C370 Tristan
Kelvin cleared his throat and slowly explained, "Christopher and Sarah got their marriage certificate without going through the proper family rituals." His gaze moved between both families before he continued. "At the time, everyone was in a hurry. We only wanted to ensure that Sarah and the baby would be protected. There wasn't enough time to organize a proper wedding."
He paused and smiled at Sarah. "But now things are different." David nodded in agreement. "Now that they have a child, I believe they deserve a proper ceremony." Kelvin continued, "So Mr. Chambers and I have discussed it. We will officially hold their wedding on Saturday." David froze slightly. He didn't remember agreeing on the exact date. In fact, the discussion had barely reached that point. However, seeing the excitement on everyone's faces, he decided to remain silent. There was no point arguing now. Kelvin continued speaking. "There is another matter."
Everyone looked toward him. "The Chambers family will purchase the neighboring property beside our residence." Several people blinked in surprise. Kelvin smiled. "Our neighbors have been trying to sell their house for months." "If the price becomes too expensive, we will help." David nodded. "Both families should remain close." The room immediately became lively. Sarah's eyes widened. "Really, Dad?" She looked at David. "Really, Father?" David chuckled. "Yes." Sarah immediately smiled. "Then I'll get to see my in-laws every day?" The room exploded into laughter.
Even the serious atmosphere created by the discussion about the Harris Family disappeared for a few moments. Tracy laughed. "I don't know if they'll be happy seeing you every day." Valeria pointed dramatically. "I will be inspecting my grandson every morning." Sarah immediately hugged her son protectively. "No." "You're already planning to steal him." More laughter followed. For a few moments everyone forgot about danger, kidnappings, investigations, and enemies. They were simply a family celebrating a newborn child. Eventually David's gaze landed on the baby Samantha had just finished dressing.
The little boy was sleeping peacefully. David smiled. "So." "What is his name?" Immediately Tracy answered proudly. "Tristan." Valeria nodded enthusiastically. "Tristan Chambers." Chris looked at his son. The name sounded right. Strong. Simple. Perfect. "Tristan Chambers." He smiled. "I like it." Kelvin nodded. "It suits him." Soon everyone began repeating the name. The more they said it, the more natural it felt. Eventually nobody questioned it anymore. The little boy officially became Tristan Chambers.
The rest of the night passed surprisingly quickly. No one wanted to leave. After everything that had happened, nobody felt comfortable returning home. Some sat talking. Others watched the baby sleep. Several times Valeria and Tracy argued over who should hold him. David eventually fell asleep on a couch. Kelvin wasn't much better. Even Samantha, who usually maintained her composure, ended up dozing off in a chair. Only Valeria seemed fully awake. Every time she looked at her grandson, a smile appeared on her face. The night slowly faded.
Eventually dawn arrived. The first rays of sunlight filtered through the hospital curtains. A nurse quietly entered the room and approached Sarah. "Mrs. Chambers." Sarah slowly opened her eyes. She looked around sleepily. Then at the clock. Six o'clock. She blinked. Then looked around the room. People were everywhere. David was asleep on one couch. Kelvin on another. Chris was leaning awkwardly against a chair. Even Samantha had somehow fallen asleep while sitting upright. Sarah couldn't help laughing. "So nobody actually went home?"
The sound of her voice woke several people. One by one they opened their eyes. Soon laughter filled the room. Chris stretched. "Apparently not." Sarah slowly sat up. Despite the pain, she looked surprisingly energetic. "I need a shower." Immediately several people protested. But Sarah ignored them and slowly stood up. Valeria jumped to her feet. "What are you doing?" "You just gave birth!" Sarah smiled. "I'm taking a shower." Valeria looked horrified. "And after that?" Sarah smiled even wider. "Then we're going to see Alicia."
The room instantly froze. "What?" Valeria looked at her as though she had lost her mind. "No." "Absolutely not." Sarah laughed. "Mother-in-law." Valeria folded her arms. "No." Sarah pointed toward the baby. "Then let little Tristan stay with you." Valeria blinked. "What?" Sarah smiled innocently. "You're a nurse." "You've taken care of hundreds of babies." "You can handle one little boy for a day." Valeria choked. The room erupted into laughter. Even David nearly fell off the couch laughing. Sarah grinned. "See?" "I trust you." Valeria pointed at her. "You are impossible."
Still smiling, Sarah disappeared into the bathroom. Nearly an 30 minutes later everyone was fully awake. After showering and changing clothes, Sarah looked much fresher. Although the pain remained, her determination was obvious. Nobody could convince her to stay behind. Eventually both families returned to the Wood Residence. Meanwhile Chris, Sarah, and Samantha headed directly toward the Mooney Residence. They arrived much earlier than expected.
The three sat in the car for a moment. "We're too early," Samantha said. Chris nodded. "They'll probably still be sleeping." Sarah smiled. "Then we'll wait." But before they could settle down, another vehicle passed through the gates. Laura's car. Samantha laughed. "Looks like we're not the only ones." The three followed behind her. Inside the Mooney Residence, the household was still quiet. Upstairs, I was sound asleep. Knock. Knock. Knock. Mary stood outside his bedroom door. "Mike." No response. She knocked again. "Mike, wake up." I groaned from the inside. "Your friends are here."
The room suddenly became silent. A few seconds later, "What?" I immediately sat upright. I grabbed my phone. Almost seven o'clock. My eyes widened. "I'll be down soon!" I rushed into the bathroom. Downstairs everyone was already gathering. Laura was speaking with Samantha. Chris was teasing Sarah. Mark sat quietly drinking tea. When I finally arrived, my hair was still slightly wet. Everyone laughed. "You all came early." Chris shook his head dramatically. "Brother." "If this was a work day, you would already be late." The room laughed.
I rolled my eyes. "I haven't even eaten breakfast." Chris grinned. "Excuses." Mark looked at the group curiously. "Is everything alright?" He glanced toward Sarah. "Sarah, how are you feeling?" "What about the baby?" Sarah smiled politely. "Mr. Mooney, Tristan is with my mother-in-law." Mary blinked. "You left the baby with Valeria?" Sarah nodded confidently. "She's a nurse." "Nobody is more qualified." Mary laughed. "That's true." Sarah pointed dramatically. "See?" "That's exactly what I said." The room laughed again.
Quinton finally spoke. "What about work?" Everyone looked at him. Quinton continued. "Lucia Goods won't have a director today." He pointed toward Samantha. "And Wood IT Company won't either." Several people exchanged glances. I immediately smiled. "My wife is more important than work." Nobody argued. Soon Georgia and Peter appeared downstairs, fully dressed. Mark frowned. "Dad." "You're dressed?" Peter laughed loudly. "Yesterday you all left me behind." His eyes narrowed. "And then you got lost." Everyone immediately laughed.
Peter pointed at them. "Today I'm coming." "Whether you like it or not." Nobody objected. Half an hour later we finally departed. My car led the way. Behind me was Mark's vehicle with Quinton. Peter followed with Georgia and Tracy. Next came Chris's car carrying Sarah and Samantha. Laura's car brought up the rear. Everyone felt hopeful. Alicia was alive. We were finally going to see her.
