “Are the coaches coming today?” Alicia shook her head. “I don't know. Maybe.” Laura suddenly looked worried. “So if they followed Sarah and Samantha, does that mean they know about me too?” She looked around nervously. “What if I'm being followed as well?” I laughed. Chris laughed even louder. “What are you scared of? Didn't you say you were brave?” Laura frowned. “Chris, why are you always so annoying?” Chris grinned. “Because you're still my enemy.” Everyone laughed.

Alicia smiled. “Alright, everyone. We'll talk again this afternoon.” She then looked at me. “Mike, come to my office.” I laughed. “As you command, Boss.” Everyone laughed again before the call ended. I stood up and headed toward Alicia's office. As I walked down the corridor, I noticed the newly appointed Finance Manager entering her office. I followed him inside. The manager bowed slightly. “Good morning, Director.” “Good morning,” Alicia replied. The manager then handed her a report. “Director, the news report regarding the orders that were shipped last week has come back.”

Alicia looked at him curiously. “Why do you look so happy? What does the report say?” The manager smiled. “Director, there were no returns and no faulty equipment reported from any of the four continents we shipped to. All four companies were very satisfied with the products.” Alicia looked at me. I looked back at her. For a moment, neither of us said anything. Then I finally spoke. “Well, that means Thomas and Edward really were behind everything.” Alicia nodded slowly. “It looks like it.” She thanked the Finance Manager, and he bowed before leaving.

The moment the door closed, I looked at Alicia seriously. “Wife, if Thomas and Edward really were behind everything, then what about Charli Kinlore?” Alicia raised an eyebrow. “Why?” “Her resignation never made sense.” Alicia smiled. “It's actually good that she left early.” She paused. “But that's not why I called you here.” I looked at her. “Then what is it?” “I've been thinking.” “Thinking about what?” Alicia rolled her eyes. “Obviously, about your computer.” I laughed. “What about it?” She looked at me seriously. “Back when we worked at Wood IT Company, you were very comfortable with that computer. I want you to buy the same model.”

I immediately shook my head. “I love my computer.” Alicia smiled. “You love that old thing?” “It means more to me than you think.” She became curious. “What do you mean?” I smiled as I remembered. “I still remember how hard I worked to buy it. I was still in school at the time. I would attend classes during the day and then work extra hours at the café in the afternoon.” I shook my head. “I was always tired. Sometimes I was starving, but I kept going until I finally saved enough money to buy it.”

Alicia listened quietly. “Even when Samantha left me, I used to put almost all my attention into that computer. That's actually how I became interested in technical stuff in the first place.” I smiled. “That computer became part of my life.” Alicia nodded. “I understand that.” She paused. “But now we have to look at the bigger picture.” I looked at her. “What do you mean?” “You used that computer to search for dangerous people.” She folded her arms. “And you eventually got caught.” I frowned. “So?” “So they may already know that computer.”

She continued. “Who knows? They could have left something behind. A Trojan horse, tracking software, or something else that could identify you the moment you connect it again.” I laughed. “Why would you even think of something like that?” Alicia smiled proudly. “Have you forgotten that I was once the Special Analyst?” I laughed. “Wife, I almost forgot.” I thought about it for a moment. “Alright. I'll buy the Dell model.” I raised a finger. “But I still want the upgrades.” Alicia laughed. “Fine. You can have your upgrades.”

Later That Afternoon, The renovation team arrived at Lucia Goods. They immediately began working on the additional training room. For almost two hours, they worked without stopping. They completed the new room and installed the forty-five lockers Alicia had requested. Once everything was finished, Alicia checked the work before paying them. “Thank you. You can leave.” The workers packed their equipment and left. Not long afterward, Chris, Sarah, Samantha, and Laura arrived.

The moment they entered the training area, they stopped. Chris looked around. “Wow.” Sarah smiled. “You really changed the place.” Samantha walked toward the lockers. “This is much better.” Laura looked around excitedly. “So this is where we're going to train?” Alicia laughed. “Yes.” Before anyone could say anything else, the doors opened again. The ten coaches walked into the training hall. Everyone immediately became quiet. We all turned toward them. Angus the Hammer stood at the front. “Madam.” Alicia smiled. “Angus the hammer.”

