C351 I Want The Truth

Without saying a single word, Samantha turned around and rushed toward the door. Faith froze. For a moment, she simply stood there, staring at the entrance. "Is she upset with me?" she whispered. The more she thought about it, the more regret filled her heart. "What was I thinking?" She lowered her head and touched her lips. It had only been a joke. A distraction. A way to escape the hold Samantha had trapped her in. Yet Samantha had reacted completely differently.

Faith sighed and ran a hand through her hair. Then she suddenly saw something. "The gun!" Samantha had left without taking her gun. Faith hurriedly picked up both weapons and rushed outside. Unfortunately, she was too late. Samantha's car was already disappearing through the company gates. Faith stood there helplessly for a few seconds before letting out a long sigh. "I really messed up." With no other choice, she climbed into her own car and drove home, carrying both her gun and Samantha's.

At the Mooney Residence... Alicia returned home accompanied by the ten coaches. However, I did not return with them. I went to buy my new computer. When four black luxury vehicles pulled up outside the residence, Mark and Peter immediately frowned. The vehicles looked unfamiliar. "Who could that be?" Peter muttered. Before either man could investigate, Alicia's cheerful laughter echoed from outside. A moment later, she walked through the door. Behind her came the ten large men. "Grandpa! Dad!" Alicia called happily. "Today I invited my subordinates. I'll personally cook dinner for them."

The ten men entered respectfully before bowing slightly toward the elders. Mark, Quinton, Peter, Georgia, and Mary all looked surprised. Mary smiled warmly. "Subordinates?" Peter's eyes moved across the group. The men were imposing. Tall. Broad-shouldered. Disciplined. The type of people who looked dangerous without saying a word. Peter chuckled. "So these are the men from the Gupta family?" Before anyone could answer, Alicia disappeared into the kitchen.

The moment she was gone, the atmosphere changed. Mark's expression became serious. He looked directly at Angus the Hammer. "I want to know the truth." The room fell silent. Angus the Hammer straightened slightly. "Sir?" Mark folded his arms. "Can any of you explain the full story behind the Gold Dagger now in my daughter's possession?" His gaze sharpened. "I want complete honesty." He paused. "Will it bring danger to my child?" "And why was it given to her?" Angus the Hammer nodded respectfully. "As the leader of this group, I believe I can answer those questions."

Everyone listened carefully. Angus the hammer glanced at Gold and Diamond resting nearby before speaking. "Sir, Gold and Diamond represents authority." He paused, searching for the simplest explanation. "If I compare it to an ordinary kingdom, then Gold and Diamond is equivalent to a royal throne." The elders exchanged looks. Angus the Hammer continued. "When a king grows old, the kingdom begins looking toward the next ruler." He looked toward the kitchen. "In our family, Gold and Diamond serves a similar purpose."

Everyone listened quietly. "Our Boss has no direct descendants. Because of that, he gave every qualified member of the family a chance to draw Gold and Diamond from the ancestral pool." A faint smile appeared on his face. "Many tried." "I tried." "I failed." The other coaches nodded. "None of us succeeded." Georgia frowned. "If it represents a throne, why was it left inside a pool?" "And why doesn't Victor simply take it himself?" Conner the Beast answered this time. "Grandma, it doesn't work that way."

Everyone turned toward him. "The dagger chooses its owner." "It cannot simply be claimed." He pointed toward Gold and Diamond. "Even our Boss was never chosen by it." The room became silent again. "He always hoped one day one of his descendants would inherit the family naturally." Conner the Beast smiled slightly. "But fate had different plans." Mark absorbed the information before asking the question that truly mattered. "And the danger?"

Fraser the Reaper nodded immediately. "Yes." "There is danger." The room grew tense. Fraser the Reaper leaned forward slightly. "If we continue using the kingdom example..." "When a king announces his successor, not everyone is pleased." Some nodded. He continued. "Some support the prince." "Others begin plotting how to remove him." His expression hardened. "The same thing applies here." "There are members of Madam's family who are happy she obtained Gold and Diamond." "And there are others who are not." The room became completely silent.

Fraser the Reaper's next words carried weight. "Those people may already be making plans." Mark's face tightened. Georgia and Mary exchanged worried glances. Before anyone could speak again, a delicious aroma drifted through the house. Peter suddenly smiled. Mary noticed immediately. "What?" Peter chuckled. "Today is our chance." Mary was confused. "What chance?" "To ask the maids." Peter pointed toward the hallway. "Just wait." At that exact moment, the front door opened.

I walked inside carrying several a big wrapped box. The entire room turned to look at me. I froze. "Why is everyone staring at me?" Peter burst out laughing. "We thought..." "Forget it your wife is cooking." I immediately understood. "Oh." The room erupted into laughter. I sat down. Then I noticed the serious expressions on some faces. "What did I miss?" Mary smiled. "Nothing important." Mark shook his head. "We were discussing Alicia." I nodded.

Then Angus the Hammer continued speaking. "Sir, We are not simply assuming there would be enemies." "My sources have already reported movement." The room instantly became serious again. Quinton frowned. "What kind of movement?" Angus the Hammer answered calmly. "The First Line Family has already acted." "What is the First Line Family?" Quinton asked. Angus the hammer took a moment before explaining. "The Gupta Family lives differently from ordinary families." "They operate from a hidden base." "Most people never see them." "The businessmen who occasionally appear in public only represent family interests."

He continued slowly. "Our Boss has two brothers." "The eldest branch controls the largest army." "The second branch follows the eldest and focuses mainly on profits and influence." "The third branch belongs to our Boss." Everyone listened carefully. "For years, the other branches believed the Third Family Line would eventually disappear." "They believed there would be no heir." "They had already begun calculating how much influence and wealth they would gain once that happened."

His eyes shifted toward the kitchen. "Then Madam obtained Gold and Diamond." The room fell silent. Angus the Hammer continued. "The Eldest Family Branch immediately sent a convoy to inform their daughter." "Hanna." Several of the coaches exchanged glances. "Hanna is currently away fighting in a war zone." "She may not have received the news yet." "But once she does..." Before Angus could finish, the main door opened. Everyone turned. A stream of maids and security guards suddenly entered the house and headed straight toward the kitchen.

Peter immediately burst out laughing. "There they are!" Mary shook her head while laughing. "You were actually waiting for this." Peter grinned proudly. "What?" Lewis the Sniper looked confused. "Is something wrong with Madam?" He watched more staff disappear into the kitchen. "Why is everyone going in there?" The entire family laughed. Mark wiped tears from his eyes. "There is nothing wrong." Peter pointed toward the kitchen. "They're just following the smell."

The aroma filling the house had become impossible to ignore. Even the coaches couldn't help smiling. For the first time since arriving, the intimidating warriors looked completely defeated. Not by enemies. Not by war. But by Alicia Mooney's cooking.