He looked toward the equipment they had brought. “The boss told us to help you with the weapons, so we brought blades.” Alicia looked at the cases. Then Lewis the Sniper stepped forward. “I also brought ten sniper rifles.” Everyone froze. Alicia smiled. “Thank Grandpa for me.” She looked around the room. “The training room is finally ready.” The equipment was carefully placed and sorted. Once everything was arranged, Angus the Hammer looked at us. “I also took some time to analyse your situation.”

Chris raised an eyebrow. “Sir, what exactly did you analyse?” Angus The hammer smiled. “First, please call me Angus the Hammer.” Chris looked confused. “Why?” “It is the name I was given for war.” Angus the Hammer looked at everyone. “You should all have names like that as well.” Laura frowned. “Why?” Angus the Hammer remained serious. “To avoid using your real names.” Laura looked even more confused. “What does that mean?” Roy the Hunter, stepped forward. “Miss, when someone wants to hunt another person, the first thing they do is track whatever identifies them.”

He paused. “That could be your real name, your address, your workplace, your family, or even the people closest to you.” His expression became serious. “Once they discover who you really are, they can use your family against you.” Lachlan the Ghost, nodded. “Exactly.” He looked at Laura. “To move freely, you need another identity.” He paused. “You have to leave your real identity behind when you're operating with us.” Sarah frowned. “I don't understand.” She looked at the men. “We have families. We have husbands. We have jobs. If we suddenly start using different names, what are we supposed to tell them?”

William the Wolf, answered calmly. “Speaking of that, I have already considered your situation.” He looked at Sarah and Alicia. “Both of you are pregnant.” Sarah nodded slowly. William the wolf continued. “That actually gives you an opportunity to disappear later.” Sarah's expression changed. “What do you mean?” He answered matter of fact. “After you give birth, one possibility would be to announce that you died during childbirth.” Sarah stared at him. “What?” The room became silent. Sarah shook her head. “There are too many people who know me. I'm the Director of Wood IT Company. If the company suddenly announces that I died during childbirth, what would everyone say?”

Conner the Beast shook his head. “Miss, once you become involved in this world, you have to understand that your old life may no longer be safe.” Sarah remained silent. He continued. “You could make your employees understand the situation. Or you could leave the company and appoint someone to manage it while you disappear for a period of time.” He looked around the room. “You also need to understand something else.” His expression became serious. “If you're going after an enemy like the Harris family, you cannot remain careless about the people close to you.”

Sarah looked down. Conner the Beast continued. “I understand that you cannot simply disappear from your families. But when it comes to your operations, the people around you should be people who understand exactly what you are involved in.” He then turned toward Alicia. “Madam, that photograph that was posted online has already caused concern among the old men.” Alicia frowned. “What do you mean?” “We have fought the Harris family before.” The room became quiet. “They know who we are. And now that they know we are involved with you, they will be much more careful.”

Alicia's expression became serious. Samantha suddenly spoke. “Wait.” Everyone looked at her. “This morning, I noticed a car following Sarah and me from home to work.” Arthur the Bulldog, nodded. “You see?” He looked around the room. “This is exactly what we are talking about.” He paused. “But unfortunately, it may already be too late to completely hide your involvement from your families.” Sarah frowned. “What are you saying?” His voice became serious. “They already know some things about you.”

He paused. “And some enemies will not hesitate to hurt an entire family simply to break the person they are after.” The room fell silent. Arthur the Bulldog continued. “If you make enemies in the future, make sure you have a way to disappear. New identities can protect you. Your old identities become liabilities.” Angus the Hammer finally stepped forward. “After we defeat the Harris family, all of you should seriously consider changing your identities.” He looked at each of us. “Find a way to make your families understand what is happening.” He paused. “And understand something else.”

His eyes settled on Alicia. “This could be the beginning of a completely different life for all of you.” Alicia looked at him. “What do you mean?” Angus the Hammer smiled slightly. “Winning one battle will make people notice you.” He looked around the room. “And once people notice you, Madam, there will be others who will want to test you.” His expression became serious. “So you need to prepare yourself.” He paused. “Especially you, Madam.” Alicia froze "What does that mean?"
